5 STARS!!!
Any place far from the tourist areas like Peg's willing to display the Yelp Badge is a mark of quality in my book!
Forget about Michelin Stars! Forget about Zagat ratings! It's all about the ever elusive PLUOYS*!!!
* People Love Us On YELP Sticker = PLUOYS
Great breakfast served here! I'll venture to say THE BEST BREAKFAST in RENO! I'd definitlely return!
Service is fast and friendly!
Prices are reasonable!
Portions are Generous!!!
Sunday at 845am there was no wait and parking was a breeze on the street.
I had the Pancake Sandwich, which comes with 2 huge pancakes served with fresh butter, 2 eggs, and 2 pieces of bacon. I also sampled the wifey's Eggs Benedict and my F.I.L.'s hash browns both which were excellent!
Al fresco dining available. Credit cards accepted. Leave American Express at home though...
As we left I met one of the owners, who I assumed was Peg. It turns out the gracious and smiling woman is Jody!
When in RENO do as the Renoans! Eat at PEG'S!!!

On Sunday morning before coming here, I read aloud the menu for Ad Hoc, "Huevos Rancheros & Cornmeal Waffles".
Then we go here, and I go D:
We can't all have Ad Hoc all the time, but this place definitely does well in it's breakfast department. The coffee isn't Blue Bottle, but stop complaining! It won't ever always be BB, the coffee here wakes you up and put cream in it.
I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy Deluxe. This means eggs and bacon. The bacon was not cooked to my liking, but I ate it anyway because it's BACON. The eggs, however, were done just the way I liked it.
There was too much gravy on the biscuits, but judging by my ever-growing ass I shouldn't speak so soon.
3 stars.
Ever since I moved to Reno I've heard such good things about Peg's but I just never got around to trying it. Finally, five years later, I went to Peg's.
First grudge - horrible parking situation and really hard to spot. I've probably driven by Peg's a million times and I never even noticed it was there.
Second grudge - typical breakfast menu. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with your basic egg, bacon, and hash brown breakfast because sometimes that's what I want. But there was very little creativity involved in creating the menu, especially the omelet section.
They were EXTREMELY busy, but we managed to get a seat pretty quickly. However, out waitress took forever to get around to us and ask us if we wanted coffee. It another good chunk of time before she finally came around with that coffee. She never once asked if every thing was ok while we were eating and she took her sweet time bringing our check to us when we were finished. I understand that they are busy, but that seemed a little extreme.
I order the huevos rancheros - good, not fantastic, and a little different that what I was used to. My friend got the Eggs Benedict with chorizo and chipotle hollandaise sauce - it looked delicious and if I ever go back I may have to try it.
Anyway, I wasn't overly impressed but it wasn't completely disappointing either.
I have eaten here several times and it is ok. Good breakfasts and good lunches.
And I would recommend it as a place to go if you want a big breakfast and don't want to make your own.
If you are visiting Reno from the Bay Area, leave around 9am. You'll avoid (most of) the traffic, and get here at around 1pm. I left at 9:30, ran into some traffic from an accident, and kept glancing over at my GPS as the "Arrival Time" ticked up. 1:25...1:30...1:40...
If I missed their 2:00 closing time, I might have cried.
Thankfully, I got to Peg's in time to get food. After the long 4 hour drive, I felt like complete crap. Coffee was good, with fast refills, and since I was dehydrated from the drive I got the waitress to leave the pitcher of water with me. Their famous huevos rancheros plate (I added a chorizo patty, since I really needed the fat and meat) was quite possible the most "hit-the-spot" meal I've had outside of those late-night, post-partying junk food runs. I don't remember those very well, though, so I'll give the award to this meal.
I'm trying to figure out why I took one star off this place. Hmmm. Gimmie a second. I'll figure it out.
I was spending the night in Reno with my girlfriend du jour and, after a heavy night of gambling and Mr. Heinekin, I needed morning satisfaction after my usual morning satisfaction. So, I hit the "Milo" Blackberry and Peg's came up - okay, I'm in.
First off, there were some SCARY looking people in there, Jimmy, and I'm talking about the women!
I did notice some HUGE skillets being brought out that looked quite good, but I was in the mood for basics. Eggs. Yeah. Therefore, I ordered the eggs with their homemade country sausage, hash browns, toast and a NICE BIG slice of fresh cantaloupe! Good times!
