While I was living in Portland, I was fortunate enough to be a patient at the Pearl Health Center - housed in the Eco-Trust building in the Pearl. Their offices are open and comfortable - the opposite of a sterile medical suite in a high rise. The Pearl Health Center offers "Western", Naturopathic, Chinese and Chiropractic medicine, as well as Massage Therapy and Mental Health services.
I saw Shari House FNP and felt very comfortable with her. In addition to being very thorough with my exam, she had a calm demeanor and was as attentive during my initial visit as she was on the phone to follow-up a few weeks later. I highly recommend Shari - as well as the Pearl Health Center. It was great to go somewhere that offers both Western and alternative medicine in an environment that is professional and also feels accessible for people who know nothing about medicine, like me.
They have recently offered an alternative to health insurance plans - for a yearly fee you are eligible for six visits ranging from Annual Exams to Urgent Care to Acupuncture to Mental Health Services. What a great idea and a good deal! If I still lived in Portland I would gladly be a patient at the Pearl Health Center.
