Paty's is a fun place to go for a quick bite.  My girlfriend and I got burgers for lunch and there was nothing spectacular about them.  The people there are really friendly and attentive. I like how the menu isn't packed with greasy foods so there are lighter options for people who don't feel like eating the traditional burger and fries.

I've only been there once and I can't say the food was delicious but I would go back and order something else. Basically, Paty's is a fun local hang out in Toluca Lake. You might even see a Disney Channel star!

Went here on a local's recommendation solely based on their multi-grain pancakes.  I love pancakes so we made the drive from Highland Park to Toluca Lake for some pancakes.  Being that it was Sunday during brunch time, I expected a mass of people and a wait, but it wasn't bad at all.

Though their dedicated parking lot was full with cruisers hoping to snatch up a spot, the adjacent  streets were empty.  Our walk to the front door was less than a block and we were immediately seated on the patio.  Even though the surrounding area is pretty boring to look at, the patio was nicely shaded and comfortable.

I got a classic bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes with some coffee and their multi-grain pancakes.  The pancakes lived up to my friend's hype but everything else was meh to okay.  I like my potatoes O'brien style and/or seasoned, but Paty's is just huge plain chunks of flat-top fried starch.  Other than that, the bacon and eggs were alright.

Because their menu looked interesting, extensive and their patio was cool, I'd give Paty's another visit in the future to try more of their offerings.

Situated right around the corner from my hotel, I ate at Patty's a few times during my last trip to LA, and the food and service was spot-on every time.

Patty's is the kind of breakfast restaurant everyone needs in their repertoire - it's a no-frills, moderately priced breakfast/lunch joint with plenty of seating (indoors and out) and a HUGE menu.  There's something for everybody and every mood.

Looking for a classic breakfast?  Eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, hash browns, etc, etc, etc.  It's all there, and it's all delish.

Training for that upcoming marathon, or looking to drop a few pounds, or just need to make up after last night's booze-and-grease-fest?  The fitness menu offers an entire page of healthy alternatives.

Body clock say it's time for lunch?  No problem, there's plenty of lunch food to choose from.  The California chicken sandwich is particularly good.

But no matter what you get, top it off with some fresh squeeze orange juice - it's wicked good!

I went back to Paty's on 9/22/09 for another turkey dinner and it was great.  It was better than when grandma made it for Thanksgiving...even when she was sober.

What can I say? I'm new to CA and love this place! It reminds me of diners back home. The service we've had the 7 times we've been here has always been exceptional. We have never had to wait for drinks to be refilled or anything. They really seem on top of making sure your coffee, soda or whatnot is refilled. We tried the BLT's which were very good, the California Omelet is my favorite and my BF loves the multi-grain pancakes. I tried the sausage sandwich with cheese and meat sauce, that was very good too. It came with spaghetti. All in all I guess I don't have anything negative to say about this place, I love it and will continue to go there and try new dishes.

Years ago, I used to avoid this place after some rather unpleasant meals, but it changed management some years back and is now one of the best coffee shops (diners to you east coast folks) in the Burbank/North Hollywood region. The prices are a wee bit higher than the cheapest, but the food is fresh, a little bit healthier than average, and good. The specials are often worth it.

The staff is very friendly and funny, and they remember what you like, which is rare these days. The architecture and decor is definitely vintage googie, which is always a bit of a kick.

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago, it's a homestyle diner in Toluca Lake. The older waitress was attentive, if a bit in a rush to have us order (interrupted us while we were looking over the menu to ask if we were ready...no) and it was a bit odd the that the omelette I ordered was basically a cheese omelette with mushrooms tossed on the top of it. Usually they put it inside...We went in the late morning, maybe it is more happening later on, but it was pretty much a locals crowd. I did notice they had a large selection of "healthy" menu options.

Eaten here over a period of years as couple BF's loved the place, and it was also in walking distance for a period of time....