Call me traditional, but it always annoys me when I get two pieces of toast and not four. Why? Because I need two to eat with my eggs and two to eat with my jelly! Now, when I say FOUR pieces, I mean two slices of bread cut in half. Yeah.
The hash browns were excellent - not greasy at all and served like a small hunk of lasagna. Very, very good. My over-medium eggs were over-medium and the sausage, while very greasy, was very, very good with a nice tasty flavour to it. The coffee was OKAY - not the best I've had, not the worst. Also, they were very good about refilling it.
I think I took a star off because of the toast issue. Is that wrong?
No, maybe it was because the outside was SO dirty (there were two tubs of dirty dishes that looked like they had been there all morning and were fly-ridden) that I almost turned around. However, I'm glad I didn't.
Basically, if you go to Reno, go here after a night at the tables, especially if, like me, you're a winner. And I am.
Have a fabulous day!
Awesome! You won't go wrong. Even when it's massively crowded, you'll get good attention from the waiters, fantastic food freshly made and served quickly, all in a wonderful funky atmosphere.
A fantastic breakfast place. The portions are large, but a bit pricier than home, but I found that to be true just about anywhere I ate in the West/S West.
I would not look for another place for a large fill-to-the-gills breakfast.
I love breakfast. If I had to pick a "meal" of the day to eat (as opposed to a certain type of food) for the rest of my life, it would probably be breakfast.
And then my stomach would further expand and I'd be in a constant carb coma, but that's a story for another day.
Although Peg's is quite famous (even in Esquire magazine...mmmmm hot gay boy models...), I think I only went here once the entire time I lived in Reno. To be honest, I blame the constant hangovers and the inability to get farther than my own kitchen, never mind to an actual breakfast place. But now times have changed and I am only hungover once a week as opposed to 7 times a week, and when the rumbly calls, you answer.
We got here just in time on a Saturday morning, beating the breakfast crowd by about 5 minutes. We waited with our little vibrating, talking line-caller thing (something that vibrates AND talks is right up my alley) for just a short time, and were seated at the table near the door. Oooooh treasure chest with toys! (that idea got shot down) Ooooh crayons! (also shot down by fuddy duddy OOTTTPIL, although I secretly think he thinks it's cute).
We perused the menu (or rather, I perused, he had his order memorized) before finally settling on french toast for me and eggs and hash for him (hash extra crispy) with of course the completely necessary coffee.
And you know what, my french toast wasn't that glorified. Not even remotely. It was okay...but not stellar. I know OOTTTPIL really liked his, but mine was mediocre. As was the much needed coffee.
There may be other things on the menu that deserve the recognition that Peg's gets....but I didn't try any of those. Our waitress, however, was awesome considering what kind of crap I'm sure she has to put up with.
Will I be back? Doubtful. But you never know.
This isnt IHOP people!
I lived by Pegs for a year or two before trying it (college friend who grew up in Reno said it was a must). I was a little dissapointed in the prices but I forgive because they have quality and good quantity!
My favorite staples is the ham steak and eggs ($10+) but they give you canteloupe with any breakfast meal and I normally skip the toast and substitute fresh fruit (because it is actually fresh and has a variety).
I have also had the eggs benedict (regular) but they have a salmon benedict and a crab one too (although dont know if that was a special once or if its on the menu) that ive always wanted to test out. Always get a fresh squeezed orange juice large (and its actually a large). Coffee isnt the best, I think its Farmer Bros but I like that kinda anyways. Oh the rancho comes out IN THE SKILLET, I love that.
I heard the owners were related to owners of the Griddle in Winnemucca where I worked for a couple years so I kinda figured on the prices being a little higher than say, Denny's or IHOP.
Oh yea, so small but they are accomodating, always let us bring our puppy to sit outside with us and give us a huge bowl of water for him.
Oh wait again... dont miss out on lunch specials... had huge corn beef melted thing once, delicious!
The food is pretty good and the people here are SO nice. It's rare that you go to a diner and the people are friendly, cheerful and keep refilling your coffee cup (at least in my experience. Horrible, isn't it?)
The portions are huge. If you're not a big eater, you might want to share your meal with another person and order something small on the side.
The artwork on the walls were pretty cool.
A Washoe County employee told me to avoid the casinos for any meals and recommended this excellent breakfast place to me. He also told me, Peg's was voted best breakfast place in Reno. Something that is right up my alley!
