My car was missing a random part, and Mini would have charged over $200 for a replacement. It was not crucial to the running of the car, but it was certainly annoying.  Jason kept his eyes open, and when he found something that would be a suitable substitute, he gave me a call.  Within 10 minutes, the problem was resolved, and he refused to charge me for it.
Have I mentioned how much I HEART him?  Bye, bye dealership.  It is official.  We are broken up for good!

My sister and I share a VW Cabrio that has been having a bunch of different issues for years. My dad always insisted on taking it to the local mechanic who would charge a lot of money and the issue would return in a day or two. I came across Pearch Autotech on yelp and thought it was worth checking out considering the high rating.

Pearce Autotech did not disappoint! Not only did they fix the issues (the check engine light that has been on forever and a broken airbag), it was fixed for substantially less than the local mechanic estimate. He also changed the spark plugs and washed the car without charging more... and might I add that the car was in dire need of a wash.

There is no one more knowledgeable about VWs and more helpful, honest and interested in fixing the car. The Cabrio was back in service within a week of breaking down and is driving better than it has in years!

Thank you Pearce Autotech!

So, my check engine light went on and the bottom on my car starting rattling and announcing my arrival anywhere I went. Not cute.

I came to Pearce based on a recommendation from Advanced Audi & VW, because they couldn't take me soon enough.

I didn't know what to expect, but fixing my car here turned out the best repair experience I had with my 1998 VW golf.

I have had good luck with some repair shops before (including Advanced), however, this shop was ideal because:
-It was small and not intimidating
-Jason who runs the shop is super nice, professional, efficient on getting the estimate and major repairs done in two days.
-Jason offered cheaper alternative repair options instead of telling me to replace a bunch of parts. He also glued my door trim on as a bonus.
-After taking my car to two shops, Pearce's (third) estimate was by far the best.
- I never felt like I was being sheistered around, even though I know very little about car repair.

I wish Jason the best!

As a newcomer to the neighborhood, Jason Pearce has already received good reviews for his services. Reason? It is as good as it's claimed to be. I had a maintenance light come on sporadically. It bugged me so I brought it to the official Volkswagen dealership. They performed a 5 minute inspection and essentially told me they couldn't find anything wrong.

Jason reinforced that idea by getting underneath the vehicle, plugging in analytic hardware and refilling any fluids that needed refilling all while providing an hypothesis of the "phantom" problem. Very attentive to detail and complete with his thoughts. I'd go back...

My new spot to take my GTI! Jason was super easy to work with and explained what needed to be done and what he did to the car. He is very honest and keeps the price low and affordable. For these reasons, Im going to recommend my buddies to go see Jason when they need their car looked at. Way better than the dealer and some other mechanics where they try to take you for your money while doing an average job. Jason is a true professional and my car has found a new place to get serviced.

Yahoo!  There really is an honest autoshop out there.  Brought my Mini in for a door handle issue and left only $60 lighter and with a washed car.  Super nice, small, clean shop.  Will definitely use this place for all future services :)

My '97 Volkswagon is an enigma, wrapped in a conundrum tortilla with a side of WTF.
Great car, but it has more quirks than me and some refer to me as a "weirdo", so, take that as you will.
Anyway, Jason took very good care of my car and figured out the problem of my Check Engine light that has been on for 10 years because no mechanic has gotten it to turn off until the poor thing burned out on it's own.
That little bugger has screwed up my diagnostics for years and finally, I didn't pass my smog check because of it.
He was very patient with this request as it really could have gone either way financially.  But alas, the financial pendulum swung my way and he simply changed the bulb, reset my system and I was on my way with money still in pocket.
Extremely attentive, trustworthy and nice they even washed it for me!
I will definitely be back!

This is my first review on Yelp. Five stars means "Woohoo! As good as it gets!"  And that is exactly right for Pearce Autotech.

