Review from Chris Y.
My experience with Pea Soup Andersen's Inn was a very pleasant one. I found this place to be a great value and very cozy. It's also very close to the freeway and only a 10-15 minute drive to Solvang.
The rooms were not fancy, but they were adequate, clean and comfortable. A sliding patio door opened up to a small, but private patio area and a walkway that led to the center courtyard. They have a heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, a small circular house to enjoy continental breakfast, and even a putting green.
The room we got had a microwave and small fridge hidden inside a cabinet. It also had a flat screen TV.
The staff here were very friendly. I asked if we could borrow some putters and golf balls and they said, "Of course! Feel free". My kids loved it. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. You also get a discount if you choose to dine at their restaurant next door.
Downsides would have to be the decor (which is dated) and the free Wi-Fi (which has a very weak signal unless your near the lobby). But the price was one of the best in the area. A little more than Motel 6, but WAY better in terms of quality.
The next time I visit Solvang, this place will get serious consideration. Great for families, convenient location, and easy on your wallet. 'Nuff said. -

We wanted to visit Solvang over the Thanksgiving holidays. The hotels/inns at Solvang were either solidly booked or way expensive. We choose Pea Anderson based on the other reviews given on tripadvisor. This inn is about 5 minutes drive from Solvang downtown, but yet is much more economical option.
The rooms are a little dated, but comfortable. We had the 2 queen bed options. The walls are a little thin, so we could hear TV noise and loud conversations from our neighbor's rooms. In the room, there is a bar fridge (no loaded drinks/alcohol, thank goodness) and a microwave! Perfect for a travelling family with little kids like us.
Continental breakfast is included, in a quaint building in the middle of the courtyard. Simple fair (pastries, bread, coffee/tea/juice), but good enough. Pools looks ok, we did not try it. There are putting greens and a lawn bowling strip.
Oh, we also got a $10 voucher for the Pea Anderson restaurant next door, for staying at this inn. The restaurant is pretty good too! The pea soup is famous. Has a historical exhibit of Buellton on its second floor, if you are a history buff.
Room Tip: If you are afraid of noise, perhaps ask for a room as far away from the middle courtyard as possible. -

As someone once told us, the hotels in this region are either $100 or $400. This is priced on the lower end of the range.
We love the price, location, etc. Also proximity to the freeway, great breakfast places, etc.
It is basic, clean, friendly staff, etc. Free Internet in the room, wireless is in the office. Plus real refrigerators in the room!
I am amazed at some of the reviews here - here are my comments:
- Yes, a lot of these reviews are older. This place has been here forever. They have done a number of upgrades over the years we have been coming here.
- Restaurant - No there isn't a restaurant. Yes, there is a continental breakfast (fresh danishes, toast, muffins, coffee, tea). But you can walk to three different breakfast places that are outstanding - Ellens, Mother Hubbards and Las Tres Rosas (Mexican) more than make up for that.
- Wine Glasses (or lack of?) - Seriously? Did you not go wine tasting, and keep those?
- Body Soap / Conditioner and no shampoo - Seriously? There are very few hotels I would consider using the shampoo/conditioner. I like the dispenser for the body soap (I hate the little soaps).
If you are looking for more, you need to pay more. Alisal is $400 per night - try there.Listed in: Places I go in Santa Ynez

You get what you pay for. This obviously isn't one of the better hotels in the area, but for the price, I felt Pea Soup Andersen Inn is a great deal.
The room was clean, the check-in was very fast and friendly, the swimming pool was quaint. The microwave/fridge in our room was such a pleasant surprise! Perfect place to chill your white wine and cheese. They also had a computer/printer you can use at the lobby. I was overall very happy with my stay here. I recommend this place to the budget conscious traveler out there (like me). -

