I sue people for a living. This makes me hungry. Something about the adrenaline rush of making someone regret being a total waste of legal space makes me crave food that sticks to my bones. And what's more comforting than cheese and tomato sauce on a warm, crispy crust? Nothing people, nothing.
The clock struck 8:30 last night and I was about to turn into a pumpkin if I didn't get my pizza fix on. This was no trivial matter. We found Pauly's on http://Delivery.com and ordered a pizza, a veggie calzone, cheese sticks and a soda. Well, forty minutes later we got a pizza, a calzone and garlic bread bites with no soda. Despite that snafu, we all began to quickly inhale the ever so important pizza. It was divine. Slightly greasy, garlicy tomato sauce with the right balance of sugar and salt and the crust was soft but stiff firm and crispy. This was good pizza. Period. The veggie calzone was about the size of my behind--said another way--it was LARGE and in charge. At this point we could only eat a bit of it and it made for a generous and tasty lunch today. Not greasy at all and the veggies were fresh and crunchy: broccoli, green pepper, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, olives. I mean this was like a garden rave party inside a doughy pocket. One word: Delicious.
The garlic bites that we got on accident were AH-MAZ-ING. So, so good with loads of chunky garlic and melter butter with some spices around these spiral dough balls. The garlic butter sauce was so good you could just slather it all over your mouth and fingers just so you could lick it off. Gross, I know, but well worth it!
We called the restaurant to let them know about the mix-up and they were completely top notch. They offered to give us $10 credit next time and a free order of mozzarella sticks. Pauly's is awesome and made this tired and cranky barrister happier than a pig in.....well....you know... -

If this place was anywhere but Chicago I would give it 3 stars, but with so many great pizza options it's amazing how this place is still open. The hand tossed crust isn't soft and mostly crunchy. It's almost like they use a thin crust recipe on a hand tossed crust. The sauce is bland and the toppings and cheese are average at best.
Do yourself a favor and go to Ian's down the road. -

Ian's is fucking packed, WTF. The line is out the freaking door and people are reporting they waited about twenty minutes! My buzz may not last long enough to endure the wait. What to do. Walk a little.
Where to go and get a decent slice! Fuck "Chicago Pizza" that shit is for tourists and its garbage, son. Still walking, hey wait.. check out Pauly's with their bay doors open. Pauly's has got a variety of pizzas kind of like Ian's. Not too costly and not Ian's, but still good stuff at 3 freaking a.m. I can see why some reviewers hated it. Try to use your good eyes when focusing on what's available. Some pizza's are coming and going, while others are sitting and have been doing for quite some time. Buy a slice of what's popular and maybe you'll like what we're eating.
Most patrons are cool enough to skedaddle after eating, so you'll find a spot to sit and eat. They have washrooms for the single available also.

It's difficult to gauge a slice of pizza through the haze of several $6.50 Red Stripes consumed in the glaring sunlight of the Wrigley Field bleachers and the subsequent beers consumed at Bernie's and elsewhere in Wrigleyville.
The first thing you think when you're sitting in Pauly's post-game eating a slice of pizza with sausage, pepperoni, Italian beef and bacon is that you're in heaven. You're eating pizza after several beers, a day in the sun and a Cubs victory. It surely can't get better.
But then a few of the live brain cells unaffected by the alcohol begin to start making noise in your cranium, and the following conversation occurs in your head.
Um, hello, dead brain cells, live brain cells here. Um, you're eating a piece of pizza made hours ago that was just re-heated. It's as dry as the Sahara Desert. See that piece of Italian beef there, son? It looks like beef jerky for a reason. Just a heads up. Enjoy your pizza and what might come later.
So, at that point, you realize you're eating a piece of pizza that may have once been good and tasty but is now well on its way to dessication. Nevertheless, you shut out those live brain cells and continue to enjoy the mirth brought on by the dead brain cells. Being a rebel is fun.
Anyway, overall, I would say Pauly's will do in a pinch but that you're much better off walking one block south to Ian's for fresher, tastier pizza.

I stopped into Pauly's on accident, but hey, why not order? So they didn't have what I wanted (tuna salad sandwich), but that's okay, because I ended up with the crazy-yummiest cobb salad evah!! I've had cobb salad before, and this was nothing like those were, but I think that's a good thing. Avocado, chicken and bacon (that the guy behind the counter cooked on the spot), the greens are fantastically fresh, the egg wasn't overwhelmingly eggy... actually, I'm still eating it right now, but I was so excited I couldn't wait until I was done to write about it. I also got three baby cannolis (pronounced gah-knoll-ies, you goofballs!), waiting for me to finish my salad.
The people in here were cool, and I can't wait to go back and try a slice or a calzone. -

This is by far the worst pizza I have ever tasted. It doesnt even deserve a star. The pizza taste exactly like spoilt bad frozen pizza, if you think I'm exaggerating, try it and you will be sorry. I know my stomach was sorry after I had it.

