There's really no reason for me to be in Orlando or on I Drive. However, if you are here for a conference as most people are and don't want to be near screaming kids, this is a great hotel.
Service - Polite and very accomodating.
Price - Great for what you get. Pretty cheap rooms if you shop around for prices. From CA, I booked a flight and hotel for 2 nights for $450.
Pool - Didn't ever look busy. Plenty of space and lounge chairs.
Rooms - Average size, robes, room safe, plenty of towels, flat screen tv, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, tv in the bathroom, water bottles, and morning paper. Beds and pillows are a bit soft for me.
Location - On I Drive across from the conference center. With in walking distance of shops and restaurants and a short taxi ride to Disneyland and Universal.
Miscellaneous - Love the ducks in the pond and how everything had the duck logo. Business center, gym, bar and plenty of restaurants on the grounds.
I lucked out when I stayed at the Peabody. I was able to get a room for my niece and I for $80/night. I kick @$$ on priceline.
The room was gorgeous. The bathroom was huge. We were up high, and had a nice panoramic view, but due to it's I-Drive location, the view was less than desirable. The room service we had for breakfast was good.
I loved the processional of the ducks. When I stayed here was when I learned about it; I didn't know about the original location in Tennessee. Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I pay full price to do so? Probably not.
The hotel was nice, clean and well kept. The staff was generally very good. However, the hotel is not cheap, and they charge for everything. There is a charge for the gym, which I would not mind, but it was small, had limited equipment, and I had to wait for machines. I also got a fedex package and they charged me 5 dollars to receive it. etc etc etc.
The Embassy suites down the street is as well kept, the rooms are bigger, and they give you a lot of things that this hotel charges extra for. I will not return.
We had out sorority spring dinner formal here a few years ago. The staff was friendly and attentive. The Peabody provided everything! Plus they didn't confine us to one area. We were able to wander up to the top floor where they have live ducks and swans walking about. We saw several birds walking freely in the lobby. Very cute!
We ended up staying the night and our room was great. My only complaint was the noise level in the morning. There were tons of kids running around. But that is expected in most every hotel in the theme park area.

I just spent two weeks at the Peabody for my company's start training. This is a nice hotel, although, I don't think the rooms aren't much differentiated from the other hotels. However, it is VERY clean, which is more important. In fact, the hotel manager came by every other day to make sure our rooms had been cleaned! That's dedication.
The highlight of staying at the Peabody is seeing the ducks! So cute. They come out at 11am and 5pm every day.
The hotel catering is okay. Maybe we just got sick of the food after eating it for ten days straight. There are lots of nice bars to hang out in the hotel lobby, and the hotel provides you with two trolley passes each day so you can go up and down International Drive.
The Peabody has a lovely outdoor pool and jacuzzi. We managed to sneak in a few hours of sun on a day when class ended early. It's relaxing and chill. Service at this hotel is impeccable.

5 for 5:
1.) Because there's a gold 'Peabody Hotel' sticker on that new roll of toilet paper when you get to your room.. with the little edge folded over, just how mama likes..
2. ) Because they sneak in like Santa when you're out and about for the evening and put little duck shaped chocolates on your pillow.
3.) Because the marble lobby, complete with fountain & a bar (when it's not teeming with hundreds of frat boys, and Budweiser beer bottles 'round midnight) is really quite lovely.
4.) Because they put me in a room where twice a day, I can watch/ listen the ducks be escorted back to their little 'suite' for the night.
5.) Because the Capriccio Grill downstairs serves up one hell of a 16 oz. Prime New York Strip Steak, of which the KTrain will partake in tomorrow night.

Positives - easy to get to, great bed, good AC, nice restaurants
Negatives - Valet parking takes forever, room service menu is limited,
club room snacks are nothing special,1,000 kids running around for something called pro-Scout.
The parking situation really dinged this hotel, we had to wait over 30 min on Saturday to get our car to drive to a wedding and barely made it. Also, the club room was nothing special in addition to running out of the food they did put out and explaining there was no way to get more. Next time in town, staying at the Ritz

Stayed here for a few nights last summer when I was in town for business. The hotel lobby is grandiose and the food at Capriccio Grill was quite good. They were way over-booked for some youth group convention or something - seriously, the lobby and elevators were ALWAYS teeming with teenagers - so I got offered a "upgrade." The "upgrade" was meh - a room on one of the floors that gives you special access to the complimentary continental breakfast and special concierge service, but the room was small and instead of a real bed, I had a Murphy bed. Not exactly the luxurious sleep that I needed after long days at work.
Cute little features included the duck-shaped soaps and the daily duck walk to and fro the lobby fountain.