Came here thinking that this place was going to be great as I was only staying for a night, and as Solvang is so close by it was very convenient. However, I did not have a great experience here. Got there from nor cal in the afternoon and then left to have dinner until the evening. When i came back that night, I noticed a huge scratch in my driver's side bumper and along the side of my car. A couple came up to me as they were getting back from dinner and said they saw the person who parked too close to me and as a result, hit my car. They were very nice and reported it immediately to the front desk staff. They described the car to me and also the staff lady whom they had talked with. So I went in there to talk to the staff lady, I didn't catch her name but she had dirty blond hair and huge bags under her eyes. She didn't even write down the right information, she thought they were in some room and called the room but it wasn't even the right one. She claimed that by the time she went out to the parking lot the car was "gone" and that she couldn't do anything about it because she didn't see the car.
I then went back to the couple as I saw what room they went to, and even though they didn't get the license plate( because after they reported it they thought the staff lady with the bags under her eyes would have done something) They also told me after reporting it, they walked back out to the parking lot and the car was still there. They front desk lady did not even call the police or try to get the car's license plate, and the couple further confirmed that the front desk lady didn't even seemed like she cared because she was not in a hurry to go and check the scene of the crime... If she had, then maybe I would have been able to contact the person who hit me. All she said was "he wasn't a guest" so that wasn't helpful at all.
I think the staff here is terrible, I don't think I would ever stay here again due to the lack of respect for their customers and disregard for customer's cars. Be careful if you come here, because apparently they have many people who just come, park their car too close to yours, HIT your car and then leave. Watch out for the lady with bags under her eyes, she should be fired. I find her to be not only incompetent, but uncaring and unworthy of even having that job or any job.
Also, the hair dryer did not work in the room. -

They had great rates especially for a weekend and they were in a great location 2min from Solvang. We saw people actually walking to the hitching post. The rooms were clean, nice bathroom, except bring your own shampoo and conditioner. They have one of those 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash dispensers. The fridge was nice and big and having a microwave in the room was great for heating up leftovers. We didn't use their pool but it looked well maintained, someone cleaned it every morning. I would stay here again.

After 4 years of riding from S Cal to N Cal with my good friend and looking at the billboards for miles, we finally decided to stop at Anderson's Split Pea soup and give it a try. While the whole restaurant and Inn is an experiance in itself, we went inside for some dinner, and the soup was what we both wanted to try.
A confession to make, I've never had Split Pea soup before, however it was good. I guess I still prefer potatoe soup to any soup. But this soup had good texture and good color. It was thick enough, and I liked how it still had pea particles in it. I guess some of tHem got away while they were being hammered! If you are like me and driving pass the billboards wondering whether or not to try it, I recommand you do so!
The whole complex is a huge tourist trap. The lobby has a lot of junk to buy. You know, stuff that people might go " OH that is Sooooo cute."
All in all, a good pit stop, and a good place for world famouse, Pea Soup!! -

Surprisingly nice rooms. Love that pea soup colored bed spread also.
They were nice enough to allow us to get into the room 3 hours early (although they constantly told me they could not guarantee it). Much better than having to get ready for a wedding in our car.
This was better than our "fancy" hotel we stayed in during our trip to Chicago. -
Review from Jim M.
Visited Solvang for the first time ever this weekend. A good friend of mine was getting married and they had a block of rooms at Pea Soup Andersen's Inn for those that wanted to stay overnight.
The inn was great. This is not a fancy place, but from the ladies at the front desk to even the cleaning staff, everyone was extremely nice and welcoming and we just had a really great experience. The inn is clean and perfectly located for tourists visiting the area.
First of all, I wish I could write a review on the Santa Ynez area itself. Effen gorgeous. The parties and wedding and everything was just great. I would venture to say that most guests come to this area to sightsee and like that majority, we weren't looking for a five-star hotel to stay at. We were in the room to shower and rest... and for that it was perfect. -

I also recommend bringing your own pillows and wine glasses, but our stay here was overall good.
The price was excellent, and the rooms very clean and well-maintained. Nothing within walking distance will turn you on, but the restaurant coupons for their property the next building over didn't go to waste. The food was good but the crowd was lame. This is definitely NOT a sexy hotel (which is good in its own way).
We also sat in the hot tub, which was ok, not gross, just not luxury at its finest.
Stay here if you need accommodations under $150/night, value cleanliness, and don't mind driving (5-20 minutes) to nearby vineyards and other attractions. -
Review from Randy C.
They like their astroturf.
Hmmmm.... where to start? Let's go over the good things. They had rooms available at 2:00am after we grew weary of the good places having no vacancy. Parking was easy, specially since I was pulling a trailer. Room was cheap.
BUT... the place looks very run down. Stained carpet on the walkways. The cable loop security system is silly. The interior of the room was early american clown.
Now I can deal with all of that. I like mom and pop places along Route 66 for example. I enjoy a place that uses those hard little soaps and puts bands of paper over the toilet, which was "sanitized for your protection." That shit is awesome. The crap TV is fine. The brown crayon water that was supposed to to be the room coffee pot, well ok.
But the bed sucked dead bunnies up a straw. It was hard. The pillows were hard. And instead of air volume to keep up warm (fluffy comforters?), they used mass... so the layers of blankets were just heavy. You know when you can't lay on your back because your feet get squished by the bed coverings? That is not good.
I did not bother with the breakfast. I was just happy when I got up and my truck and trailer were still there. Yay. -

