Ok. Compared to your average apartment complex, Pennsylvania Place looks more like a motel. My friend and I joke about his newly built complex (Da Vinci Ct) looking like a hotel and Penn. Place looking like a motel. There's a small pool, but no jacuzzi.
But hey, don't let the exterior fool you. Once you come into the apartment, you wonder why each tenant doesn't need to purchase a desk, bookshelf, drawer, and more is because they're already built with the apartment! I pay $450 for a huge room. Only downside is that there is no washer/dryer in each unit, so sometimes you're competing with people over the 3 washers and 3 dryers. There's no central heating or air conditioning, so if you like living out in the living room when it's super hot or freezing, then it's not so bad.
Parties? Throw them! I've never had a single complaint even when I've had 30+ people over late at night. We're usually pretty rowdy too and hanging outside. Never had a single complaint about the noise.
The L line drops you RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GATE. It's super awesome. Also, there's an E line stop right on the corner.
The manager, Barbara, is an old, brash, white lady, but she can be nice on a good day.... I suppose.
