Pedios Ltd
2 reviews for Pedios Ltd
I'm very happy taking my kids to pedios. Unlike the other poster, i've called each of the doctors during their pre-opening morning hours or on call at some point, and have always found them to be very patient (even once when i could hear the doc's family singing happy birthday to one of her kids in the background!). all of the doctors are so patient and understanding with my kids, happy to talk me thorough all my questions at each visit, and always supportive and respectful of me and my kids.
I've seen most of the pediatricians in this practice. It's run by Dr. Claus, who is an older guy that looks like Dick Van Dyke. He's really warm and friendly and great with kids. I have always tried to see him when I get appointments there. However, one time I brought in my 2nd infant and he didn't know that corn syrup was dangerous for babies under the age of 1. One of his nurses had recommended it for constipation, but it even says on the Karo Corn Syrup website not to use it for infants.
Heather Hawkness is also a really friendly and warm pediatrician.
Dr. Wegner, however, is the doctor I had an issue with. They have a number you can call at any hour to get the doctor on call. My oldest son had a really high fever once and I called the number around 9pm on a weekday night and got Dr. Wegner. She was clearly annoyed at the disturbance from the phone call, no attempt at all to hide the fact that she didn't feel like being on call. She asked me in a rude tone whether my son was even a patient of her's (just like that), and then she said it's just a fever, not a big deal, just give him tylenol and advil together, which sounded sort of strange to me. The fever was 104, which is really high. To tell a mother that something is "not a big deal" is pretty bad too in my opinion. When I questioned her for the use of two medications together she said "Whatever. It doesn't matter to me". I was pretty disturbed by her attitude and told Dr. Claus, who was extremely apologetic and told me he would talk to her about it. Nevertheless, that was my last visit with them. I want to be able to talk to a nice doctor when I need to make the emergency phone call.
The office is very pleasant, I generally don't have trouble finding parking there, right in front, and I have never had to wait long to get into my appointment. I find the nurses really friendly, not so much the front desk staff though. They must have a lot of visits from Pharmaceutical reps, there are always tons and tons and tons of free samples of various baby things available. Although they were a little stingy with the formula.