3.5 Uber kitsch.
Any hotel that goes by "Pea Soup" is exciting in my books.
Pricelined this bad boy for $80 a night and got a room with 2 queen beds. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The room was actually quite respectable as well, I just wish they had glass cups instead of plastic http://P.O.S.es because we brought some wine to drink in our rooms and had to use le pastik - keepin' it classy as always.
The middle of the hotel has a mini golf course complete with astro turf. There is also a pagoda in the center where brekkie is served (coffee, bread, fresh pastries).
The front desk peeps are laid back and cool. The computer (free wifi) wasn't working so the front desk guy let me use his personal lap top. I was drinking wine from my plastic cup all at the same time (you, know making my rounds, etc).
Good location if you want to cross the street and go to the Hitching Post for dinner. -

Los Angeles, CA
You know, hotels are expensive these days. And when i'm not going away for a romantic weekend (ha, what's that?!) I don't really need anything fancy. Just give me a nice bed to sleep in, a clean room and a safe area and I'm pretty much happy.
The BW Pea Soup Anderson's pretty much gives you all of this and the price tag is just right. Our room was $72 and was BIG. Like everyone else has mentioned, they have a gazillion cable channels. But the best part of this room for me was the really nice secluded patio right off the room where I could smoke. It was nicely blocked off by bushes so I could go outside and smoke first thing in the morning and not worry about the neighbors seeing me.
Next time I'm in the area, this will definitely be where I stay. -

I don't know where richard k. stayed, but there is a restaurant- y'know- called pea soup andersons restaurant, it is part of the inn, and has been there for- I don't know- a hundred years or so. Quaint, homestyle cooking- very pleasant.

If the rating would allow me, I'd give this place 3-1/2 stars. It's a wonderful little place with decent prices, clean rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and a really nice staff.
Checking in was very easy and we got a room on the 2nd floor in the back. We knew all the lodgings in town would be full due to the Solvang Prelude, and this hotel was no different. And it was surprisingly quiet!
Their pool is heated and we were looking forward to using it since it has been unusually hot this November, but of course, the weather would choose today to have cloudy skies and showers. My young daughter and I got to use the putting green though!
They serve a small continental breakfast in their gazebo situated in the middle of their courtyard. Breakfast consisted coffee, juices, muffins and toast....just enough to start the day, but they provided a 10% coupon to the coffee shop next door. There are many other eating establishments within walking distance though. Oh, and they have free wine tasting coupons for Fess Parker! :)
If I would have one complaint, it's really a minor one: the t.v. in the room was pretty old and I got frustrated with the sound and remote control! :) Other than that, if ever in town, we would stay here again! -

Fremont, CA
In the world of hotels like this, this one is pretty awesome! We booked a two night stay for one of the busiest holiday weekends, July 4th. The total cost came out to about $220 which was about the same or a little less compared to similar hotels in the area.
The queen size bed is HUGE. It feels like an extra wide queen size bed and you can even fit three people on it comfortably. The room was very clean in all aspects. The only thing I found annoying was the little window by the door doesn't have a curtain so light comes in and wakes you up no matter what.
Staff was very friendly. Check-in and check-out was quick. There's continental breakfast every morning and their danishes are okay. If you want the best danishes of your life, make the quick five minute drive over to Solvang.
I didn't get to try the pea soup but I figure I wouldn't be the best judge of it anyway since I'm not a fan of the dish.
**UPDATED 8/12/08:
Stayed here again this past weekend but in one of their older, double bed rooms. It wasn't nearly as clean and nice as my first visit's room. But for the price, this will do just fine. Parking is good.Listed in: Solvang