I just hosted a social at the Peabody. 150 people were very well taken care of. The food was exceptional, but I really do not like basement ballrooms that hotels have for social functions. It is just hard to make them elegant, and they have so many big ballrooms at the Peabody a small gathering can be harder to find.
I think next time I would look for a nice local restaurant that could have hosted a private party. I presume there are several because of the "convention" economy.
This is a very nice hotel. Love the whole ducks theme.
The room itself is nice. It was clean. The beds could have been more comfortable than they were.
Also the TV was unimpressive. I was expecting an LCD for a place like this.
The in-room bar was cool.
The operator was very knowledgeable.
Their airport shuttle service is worthless.
4/5 overall.
Alrighty, now this place is really cool for a certain group of people or a litlle weird and a little left to be desired for the money. OK, COME WITH EXTRA COINS FOR THIS TRIP KIDS.
You had to pay for your valet or park in a lot 2 blocks away because they were doing construction...There was a resort fee per day for 2 bottles of water and a USA Today. Really..ok....im in club swank so I roll with it. The extra spacious lobby and bar is definitely a fab little place to hang.
OK ,now for the spectacle. This hotel is known for its famous duck walk....no this isn't the new soulja boy dance...ITS REAL DUCKS KIDS..equipped with a DUCK MASTER (he's of the human variety), that take a walk down the red carpet..OH WAIT..after they get off the elevator...yeah they ride the elevator from their penthouse....I'm sooo not making this up. They do this twice a day 11am and 5pm.
The room was nice..small flat screen in the bathroom but no flat screen in the mainroom. I thought for sure this place would have one....
The hotel overall was cool, but I think the rates are to pay for Donald, Daisy, and the fam's penthouse.... maybe I shoulda been a duck.
This is more like a 2.5/3 star review. I've been waffling over how to write this for the past few days.
I don't even know how to start this review. I just came off a crazy week long business event at the Peabody. While some of the staff were really great, a few were downright useless, and I feel, pretty strongly that our event only came off so well because of the competence of my team.
I won't launch into a litany of complaints but here are the highlights: freezing cold temperatures at the conference level--that were never fixed, a way too small room set up for my workshop of 30 people, the Peabody also forgot breakfast for those workshop attendees on that first day (it was eventually set up-but caused our session to start late), along with several items necessary for room set up--and, get this--a radio played--there was MUZAK blaring throughout the entire day. I had to ask probably 5 times before it actually went away. And at that point we were done.
Did I mention that there were bugs in my hotel room? Nothing like opening up a laptop that's full of flees. The hotel did handle it pretty well--but instead of knocking $$ off the rate of my room they gave me a box of chocolates. Awesome. Thanks for the milk chocolates with peanuts that I can't eat lest they kill me.
I won't even go into my vegan crazy rant about how F-d up the duck fountain is. Seriously. Disturbing.
The one great thing I will say about the Peabody is that it's a "grown up" hotel. The lobby and bar space are beautiful, the pool is gorgeous, and you're not likely to find many mouse-capped children streaming through--a big plus if you're in Orlando for a more grown up vacation.
As a conference space, personally, I didn't really enjoy it that much. I did hear, from a few colleagues, that some of our clients did enjoy their rooms and the hotel space (hey, who doesn't love TV in the bathroom?). So as a hotel, it's probably on par with other more high end hotels (save for, you know, the bugs I had to deal with). As a conference space, not some place I'd like to return to (if I had a say in choosing the location).