Honestly - haven't been super impressed.... but its not bad - just kinda there ya know? (OK, maybe "mellow" is a better word to use) .. we always sit on the patio on a weekend, go for breakfast/lunch - its usually pretty crowded so sometimes a wait for a table out there. Once seated the atmosphere is casual and they don't seem to mind if you meander and read the paper, etc.... the crowd is usually friendly, as are the servers.

As for the food - its decent - does have a huge menu so at least you have lots to choose from... The scrabble-(eggs) - (Paty's Original and "create your own") aren't bad - veggies usually taste fresh, and I like the choices of types of proteins and cheeses. They have a decent choice of omelette's too - the California with avocado, bacon, tomato, and Swiss is pretty good.

If your not super hungry - just have a few breakfast "sides" but don't forget the "homemade" cinnamon roll - yum.

To their credit - they do try to offer "healthy" alternatives too - using no trans fat oil, offering a "fitness menu" for those looking for low cholesterol, vegetarian options, etc...

They do have lots of other items, pancakes, etc. for breakfast, and your typical sandwiches, burgers, salads, Italian, etc for lunch/dinner... but I'm usually there in the am so can't comment on them..... they also have an inexpensive kids menu so good place to bring the fam....

The prices for the whole menu seem to be in the same range - averaging about 8 to 12 bucks plus drink... not bad...

Overall, an ok place to "hang" and start the day - something to eat for all - and the area is nice and quiet too, and street parking usually easy to find.

Paty's is my primary breakfast place..........it's on the border of Toluca Lake & Burbank. There are couple other places I go to but I pretty much seem to go to Paty's the most.

They serve good breakfast. I particularly like the omelets. Most egg dishes come with hash browns or home fries and they're both pretty good. It's pretty generic stuff. But it isn't bad at all. Good sized portions too. They have a pretty killer breakfast burrito. Too bad the Salsa is Pace! BLAGGGH! But the Burrito is good. I'm a big Eggs Benedict fan and they do it very nice.

Good service....people hustle and serve as best they can when it's busy. I like the counter........plenty of inside seating and a lot of people sit outside too. Great for people watching.....you see an occasional celebrity having breakfast incognito. Plenty of parking, good service and reasonable prices................

Paty's never lets me down.

Paty's has been in business since 1960 and after an amazing breakfast, it's easy to say why. (An old school Marie Calendar's across the street  was virtually empty.) When you walk into Paty's you are greeted by the manager who is really on top of his game - seating customers, serving coffee, ringing the register -- this guy is on it. The breakfast menu is top notch from the usual bacon, eggs and pancakes to chorizo, pork chops and egg benedict. I lived in Burbank for a number of years and never been to Paty's - I'll be sure to visit Paty's next time I am in So Cal.

The sign said 'No-trans-fat'
I went 'Hmm, what about that'
Still the fries were good
Just a tad greasy like they should
Be it ever so humble
The Burger Club Sandwich--it made a rumble
That my belly liked a lot
They relly got it Medium Rare; pink hot

Glad I foresook the Mayo
Don't need that every day-o
The fountain drink they kept refillin'
A nice place for some old friend chillin'
I could imagine comin back with the fam'bly
Better stop now before I get too rambly.

Late breakfast everyday, and very reasonable prices..
Great service, great way to start your day.

I've been here twice and both times I ordered breakfast (sausage, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns). I enjoy the outdoor seating. The only complaint I have is that whenever we asked for Ketchup or sugar, the waitress would ask the table next to ours if they're done with theirs. Luckily they didn't mind.

This place is definitely better than Denny's!

I went to Paty's on a whim.

The boy just got me an early Christmas gift, a GPS thingamabob, so we decided to go for a test run.  I was in the mood for some burgers, so we told the GPS to look up "American Food" in the area and Paty's came up.  We tested the bluetooth on the GPS and called up Paty's to make sure they were open.

"Hi, what time do you close?  And do you have burgers?"

"10pm, and you bet-- we have the best burgers you've ever tasted!"