If you are going for fancy, this isn't the place to stay. That being said, the bed's are comfy for the price, the room is a decent size, and it even comes stocked with a fridge and a microwave. This ends up being perfect to chill that wine you bought while wine tasting during the day.
The staff at this location are incredibly helpful. I went over Labor Day weekend this year and when they only had Friday night available, I called and told them I wanted Friday and Saturday night. They booked me for Friday and called me as soon as there was a cancellation. I ended up getting to stay both nights. This is rare in today's fast-paced internet world that a hotel worker would actually take the time to pick-up a phone and call and let you know.
I will definitely continue to stay here on my trips to the Santa Ynez valley. And with Best Western Rewards card (which is free, fyi) I will eventually earn a free stay. Granted, I only give this place 4 stars for the economical value for the area and not for the decor as the fancifulness is lacking. -
Review from Chynna Y.
Cerritos, CA
My family and I decided to stay at Pea Soup Anderson's because everything in the Solvang area was booked. It's a lot cheaper than most of the places in Solvang with a similar exterior charm. We booked three rooms all located a room away. It wasn't the greatest hotel in the area that I've ever stayed at. Most of the stars are given because of their amenities and price. The room its self is only worth one star.
Pros:
-Pretty cheap: $105/night (we reserved our rooms a week before, so I'm assuming if you book earlier it'll be cheaper)
-Pool and Jacuzzi in the center of the hotel.
-Miniature golfing area (more like a green with a hole, nothing too exciting, but I've never seen one in a hotel before)
-Free breakfast: Danishes, muffins, coffee, juice...
-Free Wi-Fi. I'm not sure if it's wi-fi, because you have to connect it to a router with a cable that was only 2 feet long.
-Rooms had a microwave and small refridgerator
-There were bbq's near the pool, no one bbq-ed but I thought it was neat.
Cons:
-One of our beds (we had two queens) didn't have a fitted sheet. It was just a sheet wrapped around the bed.
-The bathroom doors are a sliding door. Ours would get stuck in the middle. We didn't get it to close until our second night, after shimmying and inincredible force..
-Our clock didn't work.
I'll probably come back if there's no other choice in Solvang proper. -
Review from Julia S.
Stayed at this hotel because it was near the Santa Ynez wineries and based on a friend's recommendation. No hype, just a nice place to stay overnight in Santa Ynez area.
The "Danish" look of the hotel, makes it unique from other Best Westerns in its class.
Putt putt and bocce ball court - we actually played a round in the morning before we departed. Good way to start the day :)
Free continental breakfast.
Clean rooms, nice linens and comfy beds.
Not bad for $113/night on a weekend night in mid summer. -
Review from Marcia S.
I stayed here with my parents for one night. It was an uneventful stay, pretty much got what we expected.
Check in was smooth and friendly.
Stayed in room 212. It has a good sized balcony with chairs facing the pool. Our patio door had a broken lock however. Bathroom was clean, room was spacious enough for the 3 of us.
Parking was abundant right outside room. Hotel is next to a gas station and next to the restaurant, which hotel guests get a discount for.
I was disappointed with the breakfast. Muffins and pastries and toast. Juice and coffee. But it is served in a cute gazebo near the pool.
There is a putting green.
I didn't have problems here but in the future I think I'll stay in downtown Solvang so I can just walk to the shops there. -
Review from Danielle P.
RIVERDALE, MD
It was fine for what we wanted, a cheap, clean place to sleep and shower.
Pool is very small. Breakfast in the gazebo was underwhelming (Costco pastries) and our 2nd morning we opted to wait for brunch in Santa Barbara.
The room's "door chain" was a very grotty looking vinyl loop bolted to the door to slip around the handle. It really instilled a sense of security. Right by the freeway, so it's convenient.
This place should upgrade the decor, pull out all the astro turf, install electronic locks and real hotel room bolts -- but then they'd have to raise their prices so it's kind of a wash.Listed in: Santa Ynez Wine Trail

Comfort, danishes and more!
This Best Western is a steal of a deal with great discounts and a friendly staff when you're on a road trip to visit Solvang or if you're looking for a place to crash. The service was very good for the motel type and the rooms were clean, with comfortable beds to allow you to sleep after a long day's drive. Though the hotel is close to the freeway, it is very quiet at night. There is always a person at the front desk day and night, so they're accessible.
The breakfast in the mornings are also great here, too. The breakfast area is in a small white gazebo centrally located by the pool and the main office. We had danishes, coffee and juice and it was just perfect!
This Best Western along with other BWs offer discounts if you have AAA. Check with them if you have any memberships with affiliates/associations to see if you qualify for a discount. Good luck! -