This diner is a lot bigger than some of the better breakfast joints back home with a maximum occupancy of close to 100. It is also located a block away from the Downtown County Courthouse and other law offices. An area where Judge Mills Lane built and made famous. One of the side streets is named after the honorary judge and boxing referee.
Beforehand, I was told that this diner can be overly-crowded and expected to wait. Well, my co-worker was wrong and I was lucky that the diner was somewhat crowded, thus I was seated immediately at the counter table, where I was able to watch the cooks operating the grill in a military-style formation and chat with other regulars.
This is a family-owned business and is operated by the father and daughter team of Freddy and Jody. I don't know Jody that well, but I already feel like a member of their family when she already read my mind and started me off with a fresh cup of coffee, which costs $2.00. There are daily specials posted right by the door, but I went straight to the menu and ordered the Country Fried-Steak with eggs. My $10.00 plate had a fat slice of Country Fried-steak battered nicely with eggs (any style), buttery toast, hashed-browns and a slice of cantalope. My co-worker was right and led in a right direction. That was one incredible meal to start my day.

Despite being busy during the morning-hours, The two (Freddy and Jody) and I had a lengthy and friendly chat. Jody's son, who is also named Matt, also assisted my needs, works well with mom and grandfather. Freddy looks really good and athletic as a grandfather. He probably can kick my ass.
I came here during a weekday, which is the best. I would imagine that this place would be pack on the weekends or any bigger Reno events.
Credit Card is accepted for my meal. And with great breakfast and lunch meals, there are numerous awards posted on the door including a Yelp-Sticker...one of the few businesses in Reno with the famous red sticker.
WARNING! Do not attempt to drive or operate heavy machinery, if you finish a whole plate here at Peg's. It will knock your ass out.
Legal disclosure aside, Peg's is starting to become a staple visit for me, everytime I now visit this town, (which is quite frequent). Especially after a good party night and no 2 am closing laws, this place plays an important role in bringing my hazy head back into sobriety.
Last visit was on a Wednesday round 11 am and the joint was starting to fill up. We had to sit at the counter which wasn't bad as we got to view the kitchen in bustling action. I've tried the ham n eggs at their other location, and was set on trying something new. Special's board listed a Huevos Rancheros and I inquired if it had any meat, cuz I wanted some greasy meat, even if I had to get some on the side. Nice server verified it had a sausage patty with the eggs (your style) and topped with warm homemade Mexican tomato sauce. Served with pinto beans, some vinegared slaw (huh?) and corn tortillas all on this aluminum skillet the size of a friggin' hubcap.
Hell ya, I finished that mofo (except the weird slaw, who eats that for breakfast?) with 2 refills of black coffee, some water for rehydration, then rushed back to bed. To say the least, that was one helluv a nap, fo sho. Thanks Peg, for bringing this zombie back to life, so I can contently drive back home to Cali, only to yearn to do it all over again.
We go to Reno/Tahoe almost every weekend in the winter, for snowboarding season, but we always get stuck inside the casinos. So this time around, I did my Yelp-research and found Peg's for breakfast.
We got there around 8:45am, I think right before the rush, and were promptly seated. Right after we were seated a huge rush came in, and people had to stand and wait by the door.
Being the fatty fat fat Asian girl of almost 120lbs, I ordered a bagel, extra toasted and persuaded hubby to order chicken fried steak (since the calories don't count if I'm not the one to order the food).
My bagel came out nearly burnt, and was just crappy store bought bagels. Not like Noah's or anything. $2.50 for a bagel w/ cream cheese!
Hubby's chicken fried steak was HUGE. The gravy was off the hook, with chunks of meat in it. It tasted like they made it with chicken broth too. The batter for the chicken fried steak wasn't that great tho. It was really powdery...and not crispy or crunchy. The toast was thick and delicious.
The best part of the meal was our waiter, this shorter little Hispanic man. He was so nice and friendly, I wanted to give a huge tip, but my hubby is a stingy tipper. :( So I gave him huge smiles instead. :)
I would come back here next time, but I'd be hands-off with the ordering of hubby's breakfast. Darn Asian girls are so controlling, even when we don't try to be. :(
Want a nice greasy breakfast to satisfy your all night gambling/drinking? Then come here. The servings are large to satisfy any big boy or girl. The line to eat your grub may be long if you come at lunch time, but it goes by fast. Lots of locals and tourist alike were clogging their arteries the day I went.
