Nice place to eat!
I came here with my patient and we enjoyed the crab cakes and veggie appetizer, we were stuffed!
Service was good, friendly and prompt.

**great after work martini place**

this pelican's is a steady favorite of my family. the original location, it has more ambience than the east side one.

expect a good crowd almost every night of the week- particularly weekends. that being said, it's been my experience that reservations are FAR more necessary for fridays than they are for saturdays.

the service is typically good, and the decor is one of an old-time, dimly lit port hangout (i don't mind this, though my grandmother once had occasion to quip that it's so no one could see their food). the crowd is primarily upper middle-aged to older, though families with all age ranges also frequent.

the full bar is always active- usually with slightly younger patrons than the dining room, but still primarily professionals.

probably my favorite part of the restaurant is the wooden salad bowl filled with lettuce, carrots, whole green onions, radishes, and tomatoes (separated) for each table to share. the dressings are also all homemade. the fresh bread comes with full cloves of cooked garlic to slather on.

i  primarily order the salmon (either the signature grilled, or the special), however, because i have found their other fish choices somewhat unreliable.

Best service. I use to frequent this place when I lived in Hell Paso. I loved going here the steaks were awesome and the people remember your name, what you like to drink, and what you ordered last. They are a little slow at times but its worth it ...just sitting there and taking in the atmosphere.

so we travel here for work - and because i'm a freakshow, i need to eat at a different place every time.  in our indecisive travels, we stumbled across a place advertising prime rib and oysters - the actual kind - and what more could ask for from the middle of the desert!  but we all agreed because we were tired of driving past more taco stands....

what a pleasant surprise!!!  it felt very much like home to me - dark interior, huge booths, the party of 12 grandparents feasting on the early bird special...  this is sometimes what i want in my dinig experience...

the food - good (lots o fried). the service, attentive and NOT in-your-face annoying, the prices - really good for the portion sizes.  it's not like we lose weight when we travel for work, so we might as well embrace it!!!

When my husband was traveling a lot, and I had to go pick him up at the El Paso airport, we would try to time it so he'd arrive in the late afternoon and we could stop and enjoy a quiet, romantic dinner at this excellent restaurant. They have a wide range of choices, and start you off with a huge bowl of salad that you can share between you--and includes vegetables you don't necessarily see in anyone else's salads (like jicama). It's been a few years now since we were last there, but I still have fond memories of wonderful meals (only perhaps slightly tinged by my joy at being reunited with my man)...

This place is so freaking delicious. The atmosphere is great for couples and the portions are normal. The menu is not that big but the food that they do serve is some of the best in El Paso. The restaurant is not as big as one might think so if its a special day I would probably call ahead and reserve a table. I would recommend the steak and shrimp which comes with salad... mmmm... I think I'm getting hungry.

Best seafood in El Paso....and probably the WORST service. It is really a shame what the service here has degraded to....after all, someone goes to a lot of trouble finding fresh seafood and the kitchen does a wonderful job of preparing it.

My part of 6 had terrible service and I asked for the manager. He came, heard my compliaints and said he would take care of it. Nothing changed!  Our glasses were empty, we were served no bread, ever, even after asking like five times, some of our party never received their appetizers they ordered, all salad orders were wrong. The thing that really upsets me is that no apology was ever offered even though the twhole staff knew our party was unhappy.

NEVER GO TO PELICAN'S!!!!

Pelican's is the best seafood restaurant in El Paso. I frequently go to the one on Lee Travino and never had a problem. The service is great and well as the food.