Sacramento, CA
We were here for graduation (6/13/2009) stayed here for one night in a double bed room. Hotels in the area were booked super early for graduation, so this was it. At the rate of $129, I felt it was a little high for a Best Western in a small little town like Buellton and about 35 minutes away from the campus (it felt like 45 minutes).
Hotel: A little run down looking on the outside, but because they recently remodeled, pleasantly surprise inside.
Pros: Free breakfast of coffee, juice, toast, danish, and muffins
Easy access to freeway
Clean remodeled rooms
Pool with BBQ area
plenty of parking
free wired internet (not WiFi)
yummy danishes
Cons: noisy fridge next the bed, but the we didn't hear any other noise unless we open the windows or sliding glass door
Did not see any elevators to the second floor for wheelchair accessibility
Shared balcony with guest room next door (not too bad if they never come out, but not very private either)
weak coffee
35 minutes to beaches and ucsb campus
I would recommend this hotel/motel for a short stay. Better than most hotel in this class. Andersen Pea Soup restaurant is right next door with self-guided museum tour. Pancake House just walking distance. Ostrich-land is on the way to Solvang (a little Dutch looking village) for tourist and probably a good place for breakfast too! -

I have memories of growing up, our family on road trips up the coast. I couldn't wait to see the Anderson's signs on the 101, then countdown the exits till we arrived. We would ALWAYS stop. I think this is why I grew up loving split pea soup when all my friends wouldn't go near the stuff.
Sadly, the last few times I have visited this establishment as an adult, I have not been impressed. The prices are high, the service is slow and less than welcoming.
My most recent visit was not long ago - after finishing a long bike ride in the Santa Ynez valley, a big bowl of split pea and a sandwich sounded perfect (that and a LOT of water).
We were seated in the less than crowded dining area promptly. It took about 10 minutes for our waitress to come over - notebook out asking us what we wanted. What we REALLY wanted was a couple glasses of bottomless water. Another 10 minutes went by before we had our water and we placed our order.
Turkey Club for $10. Added on the Pea Soup special for $5 (a bowl of pea soup + drink).
I walked out of the place spending $19, getting one coke, the sandwich was good but the fries were stale! STALE!!! I only got 2 refills of water. We were met with a scowl every time our waitress visited the table.
It was an extremely unpleasant lunch. Anderson's still has amazing split pea though. I have learned my lesson. Next time I visit - I will only get the split pea and I will bring my own water. -

Made a last minute reservation here for our road trip to Southern CA, and my wife and I loved it. Also saved a few dollars thanks to our AAA membership. I couldn't spot the Best Western logo anywhere on the property when we first got here and was wondering if I'd arrived at the right place when we walked in. The lady at the counter was pleasant and polite, and readily accommodated our request for a room on the second floor instead of the first where we were originally assigned. She even picked one that had the best view among the ones available.
Our room was neat and clean with nice, firm beds and so were the bathroom and wash basin. Room service was great; we enjoyed nice danishes and muffins as part of the complimentary breakfast. The place also offers free Internet via data cable (no wi-fi). But you can borrow data cables from the front desk if you don't have yours....surfing speeds were pretty good.
The location was convenient for our trips to Solvang, Santa Barbara and the Santa Ynez Valley....highly recommend a stay here. -

This is our usual hotel when we're wine tasting in the area. Much like the Days Inn across the street, it's functional, no frills, but for some reason I find it slightly nicer than the Days Inn. Most importantly, it has a fridge. It also has a decent pool and jacuzzi; I've never seen anyone using the putting green, but that's there as well. I've always found service in the lobby to be friendly, and the rates are usually reasonable, especially if you get a good deal online. Unfortunately there is no free wi-fi. You can get an ethernet cable from the front desk, but the one they gave me didn't work. There's a complimentary continental breakfast in the gazebo, but as a hotel guest you can also get a discount at the Pea Soup Andersen's restaurant should you choose to eat there instead. It's convenient to the freeway, across from Ellen's Pancakes, close to the Santa Rita Hills AVA for wine tasting, a few miles from Solvang, and just down the street from the Firestone brewery. The Buellton Chamber of Commerce is also hidden behind the restaurant, should you require additional tourist assistance. One of these days I'll actually stay in Solvang, but in the meantime, this always works.