I had Joe's special which was an egg scramble with mushroom, onions, and ground turkey. You could have it with ground chuck, but I wanted to go healthier....hahaha. The plate also comes with hash and toast. As I dove into my greasy meal, I was happy that I was drinking coffee, as it washed down the grease. The scramble filled my tummy for the long drive back to the bay area.
Came here on a Sunday around 11:30am with the bf, the bff and his gf. Although the place was packed, the wait was no longer than 10 minutes. We were quickly seated at the counter, where we were provided with a great view of how things ran in the kitchen. However, this contributed to me taking off 2 stars when I saw that none of the cooks or servers wore gloves and touched food with their hand (i.e., waitress filled up fruit bowls with her hand instead of a spoon, chefs used their fingers to hold the meat in place when transfering it from the grill to a plate).
The portions are GIGANTIC. You will be so stuffed that you won't want to eat another bite for many many hours to come. I got the crabcake benedict and it was damn good. I gulped that puppy down like it's nothing. It came with hash brown, cooked just the way I liked it - nice and crispy on the outside. The bf got chorizo scramble and it was pretty damn good too. His came with hash brown and toast or tortilla. He wanted tortilla but I veto'd it and he got toast instead. The toast was good, probably due to the excess amount of butter they smear on it!
Service is very good. The atmosphere was very friendly and the waitresses were all smiles. They continously filled up our coffee mugs whenever we drank any of it.
Good prices for the big portions. I highly recommend this place, especially since it is only 1 block away from Virginia street where the casinos are. You will get better quality and bigger portions for the same price at casino cafes!
Setting: Nice and quaint. Totally a diner setup. Very nice art on the walls! Just a fun atmosphere.
Food: Good, but not great. Seems to be like any other breakfast place, except for huuuuge servings. Had the corned beef and hash...yum! And don't be fooled by the name "short stack." These are 2 of the biggest pancakes I've ever seen in my life! :) Good stuff!
Service: Awesome! No complaints here. They were very friendly and hospitable.
This breakfast place ... is absolutely glorious. I might venture to say that in Northern California / Nevada region, this is BY FAR my favorite breakfast place ... ever!
They are very packed so calling ahead is recommended, but the wait is nevertheless completely worth the giant platter of yummylicious breakfast food that will be in front of you as you watch in amazement. I've seriously never seen plates / "woks" this big before in my life! They give you so much food that it is beyond worth your money, especially when all of it is so delicious and freshly cooked. The servers here are very nice and I'm drooling as I think about my spicy cajun scramble ... mmm
Yum yum yummy! I only took away one star because at the NW Reno location some of the tables are in a socially awkward position next to the door or where people are waiting. The breakfast is cheap, the people are friendly and the two egg breakfast I usually order is super tasty. No wonder it's a Reno landmark!
I normally loathe breakfast food.
I burned out on it in the Marine Corps, went years without eating it...I was the type that would order a burger and beer at Denny's at 7AM.
Of course being a strength athelete means oatmeal and eggwhite omlettes every morning.
Thank God for Sunday's...my day-off from eating healthy all week.
I decided to give Peg's a try and ordered....
The Sierra Omlette! What I got was a huge 4-egg omlette stuffed with shredded chicken, cheese, peppers, and a side of pinto beans, home fries, guac, jalapenos, corn tortillas and slaw. Served in a skillet.
This had to be the best breakfast I've had in a long time.
Coffee looked weak so I had an iced tea to wash it down.
A little pricey for breakfast fare, but a damn fine Meal!
A quote from my out of state friends about breakfast this morning:
- "Yeah, that food is kind of ridiculously like crack!"
- "It can satisfy everyone's needs!"
I have been several times since moving to Reno in July and I love to try something new each time because I know it will be delicious!!
Oh my lord when I got my pizza pan of breakfast I thought I was going to keel over. There was no way my 5 foot frame was going to fit that in my belly. Surprisingly, it was good and I ate all 89% of it! A good place to have breakfast, you know based on a non-local Californian tourist's opinion.
They had a Yelp sticker on their door and a warm cup of coffee to welcome me right in! Hey, I'm easy to please.
Great place to get awesome breakfast food!!!
We came by on a Sunday morning before our trek home to the bay. There was a little wait because it was quite crowded, but we got seated in a reasonable amount of time. The food was great and the portions were huge. The service wasn't bad either. The waitress kept refilling my coffee cup every time she came by.
