6 reviews for Pedicute Nails & Spa
I've been scoping out nail places close to my place lately, and I stopped in here this morning without an appointment.
The place is spotless clean, super quiet (they play classical music instead of loud infomercials or even jerry springer like one place i stopped in!), they keep a box with a nail file and buffer that is JUST yours, and will even log your favorite nail polish colors if you want. I also like seeing the tools go from my fingers to barbasol to an autoclave. Just saying.
And speaking of polish, this place may very well stock the entire OPI line. Seriously. They have more colors than you can buy at Ulta. Even the yellows, blues and greens.
The manicure is more of a "spa manicure", so it will run you 15 bucks, but she was absolutely meticulous about my cuticles, gave a nice hand massage (with vitamin e oil beads) and all that goodness.
I hope the polish looks as good in a few days as it does now.

I was drawn to this place by the $1 manicure with purchase of a pedicure deal. I had really high hopes--everyone gave it a great review--and wanted to like the place. Sadly, it was a dud.
Pros: Decent magazine selection, clean, decent color selection.
Cons: Many:
- The staff weren't super-friendly. I noticed a couple of air bubbles in my mani, and the tech just kept saying "Where?" and glaring at me, as though I was insane. She ended up redoing a couple of the nails with bubbles in them, but the mean service was not a plus.
- I understand that you're going to get nail polish on my skin--that's okay. But instead of cleaning it up as she went along, she let the polish sink into my skin, and then wiped all the extra polish off at the end with a piece of towel dipped in remover. That was fine, except that she ended up removing the tippy tips of the nail polish on my nail--the nails started chipping pretty quick as a result. Also, using nail polish remover to get rid of the over-run makes sense, except that...
- She filed my nails way too short. I bite (yes, my own fault--but I'm getting much better!), she noticed, and then, as though in punishment, she firmly grabbed each finger and filed off as much nail as she could muster. I cried out several times, but she didn't really let up. Yes, I bite my nails. But they're not super-short (not to the quick!), and I've never had this over-filing-ouchie problem at other nail salons. And the over-filing, combined with nail-polish-remover treatment, was super unpleasant.
- The pedi was sub-par. I don't know whether other places I've been just do a much better job or what, but I was really disappointed by this place. It was relaxing, but my polish chipped literally ten minutes after I walked out the door. I was frustrated with the experience and didn't even go back for a fix. My heels were still not well-scrubbed when I left (and they were in much better shape then usual, as I'd recently had a pedi at http://nail.com).
- Finally, a little thing: they seem to skimp on the supplies. Off-brand topcoat/basecoat. Not a nail salon expert, so I don't know if this makes an actual difference, but if this makes a difference to you, I'd recommend somewhere else.
Result: I've tried bunches of nail salons around town (usually lured in by the siren song of specials, like this one), and nothing beats http://nail.com.

I've been wanting to try this place on the corner of Belmont and Broadway for a few months. I finally got there today and I was very impressed.
I received a terrific mani/pedi plus eyebrow wax. I was so relaxed and comfortable that I wanted to take a nap right there. Seriously.
If only I could get a refund from all the other salons in the neighborhood that I have tried...none of those places came close to the level of service at Pedicute.
Get your tootsies over there! Relax and enjoy!

Great for brows!!! So nice and professional!
Amazing place! Always clean, never too crowded or too loud; pleasant, polite and professional staff, never a wait. I've gone there several times now, for mani/pedi and eye brow wax, and was very happy with each service. And it was not overpriced either, like so many places around this area! Am definitely going back there again!

Pedi-cute is a nail salon that just opened about 4 weeks ago. It is running a GREAT special right now: Mani and Pedi with free pedi-paraffin wax for $35 (normally, that would be $50). I had Haemi as my nail tech, and she was VERY Friendly. The environment is cute and ver welcoming. They also give a nice massage on the pedi and mani, and when you sit to have your mani dry, they even give yo ua nice little shoulder massage too. Very cute, affordable nail salon!
