Fantastic!

I'm a medical student and was in the market for those clogs that enable one to stand on the hospital wards for long hours.

They have a great selection!  Every color and size and style of clog you can imagine.  They even gave us a 15% discount because we were students.

Also, free cleaning/polishings on all shoes you buy from them.

They are family owned for three generations -- I love it!

Cobbler, cobbler, mend my shoe,
Give it a stitch and that will do.
Here's a nail, and there's a prod,
And now my shoe is well shod. -- mother goose

Upon entering the shop, everything but shoe repair comes to mind. There is an assortment of crocks, boots, uggs, reef sandals and slippers, chunky wool socks and much more. One would think it a just a shop for shoes and like. But low and behold, in the back, there is a cobble shop complete with work bench/table cluttered with tools of the trade.

The bohemian shop keepers know their business and had made recommendations on the repairs for my heels and purses. Now, I have a large collection of shoes; In fact, I have a wall of shoes that I call my shoe shrine. So taking care of my shoes is a priority to me.

Anyhow, they were able to fix 2 leather bags one of which was a coach -- the straps broke cause I tend to put a lot of shit in my bags. In addition, they buffed, fixed the leather and added a metal toe tap to my Charles David pumps (which I wear at least a couple of times a week). All this for a fraction of what I would pay for a new pair of shoes or purse! Nice!

To find such a gem means more to me than chocolate. And that's saying a lot!!!

Great repairs. Kind people. An asset to the neighborhood. Wish they did tailoring...sigh.

Cutest shoes ever, and a huge-ass seletion of flip-flops, which, thanks to Paul's Cobblery, I now own more than I can wear.

I love this place.  It's a cute little shop with a totally fantastic selection.  I love that they carry rainbows, which are my personal favorite.  They are really knowledgable about the brands they carry, and were very helpful in my sandal selection.  I got a freakin' awesome pair of keen sandals, a little on the pricey side, but probably one of the best buys i've made.

This store dished out problem after problem. My shoes weren't ready when they said they would be, I felt that my boots looked worse when I picked them up then when I dropped them off (light colored boots left for polish and shine, had dark polish splotches all over them when they were finished), and the young woman behind the counter was extremely, extremely unpleasant. I don't trust them and wouldn't bring my shoes there even if I did because they are not nice people (at least some of the folks there--it is a family business).

Never had shoes repaired here, but I bought some Danskos here. About a week after I bought them, the thread on the leather started becoming unraveled and the seam opened up. I took them back, and the woman working there just gave me a brand new pair, no hassle. Very good customer service.

wow!  Great customer service, great business model.  Imagine an entire store based on the concept that fashion should not render crippled women.  Today I bought a $72 pair of discontinued black Dansko clogs, which is the lowest price that I have seen online and in stores around the Bay Area.  The place stocks a nice selection of mostly women's shoes (Men's UGGs are on sale as of 4/23) and an extensive children's section as well.  Cute smartwool socks cover the wall on the left.  Everything that you would expect from a small family-owned business in northern California and more.

While eating at The Counter (see my review), I noticed this quaint place across the street.  After procrastinating long enough, I brought two pairs of leather pumps in dire need of new heels and toe reinforcements to this place.

The drop off:
I walked up to the counter and the woman was a bit cold.  The whole time she was serving me, she continued to have a conversation with a friend of hers who came in moments after I was being "helped".  It was totally rude! To top it off, she flipped me attitude when I simply asked when it would be ready...as IF I would KNOW when it would be ready!  That is why I am asking! sheesh!  Luckily I liked the answer (next day, afternoon - quick!).  The bill came to $76, which is supposed to be a pretty good deal ($20 for heels, $18 for toes, times 2 pairs).

The pick up:
I was dreading that it would be the same woman, but phew(!) I was helped by a very nice guy.  The customer in front of me was pretty ticked off about the fact that "some lady who worked there" (wonder who she was talking about?) screwed up twice on getting a shoe order into the store for pick up.  Apparently this customer ordered some shoes for a family member she was visiting via airplane that same night, and the order didn't arrive to the store in time for her to take them with her.  And this had happened to her before!  The guy behind the counter was very apologetic and arranged to have it shipped free to the relative.  Nice recovery!
Shortly thereafter, I picked up my shoes without a hitch.

Moral of the story:  Good value, spotty service.

I took my leather bag for cleaning and to have a small tear repaired. After paying $80 up front ($$$!), they said it would be ready by next Saturday.

So, the next Saturday, I go all the way there to pick up my bag only to hear the lady at the counter say with dwindling confidence,  "oh - the woman who was supposed to repair it never got to it. I can do it....come back tomorrow?" I was annoyed as no one had called to warn me of the delay, but hopeful that my bag would at least turn out looking better than before.

Wrong. When I finally go to pick up my bag, it's a mess: the interior lining has TWO HUGE HOLES (where there were none before) which were very sloppily sewn together; the tear that was to be repaired still has a pinhole remaining and is VERY visible; and the color used to touch up after cleaning does not match.

Lesson learned.  Although they do have a large selection of comfort shoes and a wall of socks, I wouldn't take anything here for repair again.

"This place is run my a couple who has the most adorable kid. Their shoe repair is great (only $20 to get the heels on my F-ME boots fixed) and the selection of fun kicks is stellar. They have most colors of Reef sandals under the sun which is great for Cali weather and a brokeass Reef fanatic like myself."

I love this place. Their shoes are really stylish and cute. I had a hard time to find a pair of comfortable low heel shoes before. I am glad to find this place. It is really worth the money. They had huge selections on socks and crocs. Their socks are really soft, some of them made of cashmere. They also have some cute bags and umbrella. The store is worth for a visit.

good job, good price and nice people.

this place is a very cute place, the kind of place we want to have around: artisanale, authentic, independent, personal...

For 12 bucks they fixed the heel of my fiance's shoes.

Cheaper than buying new one and I would hate to have to throw away shoes just like that!