My recommendation: Country Fried Steak, Fresh Fruit
The food is adequate and not too challenging to a palate that hasn't woken up yet. The waiting isn't any fun though...not really worth it unless you've got nothing better to do for about 90 minutes or you ware waiting for your hangover to subside so that you can ingest something.
ps - the coffee sucks
WOW, this place is hopping!!!! Each and every time (all of 4 or 5) that I've been here, we've had to wait for a table.
The food is delicious. My breakfast comfort food is eggs over easy with hash browns, but I've branched out and had a skillet breakfast (OMG so much food, if you're under 200 pounds, plan on sharing!) and the Eggs Benedict more recently. (I'm serious about the skillet breakfast - look at the photo of the guy with coffee and thumbs up over his skillet ... ridiculous amount of food!)
But damned good food.
This is the best place to have your breakfast in Reno!!!
Every worker there are very friendly, food is very good, very affordable, and the street parking is easy to find too.
Be ready to wait for your seat if you have a group of 3+ though.
Me and my girlfriend saw many people were waiting to be seated when we entered. But soon as we told them we have 2 people only, we got or table right a way.
Recommend the Sierra Omelet $10.
Would absolutely go back there again during my next visit reno.
Found this place on yelp and I was so glad that I did. We went on a Sunday and must have beat the crowd. It was about noon and was surprised that there were tables available, just because of all what the yelp people wrote. But it did fill up fast.
We ordered breakfast and it was great. I had a sausage sandwich and my hubby ordered grits and a meat omelet. The only thing I was not satisfied with was the orange juice. I am a huge fan of freshly squeezed juice and pulp. But this freshly squeezed orange juice tasted like it was old sour. I tried putting some sugar in it but it didn't help at all. But other than that the experience was great.
If this place has not yet been featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" then someone should mention it to the food network!
First of all I ordered a "half" plate and it was probably one of the largest breakfast experiences of my life. It included an entire half slice of ham, half of one of those huge round slices and that was just half of the meal.
Secondly, for two meals that two very very hungry college boys could "barely" to "not even" finish we paid just over $20 and that is quite a deal in my book.
Today I am going to their other location so hopefully the food that will be as delicious as it was at this one. The waiting staff was your typical diner type so don't expect too much, the place is busy and you should just tip them well.
This is THE breakfast spot in Reno. It's located just south of downtown and the only complaint is that the waits can be a bit long to get a table on the weekend.
Admittedly, I generally go to Peg's to cure a hangover and they serve breakfast until they close around 2pm.
The chicken fried steak and eggs is the best I have ever had. There is nothing that touches it in the chicken fried steak department anywhere.
Another favorite is the Country Benedict which I discovered on their specials board one weekend. Instead of an English muffin, it uses their biscuits that melt in your mouth, and instead of hollandaise sauce, there is gravy. A couple of slices of bacon between the poached eggs and gravy and you have an all too delicious few years taken off your life due to heart disease. But its worth every bite.
For non-gravy themed items, Peg's has the usual breakfast standards, an amazing huevos ranchero, Chef George's benedict (chorizo and chipotle hollandaise), gorgonzola scramble (with spinach, bacon, gorgonzola mushrooms and onions) and so much more. Oh, and lunch.
The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting and I hope when I leave Reno, I'll find somewhere half as good Peg's.
Both locations are busy on the weekend during breakfast.
This is one of my favorite places for breakfast and I will wait.
the Huevos Ranchos is my go to meal; although I say each visit I will try something else NEVER HAPPENS!
Yummy!
My cousin had recommended that we go here for breakfast since we didn't know where to go while she would be at work. ;) I told her I was craving breakfast food and she said this was the place to go!
The food can easily be described as a fusion of breakfast food and Mexican food. Accordingly, I got the chille relleno breakfast. So yum! ..and it comes on a BIG SKILLET; so big, I couldn't have imagined that I would finish my plate!
Overall, the service was very good. Only thing was that we were seated awkwardly in a separate room.. granted it WAS crowded, but it made a difference.
Still, yummy food! :)
It's all about the hollandaise. Sure you can have fresh fruit or a cal-mex style platter with beans and tortillas and eggs and salsa. But the best of the best of the best at Peg's is anything with their fresh made, creamy as hell, unbroken, lemony, paprika sprinkled, egg yolk based, spoon worthy goodness.
