Pennaluna is a lovely store with something for everything. I don't even know how to categorize it. From unique housewear to gifts for children to one-of-a-kind jewelry, Pennaluna is a special little place to visit while you're browsing through St. Helena. It is expensive, so beware. It is also a very nice store with very nice staff.

It's the type of place that doesn't sell what you need, it sells what you suddenly really want. I would guess it also appeals more to women than to men. But then again, that could describe most of St. Helena....

I managed to make it out without buying anything...and then was haunted by a necklace by Jeanine Payer for a week. The woman remembered me trying it on and happily put it on hold...even though I had completely left the county, not to mention the area. Two days later it was easy and delightful to pay for it by phone and have it shipped. It arrived in only two days, beautifully gift wrapped even though I'd purchased it for myself.

Pennaluna does have a website, but it is very limited. You've got to go and browse to get a sense of the shop. www.pennalunanapavalle...