This is a nice place to grab a yummy slice of pizza after a game, before a game, or while out drinking on Clark Street. Big (quarter pizza) slices that taste good, are loaded with toppings, in a nice, clean restaurant. As we visited after a Cub game, we got pizza that was premade and waiting inside and heating box, so the jury is still out on ordering a whole pizza, sitting down, etc., but we'll go back next time it's late after a game.

PIZZA RAW-KET! PIZZA RAW-KET!
A Friend sent me a link to Pizza Ria's website and I got their awesome jingle stuck in my head for days!
Fast-forward about two years. I'm starving. I'm drunk-ish. I'm in Wrigleyville (Uhg!) and my friends and I decide the best way to rally is to get some Pizza in our belly.
Unfortunately, the pizza is not as cool as the jingle...not bad...but not great...just meh.
The slices are big and New York style (which I prefer) and they're open late but unless you are starving and coincidently end up out front, I would skip it all together.
But totally check out the website!

Always game for a new pizza spot, I ordered from here Saturday Night. It was kind of a bust-of-a-Saturday so I needed pizza. Stat.
Lucky for me, when I called Pizza-Ria the friendliest pizza order-taker EVER picked up. Honestly, it was like I was his long lost pizza-eating sister.
I ordered a pepperoni and pineapple pizza, and buffalo wings for my friend and myself. The menu has colorful pictures and the wings looked divine so I was stoked to try the spicy buffalo wings (with bones).
After a very thorough phone order, my buddy told me the ovens were slow (half of them broken??) so it make take an hour. Luckily, he had me at hello.
The pizza was GOOD and didn't take an hour (thank god). It was very flat and cut in large SLICES (Thanks again. Party slices may have put me over the edge). My least favorite part of the pizza was the sauce - it was a little too spaghetti-like for me (spaghetti and pizza sauce should taste different. They are cousins, not brothers). The wings were ATROCIOUS. They LOOKED disgusting and were way too fatty and rubbery. The spice was right but that's all. The picture put those boys to shame and I will NOT order them again.
Pizza-Ria was good, but not earth-shattering. Like grilled cheese, it is hard to screw up pizza. Still, there are many pizza places in Chi-town I like better. I would get a slice in Wrigleyville again but probably wouldn't order another whole pizza.Listed in: Pizza for me, pizza for you. .…

I love Chicago, I do. It's why I asked for the transfer, and I'm usually all about chiming in when people make fun of NY. But I'm not a fan of Chicago pizza in general; even though it can be very tasty, it does not make logical sense to cut a round pie into squares. It just doesn't. It's geometrically impossible. Sometimes deep dish is just too much. And btw, having to order "cheese pizza" is redundant. If it doesn't have a crust, sauce and cheese, it's not pizza. That's why in NY we call it a "regular" slice. Case closed.
This is just about the closest I've found to my beloved NY pizza. I can get a slice of pizza that is not too thin and not too thick, but just right. I can pick it up, fold it in half, eat it with one hand and have the one thing I miss about NY. And they're open late. And there is another location down in the South Loop, where I was able to grab a slice after Lollapalooza or the movies at Grant Park, or escape the Rosie O'Donnell segment of the True Colors show at the Auditorium to get some dinner and get back in time to see Erasure. -

Pizza-ria I feel for you. With Ian's moving in on your turf its gotta hurt business. But no worries, I will still venture to your fine establishment. When I stumble out of Sluggers hammered I am WAY TO LAZY to walk down 1.2 blocks to Ian's.....
Plus the barbecue chicken pizza still gives me wet dreams. :) -

Friendly service and great pizza. Maybe a little pricey, but worth it. They do not skimp on the sizes of the slices. I ate a Big Meaty slice last night and it was dee-lish.
Me and my buddies came in ten minutes before they closed and they told us "no rush", so we were still able to enjoy our meal there. Just an observation: there booth seats are unusually high. It made me feel a little more important than my lowly friends sitting in their little chairs. -