How can you not love that response?  Armed with GPS, we ventured over to the promised burgers.  Not bad!  I had the Grilled Mushroom burger with the steak cut fries.  Pretty good, GPS.  You've earned my trust.  As have you, Paty's.

It's a cute place and the folks who work there were super nice to everyone, even choppin' it up with the table across the way.  I'll have to come back and check out the brunch that everyone else is talking about.

One early morning, I was walking through a forest of palm trees, when a chipper chipmunk approached me. "Top to the morn to the most beautiful girl in the world. Want to titillate your tastebuds? Follow me." Never the one to turn down some titillation or gratuitous compliment, I followed the chipmunk to the Palatable Palace of Paty's.

When I arrived in the Enchanted Honda, it was as if Paty was already expecting me. Despite the bustling crowd, I was quickly seated in the outdoor patio. Although, the coffee didn't necessarily electrify my nerves, it didn't taste like your usual coffeeshop dirt either. The fresh OJ, however, must have been squeezed by the most nectarous fairies because I could not stop kicking nearby Leprechauns in delight.

The chipmunk turned out to be charming company, as he gnawed away at his honey-cinnamon french toast and poached eggs. One tasty bite and I was conspiring to shotgun his tail so I could finish his plate. But luckily, my scrabble of eggs, spinach, shrooms, turkey sausage, and jack cheese had arrived with a lovely side of pancakes and hash...browns. A forkful later, I had displaced all malicious intent and wanted to make a greener world. It was pretty effing amazing.

So if you're ever walking through a palm tree forest and catch sight of a chipmunk, ask him if he can take you to Paty's. If he refuses or pretends not to understand, enjoy a pot of squirrely stew.

Paty's is great.  Service is good, menu is GARGANTUAN, bloody marys are nice (even though I don't like bloody marys), the hash browns, after adding salt, are lovely, the eggs come as ordered, and the bacon is perfectly done.  Diner prices don't make it the easiest brunch on the wallet, but certainly a nice Sunday afternoon spot.

I've been to Paty's a few times now.  It's a great staple close by.  Plenty of parking and consistently decent home cooked meals.

Kudo's to the vegetarian options (soy patties, etc).

Prices seem about average for non chain diner.

I've never had a problem with service.

Love the outdoor seating.

Paty's is your not so typical diner. The staff is very friendly and is also personable. My girls and I frequent Paty's for breakfast and lunch, and have always been happy with the food and the service.

I usually have the veggie pattie, (lo cal platter) and as far as veggie burgers go, theirs is really good. They serve cottage cheese, fresh fruit and a hard boiled egg with this, and how can you go wrong?

My girls absolute rave about their cheese burgers and onion rings, and say they are one of the best they have ever eaten.

When you are in Toluca Lake, you have to try Paty's!

This is not a vegan friendly restaurant.  With that said, there are vegetarian options like pancakes, omelets, and a few sandwich and salad options.  I give them points for having soy patties and faux-chicken patties.  However in order to get a vegan meal, you'll have to do some substitutions and eliminations.

The food was ok-- I had the Southwest Chicken Salad (without chicken, sub with soy patty) that was very large.  It was $10.99, so I hoped that it would be a good sized portion.  The salad included romaine lettuce, avocados, tomatoes, and red onions.  Now, it doesn't take a lot of culinary expertise to make a salad, so to say a 4 ingredient (5 with the veg patty) salad is good, doesn't mean that much.  However, my friends didn't complain about their non-vegan food, so it must have been ok.

Pros:  Lots of parking in lot behind restaurant.  Fast service.  Lots of outdoor seating.

Cons:  Grouchy waitress who doesn't know the menu very well.  Limited vegan options (granted, this is not a vegan restaurant, but most restaurants have a lot of options if you just substitute/omit an ingredient or two).  Expensive for being a diner-type restaurant.