After reading other Yelp reviews I took my 2002 mini cooper to Pearce Autotech to have my clutch replaced and a persistent noise in my engine looked at. Jason was a professional with a true understanding of customer service. The experience surpassed my expectations for automotive repair. I'm not sure if it's because my car was limping by the time I got it in for repairs, but it feels like it drives better now than it did when it was brand new, seriously!

Really great place.  I shopped around for some major service on my Audi, and Jason gave a very competitive quote and did a great job.

This place is amazing and Jason is the best!  I took my car to the MINI dealership and they quoted me an insane price for an oil change and new tires.   My bf found this place on the internet so I called Jason and we made an appointment for the next day.  Not only did he do everything I needed done and more for a way cheaper price, but they drove me to work when I dropped my car off initially and Jason looked into better deals for me for another issue I was having with my car.  When he told me about iwhat he had found out, I told him I would hold off at this time and he didn't push me at all.  He said he understood.  Plus my car came back to me better than new.  An honest mechanic who gets the job done extremely well.  Bye bye MINI dealership.

Wow! I cannot believe I found  honest mechanic in San Francisco. Jason is a honest mechanic and a nice guy. He was very helpful, got my car running smoothly, and back home to Santa Cruz. I was on my way up to college in San Francisco when my car started running funny. I saw Pearce Autotech across from a BofA bank I was at and went across to ask if he could look at my car. He gave me a ride to my college and picked me up hours later. Did not charge much and was honest about what was wrong with my car.

First time NOT going to the dealer on my 06 Audi A6-- I had my brakes checked by Jason.  Told me I needed front brake pads.  Not only done for a WAY better price than dealer, but the guy was super cool, no dealer attitude and I was outta there in like 5 mins after I got there.  No waiting and waiting and waiting...  Awesome.  My new shop!!!

Still stoked.  Just had a free check-up!

Okay, I n-e-v-e-r write reviews but my experience at Pearce Autotech yesterday - I just had to! The clutch needed replacement on my '03 Golf GTI. Bummer! Even more so, as I was quoted almost up to 1.8k at various auto repair shops around town. Jason was able to do it for amost half the cost, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Best part: I was able to drop the car off the next morning and pick it up the following afternoon. Not only did he shop around for parts and got me a better deal, I also got my car back in awesome working condition, and also washed. You'll be definitely be in good hands with Jason!

I have a 2003 Mini and had just been searching for a good service place. The car had been in LA before and serviced at the dealer there. The best place I found in SF was all the way over in Marin, but was so-so. I found Pearce through Yelp and was about  to make an appointment when the clutch died. I got it towed to Jason. He gave me an estimate with worst case/ best case costs, depending on what he found when he took it apart and  offered me a ride home. He called with the good news, then called when car was done but said he would like to keep it over night because after doing so much work he wanted to start it up and let it cool down several times to make sure it was all fine. He found some wires mis-connected, rubbing unnecessarily and put them back the way they came  from the factory.  He showed me what was wrong with the clutch, answered all my questions, and gave me some clutch pointers that I asked for. He was great--just check out his website for his experience: http://pearceautotech.com

He only works on Minis (not BMWs), Audis, Volvos, Saabs and Volkswagens because he said the engines are similar and he would rather be really good with just a few makes of vehicles.

I am thrilled !

I've worked on cars for most of my life; but as times change, cars get a little more tricky. I aquired my '96 VW Golf for next to nothing, and put all new seals in myself - but then I couldn't get it timed correctly to save my life. I called Jason, and after explaining the situation he offered to clear all my codes and read any new codes for free! Not only did he do this for me, but also taught me how to time the engine myself. She runs like a champ now, thanks to Jason! Good quality honest mechanics are hard to find - Jason is most definately one of the good ones. I will be a customer of his as long as I own my German car!

I just had repairs done on my Honda crx with Jason and it runs like a Mercedes now, I can't believe it. Jason is very meticulous and will give you an accurate, honest analysis. Never-mind that he use to make the best pizzas EVER at the Club Deluxe, he really understands quality service, I felt like I took my baby to the best doctor in the world! I feel safe and secure that my car will get the best possible care. Kudos to Pearce Auto!