This is my second evening of six at this hotel and I love this place. Not ever ever coming back to Orlando, Florida but this is the place to come if you do. The weather here sucks by the way. Humid and disgusting. Anyway, back to the hotel. It's very large and reminds me of something you might find in Vegas. Very high ceilings and marble floors. You have the option to Valet or self park and self parking is free. That never happens in a large hotel. They don't even nickel and dime you for internet acccess. It's free throughout the hotel.
It is connected to the convention center so if you are here for a conference then this place works out well. There is a rental car place in the hotel so you can pick up from the airport and return to the hotel. Unfortunately they aren't open all night like the airport.
When I checked in they only had double beds when I had requested a king. When I "politely" asked for a king the woman at the front desk upgraded me to club level and got me the room I wanted as well. Talk about good customer service. Club level is awesome. Free food and free booze. Always a treat. The gym is fabulous and so are the grounds, pool and rooms.
They are very expensive. Conference rate is $193 per night. That's quite expensive but a great rate considering their rooms are over $300 a night usually.
One star off because Orlando sucks and their weather is even worse.

I stayed here with my Dad and the rooms were fantastic.
They put on the cutest show once a day which they are famous for. They roll out a red carpet and blow some trumpets. Then, the ducks walk the red carpet and ride the elevator up (no customers can be in the elevator with the ducks). The ducks ride to their own room at the hotel. In the morning, the ducks walk from their room to the fountain!
Very cute! This is a must see especially if you are staying at the hotel.

This is a nice hotel, but I expected more for the price. I stayed there about a year ago and barely remember the room. That must mean it was just typical. But very clean, which is always a plus!

This is a fine hotel... The breakfast buffet is great (complete with a full-time omlette/waffle chef), the pool is nice and the rooms are comfortable and not cheap-looking either. The gym is small, but usually has open machines, even when big conferences are in town. The 24 hour snack shop in the lobby is pretty sexy as well.
I asked about the duck as the logo and there is a long complicated story about how the ducks walk from the lobby into the fountain every morning. I'm wondering... what are they doing in the lobby all night?
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Our room was quite spacious and very clean. The bed especially, super comfortable.
Very nice hotel for a retreat from the kiddie world of Orlando. Still child and family friendly. Great to watch the march of the ducks.
I'd suggest going out for breakfast though as the b-line diner is quite expensive for simple grapefruit, coffee & danish. Grapefruit it'self is almost $5.
After spending a day at the various theme parks in the Orlando area dealing with families overrun with hyperactive kids, staying at the Peabody - which caters to corporate types headed to the convention center across the street - is the best way to calm your jangled nerves and attain inner peace. The public rooms are grand, with gleaming marble halls lined with priceless art and artifacts, and the grounds are landscaped with soaring palm trees, cascading waterfalls, and exotic orchids among the many blooms. Even the least expensive accommodations - decorated in shades of beige, bronze, and sage green - are spacious, with two doubles or one king bed and a sitting area with an overstuffed chair and ottoman. Telephones have two lines to accommodate dataport connections, and wireless high speed Internet access is available. The marble bathrooms include a miniature TV, hair dryer, designer shower amenities, and plush terry robes. The property features a health club with state-of-the-art equipment, Olympic-sized pool, four tennis courts, and a variety of dining options, from casual to elegant. The hotel is famed for its mascots, the Peabody Ducks, five mallards which, at 11:00am every day without fail, waddle off the elevator and into the lobby to spend the day frolicking in the atrium fountain until 5:00pm, when they return to their no doubt luxurious quarters. Needless to say, the main restaurant - dubbed Dux in homage to the feathered quintet - does not serve roast duck or foie gras.

we had high expectations staying here. upon arrival the room seemed nice and then we started walking about. first off, there was a ton of water under the bathroom sink. so i dropped a few towels on top of the water before i went to call the reception. but before i could do that i noticed something on the bathroom counter and immediately ran for the phone. now this is the an abridged version of the conversation w/ the concierge:
Me: I have 2 complaints
Concierge: Sure what are they?
Me: First there is a ton of water in the bathroom and it looks like the place wasn't cleaned properly.
Concierge: Sorry to hear that, we'll send someone up. What's the 2nd complaint?
Me: There's a freakin' DEAD COCKROACH on the bathroom counter!!
Concierge: Really? That's pretty disgusting?
Me: Um... you think?
needless to say they moved us to another room. but they offered just an apology and that was it. i would think a dead filthy insect would warrant a bit more than a "I'm Sorry!" oh well. the room was the same and they are nice but nothing better than a decent marriott.
the hotel itself though is beautiful and hence the 3 stars...