I had a breakfast special of the champignon omelette with sauteed mushrooms and onions and some crispy smoked bacon. It came with really crispy hash browns, couple different kinds of toast, and a slice of the most yummy ripe melon ever.
We also ordered a large bowl of freshly sliced fruit. It never came and we weren't charged for it and...that's ok...because we would have never even come close to finishing it.
Prices are a tad high for Reno in my opinion but the value is there - great service, fast food prep, quality grub, and a nice homey atmosphere.
The wife and I take a trip from San Francisco to Reno at least twice/year and allways eat breakfast at Peg's before heading back home. The service is great, the food is delicous and the portions are huge!
The huevos rancheros are some of the best I've had anywhere!
Peg's was darn Tasty
I was out drinking and gambling the night before, so a nice breakfast was just what the doctor ordered, and I'm sure glad we went here.
I ordered the Chicken Fried steak, it was super crispy and delicious, one of the people with us ordered the Glorified ham n eggs HOLEY MOLEY! it was huge and had bananas sauted in rum, butter and sugar on top. It smelled so good. and could have easily fed a small village
oh oh the sliders are fantastic, you can taste the quality of the meat in these not so little jewels.
service was a little slow and I had to ask for more coffee a couple times, but over all it was a really good experience and I will be going back next time I'm in town
According to Esquire Peg's Glorified Ham N Eggs offers some of the best breakfast in the country, 13th to be exact. I've eaten a lot of breakfast so I am not quick to agree plus I wonder to myself how much of that unbridled love is due to the kitsch related to the town itself with its countless bygone era neon motel signs and quarter slots and not necessarily the eggs.
Turns out this place is just as beloved to locals as it is to the gawking city folk. Framed articles from Reno bi-weeklies paper the walls and girls in pajamas maybe from the university sit texting, eating and gossiping. It's 10:30 on a Saturday and packed I order a veggie omelet and immediately regret that I didn't get bacon. Somehow the toast is the best I've eaten and the veggies redeem themselves with freshness and crispness.
The author expressed that one of Reno's qualities is that you are off the grid when you are here. I can see that. You can walk outside and not be crowded, you can look around and not recognize one thing.
Peg's is good but I cant help but think that the sheer fact that it is in Reno is what makes it so great.
Food a plenty, a great hangover cure, for those of the "Reno type". It is hard to venture away from my favorite, the Steak and Eggs. I order the steak a lovely rare with the eggs over medium and have always enjoyed a perfectly cooked breakfast. Peg's is a little noisy and crowded which I feel adds to the whole experience. A couple healthy choices but those heart attack style dishes are perfect to end a night upon the town :)
Damn fine Eggs Benedict. Really tasty. Perfect lemony hollandaise, just the right amount of ham, perfectly cooked eggs. My dining partner's crab cakes Benedict was amazing - the hollandaise went even better with his meal than mine!
But my hash browns were not well done (as I'd asked for) and they honestly looked like glorified McDonald's potato patties. Definitely a frozen patty to start with. Not what I expected from all the glowing reviews of Peg's.
And the coffee. Undrinkable. The quality of the coffee in a breakfast joint is HUGE to me, and Peg's failed miserably. It was fresh on the Thursday morning I dined there with a co-worker - the pot was full. But the coffee was acidy, with no depth of flavor. Really awful, and darn-near ruinous to my breakfast experience.
But the service was friendly and attentive, the decor was nice, and the menu was quiet varied. I can see why this place would be packed on a weekend.
Would I go back? Sure. But I'd skip the coffee (at breakfast? uug.) and look for something else to go with my eggs ben.
Best breakfast in Reno. This is the kind of place you take someone who is visiting Reno who has a bad attitude due to shows such as Reno 911 and you want to show there is more to Reno than cops in hot pants. In other words, the kind of restaurant that can turn around even the most jaded of persons back to the side of Reno. Amazing breakfasts, particularly the eggs benedict. I want to meet Peg and give her a big ol' kiss on the lips!
I really don't get the hype about this place. I've had breakfast and lunch there several times. Breakfast is okay, but nothing to write home about. Lunch is very mediocre. Service is not great.
My biggest complaint is the smell that permeates my hair and clothing after I leave. I had a breakfast meeting there a couple weeks ago and the rest of the day I smelled like a stale, greasy diner. I couldn't wait to get home and take a shower.
Such great food! You have to come try Peg's. The owner was the former co-owner of Jacks, so they are very local. Great, innovative food, great service, definitely worth the try.