I've been to this place several times after a night out in Wrigleyville and love their pizza after knocking back a few too many. Although, I will say, the beers actually have made their quality of pizza not as apparent.
I just recently ordered from Pauly's sober... That's right, S-O-B-E-R in Wrigleyville. It's actually really good! They've got great food there and they are super friendly. They have so many options that I couldn't' decide. I told the manager that I wanted a spicy pizza, and he made one up for me with some arrabbiata (spicy) Italian sausage. Nice! -

We have never actually eaten here, but we get late night delivery from here quite often.
The service has been top notch until tonight. They had some girl answer the phone, and she had no idea which end was up. Who knows, maybe she was new.
I was not really a fan of the one time I had pizza from here, but everything else we have had has been super good!
Delivery is usaully pretty fast, even on game nights and weekends.
The pizza bread is good, it has small bits of real garlic in it. The boneless wings are pretty good too! -

My girlfriend and I decided to grab a quick bite here before a comedy show. We ordered a whole pie, being too hungry for "by the slice.:
The person at the counter said they would bring it out to us in 15 minutes. After about 40 minutes, and watching countless others go by eating their by-the-slices, I went up and asked about our pizza. Apparently, it'd been sitting there for a good 25 minutes, getting cold.
"dude.. sorry. I can put it in the oven again if you want."
I'm not a customer-service nazi, mistakes happen, but so does compensation, especially given that kind of oversight. An aloof remark failed to suffice on this particular evening...
The pizza itself? The crust was a little thick for my tastes, which is odd given other reviews. Maybe it was an off night, which is why the stars are averaged I suppose. -

I got one of thier menus in the mail and decided to give them a shot. I ordered a small pepperoni and some cheese bread and they said it would be an hour and a half. Luckily it only took 30 minutes.
Wow, that's a thin crust. It's a little on the greasy side, but tasty. I actually prefer a thinner crust becasue then I can eat more slices, feeling like I am getting more pizza when I'm probably eating much less than if I were eating one big deep dish slice. The cheesy bread was just okay, but it reheated well the next day.
There are so many pizza places around that I think I'll try a few more before ordering from here again. It was good, but not great.Listed in: Pizza Pizza!

I used to love this place. Ever since experiencing the Mac and Cheese pizza at Ian's I just haven't wanted to go back.
So last night I was going to class at iO and I decided that I wanted some Ian's. Well, unbeknownst to me, Ian's is closed on Monday's unless there is a Cubs home game. So, needing something to eat, I went to Pizza-Ria.
Guh. The sauce has a weird, green pepper taste. The sausage was tough and flavorless. The cheese was awesome, but there wasn't enough for it. And 4 bucks a slice! Yeah, it was a big slice, but jeez.
I also love how they claim to be the "freshest slice in the city" when they have big heat boxes of pizzas right up in front to pull from. I know Ian's does that too, but their pizza never tastes like it's been sitting out.
So if you absolutely need pizza on Clark and Addison and Ian's is closed, I suppose you're stuck with Pizza-Ria. Sorry. -

I know a lot of people that really like the pizza but I only find it to be decent. I am not opposed to going here again, but I just would probably end up grabbing a slice somewhere else. Sorry Pauly, but I am a sucker for Ian's.

Soooo sad. I've been looking for a pizza place that offered pizza more along the lines of my beloved NY style than Chicago's deep dish. The search apparently is not over. I don't know if they served me old pizza from the day before, because it was so dry I had to drizzle a little olive oil to resuscitate the poor thing. I ordered one slice each of white and plain. Both were abysmal. The regular plain slice had no flavor, sorry I meant bad tinny tomato sauce flavor, with the cheese practically non existent. The white slice fared a little better, but not much. Another weird thing, I ordered two slices, but got 4 scrawny pieces, which is why I think I got leftovers from the day before.

I discovered this place after coming home from a Saturday night out in Wrigleyville
Being a University of Illinois student, and relatively new to the bar scene here, I was just thinking I could go for an amazing pizza place along the lines of Antonio's before I hopped in a cab to go home. Then I stumbled across Pizza-Ria, whose bright sign summoned me inside.
I saw lots of people walking around with two slices, so I thought I'd get two myself. At 8 bucks, this was a litlte steep. Little did I know, everyone was actually walking around with one slice, which was cut by the staff into 2 smaller slices. So I ended up with 4 slices for 8 dollars essentially. At this price, I feel like I got a good value (although this was slightly too much food).
Perfect pizza after a night of drinking. Being in Chicago, I'm not sure if it would be my number one sober choice of pizza, but it serves its own purpose very very well. Check this out after the bars. -