For some reason I thought I hadn't reviewed this yet but it turns out I already had. Original review below:

For my family, it's a tradition to stay here. When we were kids, our family would stay here when we went to Solvang, and as an adult, I stay here when I go wine tasting in the area. The location is perfect, the price is right, and the facilities are decent. There's a pool, the room includes a refrigerator (important when purchasing wine, especially in summer) and a microwave, and as the other reviewer mentioned, there are a million cable channels. The rooms are arranged in a square with a courtyard in the middle where the pool is located. One time, just to break from habit, I tried staying at the Day's Inn across the street, which is fairly similar but I find the service and amenities much better here. My main complaint, similar to Jill P., is that the beds are horribly uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night and woke up sore. It's OK for one night, but after several days you can't wait to go home and sleep in your own bed. Overall, though, I still think this is a decent place to stay in the area and recommend it as a home base for wine tasting. -

The Anderson Hotel wasn't the fanciest. It didn't have much as far as amenities. But, it was clean and inexpensive.
Unfortunately, the cons far outweighed the pros. The room wasn't very soundproof. We were located next to the stairway. And, I heard footsteps the whole night. The TV was ancient, the picture was slightly warped, and all the cable channels past 50 were nothing but static. The main lamp hooked to the light switch was broken. Etc, etc, etc.
I would stay here again if nothing else was available. But, honestly, there seemed better places in Solvang. Next time, I'll try there. -

Great hotel for the price. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The pool is heated and the spa is nice. Continental breakfast not so great but there are many good breakfast places within walking distance. I come to this area to go wine tasting every few months and would come back to this hotel.

three and a half stars maybe.
we stayed at this hotel for a friend's wedding and it was pretty standard. the hotel itself is adorable, and the rooms are clean and well-functioning. the pool area also has a mini-putt, which is pretty neat, and the free breakfast was nice. the staff was wonderful- very friendly and helpful.
it's really central for wine tasting, only minutes from solvang, right next to peasoup andersen's, which is a bonus in my book, and has all the amenities of a mid-range hotel.
my big complaint about this hotel is that the walls were INCREDIBLY thin. every time my neighbors opened their doors i woke in a panic thinking someone was walking in on me. we could also hear every word of every conversation they had... including some *very interesting* after party sounds. girls, if you're reading this, you should probably work on your technique. i don't think it's supposed to sound like that. -

I have fond memories stopping at Pea Soup on the way to L.A. as a child. I think it was the one off the 5 - but this is the original. For breakfast, I had the traveller's special - unlimited soup, a milkshake, and two kinds of fresh baked bread. I was embarrassed at my bizarre choice, then noticed at least two tables eating the same thing. Sometimes, you just want your shake and soup, no matter what time.

we stayed one night on our drive from los angeles to the san francisco bay area. we know, that drive should only be five hours along the 5, but when you have a chance to try a rich, smoky barbequed steak, and danish pancakes to die for, and taste a few santa barbara wines in a one-stop shop, then we think it's worth the extra night.
the room was about $20 cheaper than the other places, and it was actually quite pleasant. it looked like they recently renovated the bathroom and we had access to free wifi. it was still very convenient to solvang while being close to other ammenities (like a mcdonalds for that late-night run for a chocolate-dipped soft serve). the heating/cooling unit can be loud if you don't like that kind of white noise when you sleep. -

My stay here was July of 2006 and I enjoyed it very much, my only complaint is that internet access was not available in my room so I had to tote my laptop to the lobby everytime I needed to get some work done online. The place was comfortable and I would stay there again. I would say the most fun was being able to BBQ a steak on the outside Weber grills they have in the inner courtyard, next to the peewee golf (also fun).
There is a big grocery store nearby (it was Albertson's at the time, it's probably a Lucky's or a SaveMart by now) about half a mile away, that's where I got my steak and whatever else. Refrigerators and Microwaves in the room are a very big plus.
The famous Danish community of Solvang is only a few miles from this hotel and the Pea Soup restaurant is right next door, the best part being the very good Danish pastries they have. Speaking of the pastries, they have Elephant Ears if you like those....they are hard to find elsewhere, at least in my experience.
Nice gift shop, too.
I would love to give them 5 stars, but no internet access in the rooms is a very big minus, so bye-bye to 1 star. -

It's a nostalgia thing, nothing more. The soup was so-so. Best was the gift area. When you see all the Pea Soup Andersen signs on the freeway, you just have to stop. Besides, my hubby worked there as a teenaager so I had to check it out! He was leaving on a trip to Australia and told them he had to quit so he could go into rehab!!! :)

The famous Anderson's Pea Soup... may possibly be overrated. The pea soup, although good, wouldn't make me drive 300 miles just to taste it. My parents tell me they can make a better pea soup. I ordered a meal with the traveler's special (basically all you can eat soup w/ a choice of drink - I chose milkshake). There is no way you can eat more than 1 bowl of pea soup. If you can, there is no way you would want to.
