In comparison with the chains of sandwich shops, Pebble's is a good place to go.  The lady, I'm assuming she's the owner, does a great job of making customer's feel important, especially when it gets busy during the lunch rush.

The only downfall I can possibly think of is their hours they are open.  I'd fully encourage anyone who goes there to go with their in-house bread that they make with any of the sandwiches you end up going with.  My favorite would have to be the Kim's Special.  There's just something about their meats and veggies that taste and look really fresh.

After class around lunchtime I find myself wandering over to pebbles to grab a bite to eat. It's right around the corner from De Anza so its pretty conveinient. I've eaten here a billion times, and every time I go the lady who works is so friendly and sweet.

I think my favorite sandwich is the Kim's Special, on sourdough. I don't remember what it has on it, but I know I like it. They also come with little cups of cole slaw and macaroni salad..Which are both really good.

They have a nice little patio on the outside to eat in if it's nice out, and my favorite table is in the back corner on the right.

Professions where I expect a relaxed, calm, stoner type:

- Librarians
- Gardeners
- Pool Guys
- Artists

Professions where I expect at least a mild sense of urgency:

- Firefighters
- Police Officers
- Air Traffic Controller
- Deli sandwich workers in a corporate area

I came for the bulgogi sandwich.

I smiled because it was a family run place.

I wanted to firebomb the place after waiting 25 minutes for a to go order.

I am one patient mofo but jeez.

This is like the 3rd time I have waited longer than at the DMV for a simple sandwich to go.

And like a 75 year old man taking a turn at 35 mph, the guys working at Pebbles have one speed and one speed only.

Slow and steady.

Meth.

Agree with the many Yelpers that I was happy to find this place that isn't a chain in Cupertino. I'm surprised Cuperino is so chain-oriented (esp sandiwches - Subway, Togo's, Le Boulanger, Panera, Lee's) - it definitely needs some more local character and Pebbles brings it.

Happened to be driving by and saw a sign for Pebbles Deli. It's right on the main strip of De Anza across from Symantec but slightly hidden away in a strip mall.

A number of interesting specialties - Cupertino Sub, North Beach, Joanne's Special, Mike's Special, Hot Meatball, Bulgoki Sandwich, etc along with many other sandwich options.

Tried the Mike's Special (turkey, roast beef, swiss) - on their homemade French roll. It was decent but nothing to go raving to anyone about. All the ingredients tasted about what I expected them to be. Their homemade French roll was fresh but didn't stand out.

What is nice about this place is that the Korean girl and older Korean woman (her mom?) working there are SO NICE and SO ENTHUSIASTIC when you come in. Hard not to like them. And there's a nice side patio area where you can eat outside.

Bottom line: THANK YOU for not being a chain. My sandwich today wasn't the best, but I'd be willing to come back to try more, esp the Bulgogi sandwich. And coming here is like coming home to your dog after a long day of work - you can't help but love the enthusiasm and attention from their customer service.  3.5 stars for the sandwich + 1 star for the service  = 4.5 stars.

Walked across the street from my work with a friend for lunch the other day for a pretty good sandwich.

Highlights:
- Not a chain: score here since Le Boulanger, Panera, and even Lee's are the main sandwichy places around here. From the look of it seems family owned which I like to see as well.
- Fresh meat and bread: no oscar meyer or wonder bread here!
- Fun combos with their own names: Cupertino spacial, Joanne's special, Mike's special, etc. We saw one with pastrami and pepper jack which looked appealing.
- Cupertino sub: turkey, bacon, and avocado
- Unique default toppings:
not just lettuce and tomato. The standard comes with the usual but also sliced mild and a bit sweet yellow peppers and pickles
- The have bulgolgi (Korean seasoned beef) which is certainly different amidst the rest of the standard sandwich fare
- Patio seating: nice options in good weather since I'm cooped up in an office all day

Lowlights (my flip side to highlights):
- Limited bread options: white, wheat, rye and sourdough roll. Pretty much covers most of the ones you'd normally order, but guess I'm now conditioned to seeing long lists of options.
- Bit spendy: 7.50 for just my sandwich but come to think of it, it's only spendy when you compare to places like Subway. Compared to Le Bou it's about the same and much better quality wise.

After coming here, I questioned why I didn't go more often. I'll be back for a solid traditional sandwich or to try their bulgogi.

I love this place.  Maybe a bit pricey, but their always so nice and helpful.  Good selection/variety of sandwiches, and all the food is fresh.  They even make breakfast sandwiches which is really kewl.  Their muffins are ok.

I'm a sucker for bacon.

So that goes without saying that I like their BLT here.  It's what I get about 90% of the time I do go here and it's a fattening piece of work.  I always get it with toasted wheat to try to help "neutralize" the fact that I'm about to eat slices of fat.  It's only good when you get it fresh after they make it and the bacon is usually pretty warm, crispy, and fatty... just the way I like it.  And I guess the lettuce and tomato actually does taste fresh from a organic produce store.

