Check this place out! I've passed this place on magnolia so many times, finally after reading a few reviews we checked it out. The burgers are great! There was a constant stream of people coming in and out. The place is nice and clean for a burger joint.
I'm from NorCal, and we don't have places like Paul's Place where you can get Greek food, Mexican food, and Burgers all at the same place--plus, they do all three types of food justice. I was there for a week, and I'm glad that my friends introduced me to the place. The first time I went I got the lamb gyro which was phenomenal and made me wanna come back. So a few days later I came back to get an avocado burger, and then I had a burrito the day after that. Everything I had was tasty and reasonably priced. Oh yeah. I mooched off of my friend's fried zucchini and it was pretty awesome, too. The only reason I knocked off a star is because this place can get crowded due to inadequate seating, but that just means the food is great. Probably makes a good high school hangout

I haven't really tried their hamburger menu, but their fried zucchini and fried mushrooms are soooooo delicious!! Crunchy on the outside and so soft in the inside. Ranch dressing that comes with it matches very well. YUM!
3.5 stars. Pretty good burger place. I got the Patty Melt, and the Rye bread was very...Rye. The next time I'm down here I will make sure to try their breakfast as we just missed it last time. It's a mixture of American and Mexican food classics. Burgers and tacos all living harmoniously under one roof.

My go-to item at Paul's Place has always been the Double Cheeseburger. There's nothing fancy about. It's just big, hot, fresh, and juicy. For a change of pace, I'll go with the Chili-Cheese Dog. Beyond that, I'm afraid all I can say is that I've never had anything at Paul's that was anything less than excellent. Unfortunately, because I don't get to go there that often these days, living out of the area as i do, and because the Double Cheeseburgers and Chili-Cheese dogs are so good, I'm usually reluctant to experiment and order anything else!
This is a pretty good to-go place. I usually grab their breakfast burrito and hash browns in the early hours. For lunch or an early dinner--- I go with the taco salad.
On weekend mornings and afternoons, it's usually pretty wide open inside. Not too crowded. Its a favorite among the city employees of Anaheim, school district maintenance workers and even the police and firefighters.
Now on weekends--- the place is real crowded in the mornings, but service is still pretty fast.
Paul's Place is your basic hamburger/taco/salad/sandwich/milkshake joint. They have a HUGE menu. But my eye only sees one thing there...the gyro sandwich. It is possibly the best gyro sandwich in so.cal. You have a choice of chicken or the traditional lamb. Either one is delicious, but if you want to be authentic-lamb is the way to go. The gyro is a pita bread sandwich filled with red onions, meat, and a tangy tzaziki sauce (made of cucumbers). Try one out, you can thank me later.
Three Words:
Bacon Breakfast Taco.
My sister absolutely loves this place. I just think it's supercute to have a nice breakfast nook like Paul's Place nearby, so I give it four stars for its relative uniqueness.
You can usually tell if a restaurant's any good judging by its lunch rush. After working down the street from this particular Paul's Place for two years, I know the food's good.
First of all, the fried zucchini at Paul's Place is great. Of all the fried veggies around, that of the zucchini variety is at the top of my list. It's such an underrated vegetable, isn't it? Leave it to the fry cook whizzes at Paul's Place to take it to another level. I would honestly have to say it's almost as good as the fried zucchini at Claimjumper (which, if you didn't already know, rocks). Most burger joints (excluding Carl's Jr.) ruin this perfectly good side dish by not preparing it correctly. Okay, how many of you have had this happen to you? You're sitting there, eating a piece of fried zucchini when, all of a sudden, the fried, crispy, golden brown, battered shell slides right off the piece still attached to your mouth, causing that remaining scorching, soggy zucchini piece to flop down on your lower lip or chin, thus causing you third degree burns?!?! Please don't say it's just me! I've seen it happen to many innocent people!! Anyway, as I was saying, Paul's Place somehow manages to get their batter to stick and I haven't been burned since...except when I get overzealous and stupidly shove a fresh-from-the-fryer piece into my mouth without cooling it off.
Second, Paul's has very accomodating hours. I used to have to be at work by 7:15 am and, guess what? Paul's opens at 6 am! It's totally convenient for blue and white collar workers alike!
Also, the prices aren't frighteningly high like other burger joints. Paul's advertises itself as 'gourmet' fast food...which I'd actually agree with. Although this place offers up fresh food with quality ingredients, their prices manage to stay very reasonable.
Finally, the selection at Paul's is pretty darned good. You have your burger joint basics: burgers, sandwiches, melts. But, you also have a few other 'international' dishes thrown in to tempt your tastebuds: a variety of Mexican dishes plus gyros (beef or chicken). If you can manage to stop by for breakfast, forget about it! What do you want? Bacon, eggs, and pancakes? Check! Machaca burrito? Check! How about a breakfast taco/burrito? Check! Paul's even offers good sized salads and a great chicken sandwich for those watching their 'girlish figures.'
There are a few locations around. I know of one in Los Alamitos and another one down the street in Buena Park. They're pretty consistent with their menus and quality.
The point is, Paul's Place is good. It may not 'wow' you with avante garde decor or contempory southwestern styling, but who needs that stuff in a burger joint anyway?! Go for the food and let me know what you think. See you there!