It was 4am and my friend and I were both EXTREMELY intoxicated and hungry. Since Pizza-Ria was still delivering, and since we didn't have the attention span to really look for anything else we ordered. An hour later, we woke up to the doorbell, got our food, and began eating. OH MY GOD. It was, without a doubt, the best pizza I had ever had, drunk or sober.
Cut to 6 months later. I am now living in Chicago. I decide to order in one night and naturally choose the pizza that has been haunting my dreams for the past half-year. Eh, it was OK. Better than chain pizza (which, being from Kansas City, was really my only option for 26 years), but not THAT much better. When I later told my friend that I had eaten there again, she got really excited and asked if it was as good sober as it was that night. Sadly, it is not.
However, if you have consumed near dangerous amounts of alcohol, go for it. It will be the best drunk meal you have ever had. -

IMHO, The Little Caesar's on Addison out west near Elston is much better than this place. This is the only Pizza-Ria I have been to, but with the quality lacking as it was at this particular restaurant I imagine that I shall not venture to the other branches.
The pizza was bland and had a very...cardboard-like texture. I went there on a Thursday, last Thursday actually, after watching a buddy of mine play a gig at a bar nearby.
I agree with Ryan M, the price merits a little more love and effort put into the product than what we get. Go to Ian's. Or, better yet, go to Art Of Pizza on Ashland!!! ^__^ -

I won't go so far as calling this a New York Slice, but in this Otherwise Awesome Yet Void of Good Pizza City, it comes pretty darn close.

Terrible Pizza, even worse experience! The pizza was undercooked. The sauce and cheese lack flavor. I tried to order a couple different items on the menu and was told "we're too busy right now to make those items". Then why the hell are they on your menu? I have no intention of ever going to this place again. You should do the same!

I am not really sure what the Pizza Ria's pizza taste like under a sober state...but, it taste really, REALLY good under a slighty drunken state. The slices are HUGE and could probably be shared but why would you want to do that.
I have to give a hand to the employees...they put up with quite a bit of drunken shenanigans. They are very, very patient with the customers. -

I needed a late snack after a rough night, so my best eating buddy and I ordered some late night delivery from Pauly's. We ordered tater tots, garlic knots and two cheese pizzas. Tots and garlic knots were yummy, but the pizza... Probably the worst pizza I've ever had. The cheese was really dry and thick, made me feel pretty sick in the morning cause it was just sitting in my stomach. Yea the knots and tots were good, but not good enough to order from Pauly's again, unless I don't order pizza which probably will not happen cause I love my pizza...

Great slices! Not too expensive. Last time I was in there they brought me out some of their stupendous Garlic Knots to try for free. I have since been back and will continue to go there. Perfect for a slice place. My only complaint is that the beverages are by the can/bottle only and I'm a fountain man.

I order from Pizza Ria because they have online ordering through GrubHub- sometimes I don't feel like talking to people, even phone-hos. I had a slice from their North and Clybourn location and it was pretty good, so I picked them on the website. I would probably order from someplace else if I wanted to pick up the phone. The pie here is a little better than average, with a sweet sauce and a nice thin crust. I wish they had red onions, and I wish that they didn't put cilantro on their BBQ Chicken pizza. Other than that, decent!

My favorite part of Pizza-ria is the walk/stumble home after ordering when I try to eat the pizza off the paper plate without burning the roof of my mouth or falling down and breaking my nose. This should be an Olympic sport.

Pizza-Ria's good for a quick slice to go, or a late night snack on the way home from the bars. It's very reasonably priced and I think it's much tastier than it's neighbor, Bacci. They've also got some pretty decent salads and the 'create your own' option is fab. I don't know that I'd ever order a whole pizza delivered from here since there are several better options in the area.

Delicious pizza by the slice, and nice guys working the registers as well. If you don't like thin-crust then stay away. But if you do, then go, and go often. Quick, simple, and to the point. No complaints here.

cant really talk about the service because we had it delivered.
got the Hula pizza. it was not that great, maybe its because im not a huge PIZZA fan...
but sometimes pizzas are bomb when cold.. pizza-ria's pizzas are pretty gross when cold. then again, thats just me cus it looks like almost everyone else likes it on yelp. haha -

I'm a deep dish pizza fan, but man do I enjoy a slice of BBQ pizza from Pizza-Ria. The slices are HUGE and are pretty inexpensive for the quality. I'm a little bummed out that the one closed at the North/Clyborn train station.

I love the BBQ Pizza here, its pretty fantastic, other than that the other pizza is pretty average. The staff there has always been really good whenever I have been there otherwise I would give this place 3 stars. The line at 2 am can be a little sketchy but the place is manageable in spite of the potential of vomit at any time.