Now why I don't give more than 3 stars is that for one, their sandwiches are overpriced in my opinion.  $6 for a BLT and other sandwiches are around the same price or more.  Then another reason is that I've tried their other sandwiches, namely their subs and I felt they were a little underwhelming.  Not because of the ingredients that's on it, but I feel like it's a lack of that hasn't had me going back for anymore.  They even have a Bulgoki sandwich, but I actually don't recommend that one either... it's kind of weird having a Korean-styled meat in a sandwich and it gets messy when all the juices just drip out.  Then lastly, it's because the owners there are shady about their "free salad."  So they have a sign in the front that says "Free Coleslaw or Macaroni Salad with every sandwich," but the thing is that they will never purposely give it to you unless you ask for it.  It's not a really good macaroni salad, but dammit, it's the principle that they should already give it to you or at least ask if you want it.  It's like if I go to McDonald's and order an extra value meal, I expect them to give me my fries with that instead of having to remind them to give it to me each time.

But if you're looking into a bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich... these guys make a pretty good one here.  Just make sure you eat it right away, as when it gets cold, it's definitely not quite the same.

I came in here before leaving for a flight to Denver, of course I did not want to get stuck with Airport food! The lady working the shop was very sweet and the only one working. I hope she doesn't get crowds in....
*Well, this place used to be Allotta's deli and they were pretty good. I think she maintained some of the quality, but the sandwiches at the old place were just a bit better. My boyfriend liked the tuna a lot, I had the turkey. Turkey was definitely real, not processed. The bread they used to have at Allotta's though, had that freshly baked a hour ago taste and consistency.

This is a nice little deli with a nice patio.  The service is friendly and quick.  But the sandwiches are just okay.  I ordered the "Cupertino Club" on a french sourdough roll and it wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be.  I make the same sandwich at home, but mine tastes so much better.  They were too light on the avocado, too heavy on the mayo and the quality of the turkey wasn't great.  It  came with a sorry side of slaw that wasn't worth a second bite.  I plan on giving this place another try though - just because it's so nice.

This place is a good, quick bite kinda stop when everything else in Cupertino is packed to the seams (which is quite often during lunch, and I often have a short break for lunch!).  I'm actually chilling on their outdoor patio writing this...its a nice enough place, the food isnt distinctly good or bad.  It's a tad overpriced but the service is fast and friendly, and its a relaxing environment a hectic world of Chipotles and BJ's and Armadillo Willy's.

It's ok, nothing to write home about, but a nice break from the work/school day if you can stop here and eat on the patio.

Pebbles Deli-Cafe - This is a nice little place to go for lunch right on De Anza Blvd.  First time visit.  Unfortunately, HE couldn't make it this time!

SHE SAYS -

Food -  The menu is plentiful.  There are many different sandwich options as well as different beverages.  The turkey sandwich I had was a little small for me, since I had been on my feet working all morning long!  I was hungry and the sandwich was tasty..the meat was flavorful and not salty, the bread was soft and fresh, but it lacked density.  All the veggies were crisp.  But,  I needed a bit more to fill up my stomach for the nearly $8 I spent --- a little steep when you could get a Subway meal deal including 6" sub + chips + 20 oz. drink for $5 something!  But, needless to say.... I did leave happy and felt content.  By the time dinner rolled around I was starving!!!

Location -  Easy access and visibility from the street.  Quick parking.  Enough seating inside and adorable patio with umbrellas outside....pet friendly and cozy.

Service -   Fast and friendly service.  Food is brought to you at your table.

MAIN POINTS -

-healthy sandwiches, but on the small side
-pricey for what you get
-cute atmosphere

Not bad, not bad.  But then again not that good.  Much better spots to eat down the street on De Anza Blvd.  I had the Cupertino Club and it was ok but a tad bit overpriced.

The owners here are really sweet.  I often drop in for breakfast, when it is rarely crowded, and I am always recognized.  The McMuffin style egg sandwiches are quite good and the service is always great.

Gosh three or four stars for this cute little Deli...
I'll go with four because of the Patio.
The sandwiches here are good. The are mostly the regular Deli fare... Turkey and swiss, Italian combo (mortadella and salami), Pastrami, etc.
A small side of macaroni salad or coleslaw is served with every meal, while chips are separate (they have 'Dirty' brand potato chips).
I wouldn't say the sandwich I had stood out, or was different/ original... it was simple and tasty; what a good deli sandwich should be.
That makes this a go-to kind of place in that you know exactly what you are gonna get.
I'm trying the Bulgogi next time.

This place makes the freshest deli sandwiches in the area, each one made to order.  Many different types of bread, always soft and fresh, great Turkey and other sliced meats.  They have a fine list of suggestions on their board, but will also customize your sandwich with all the particulars you specify.
You really should eat outside here, it's sunny and warm with shady umbrellas and trees to keep you partially shaded.  They have a nice outdoor fountain/planter with special attention to detail in the landscaping.  If it's nice enough to sit outside, a trip here is worth it just to enjoy their special patio.

Really good sandwiches that just seem a little bit different than the standard sandwich place.  The bread seems fresh and everything seems to be good quality. They have a sandwich called a bulgogi sandwich.  Bulgogi is Korean BBQ which tastes good in sandwich form.

I went here last week and had a great experience.  In fact, I even told people at work about it.

However, when I went there today the order-taking-girl was SO rude to me that I left mid-order!!  They need to learn some customer service techniques!!

Their sandwiches are nothing to write home about, and they are not cheap.  The one thing I liked was that they had croissants for bread choice.

I ended up at Whole Foods for a croissant sandwich that tasted much better than the one I had at Pebbles and it actually cost less at Whole Foods (sandwich, regular sized bag of chips and a can of soda) compared to Pebbles (sandwich, small bag of chips, large soda).

I actually send an email to the people I had told about this deli "un-recommending" it.  Too bad ...