**BREAKFAST REVIEW ONLY**

Our breakfast was just okay.
There is nothing to write home about here for us. It's possible that there are specialties people rave about that would elevate the review. But I just had scrambled eggs, turkey patty and hashbrowns.  The turkey burger patty is EXTRA lean, so expect it to taste like flavored RUBBER (they really shouldn't use extra lean turkey for patties).  I'm not exaggerating... chewy, chewy, chewy.  A turkey patty does NOT have to taste like that.  Try HILL STREET CAFE for exceptional breakfasts.  Shaker's does a better breakfast too.

This place is nice enough for a quick no-frills breakfast.  Clean, efficient, staff isn't particularly out-going, but service was good.

Haven't tried them for dinner. Their chocolate cake looked delicious (tho it was breakfast, so I didn't try it).

Alright, my girlfriend and I hit up this "hot" spot last saturday night.  It was a little quiet for my taste, but we wanted to be served fast so we opted for this over Bob's down the street.

The people were nice, service was fine, a little slow but not horrible.  I had the country fried steak which was not all that great and my girlfriend had a hamburger which she thought was decent.  Since it was evening, i'll give them a pass on the lackluster breakfast.

We did have dessert and I have to say it was the highlight of my meal.  If you get dessert, make sure you get a piece of one of the cakes on top of the pastry case.  All the other desserts are bought, but the cakes are made in house.

Overall I gave this 3 stars because the people were nice and the dessert was good.  I think i'd go back for coffee and dessert, but pick someplace else for a meal.

I went for breakfast and was not that impressed.  I ordered chocalate chip waffles with eggs, sausage and some OJ.   All this was $15, not including tip and was not really worth it.  On top of that, I had a rather elderly lady serve me so I felt inclined to leave a bigger tip beause I felt bad having her wait on me.
This is an old school diner with lots of history but the food is not that great!

The non-greasy, greasy spoon.
Food is consistently decent (and sometimes quite good)
Service is consistently bland (with one exception see below)
Manager with the longish hair is consistently rude: correction, "dry"

Food: Try the spinach, California Benedict, egg salad.  Nothing is greasy and everything seems really fresh.
Service: Don't have any expectations of greatness...the only one whose service was excellent was a guy who was not a waiter.  He had great hair, great smile, and a bowling shirt (or something laid back and hip)

I can't believe I've lived in Burbank for 5 years and have never gone here. I tried it out for the first time on Sunday and had a very good experience.

The wait looked really long, but within 10 minutes we were seated. Unfortunately we asked for first available and got seated outside. Normally this would be nice, but I swear it was like 100 degrees by 11am. Not going to do that again.

My breakfast was just right. Not too greasy and overall very good. The husband liked his too.

The only thing that ruined it for me was sitting outside. Will try this place for dinner or lunch sometime and report back.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this restaurant!  Especially for Sunday Brunches.

We originally decided to check it out because we heard that Zac Efron and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens frequently go there - haha.

It has a very friendly environment, decently priced, and GREAT breakfast food.

My only two gripes would be that it is always very crowded (because everyone knows its good) and they have a back room that is very stuffy.

As always, amusing to read these reviews, and not always GOOD amusing.  I will now tell you the way it is, baby, because we know from diner food and we know from the way it is.  I don't go to restaurants to feed a hangover or recover from drugs.  I go to EAT.  There, I said it and I'm glad.

I don't know why it's taken me this long to try Paty's, but it has.  So, I had a little business meeting with a friend and this was the choice.  It was just after noon and all the booths were taken, which irks me no end.  For example, it irked me no end.  But, thankfully, a couple vacated and I got the booth.  I decided to have breakfast and I had the eggs benedict.  I must say they were excellent - eggs perfectly done, decent hollandaise, and great home fries.  Note to person complaining about runny eggs - if you ordered them over easy, that's what you get.  If you ordered them over medium, send 'em back.  It's that simple.

My friend and I split some cherry pie - it, too, was very fresh and very good.  I'll go back and try some lunch or dinner food, but for the eggs benedict alone I'd recommend it.

We ate breakfast here this morning. It was our first time, we'd tried to last Saturday, but were lazy asses and didn't get out of the house until noon-ish.  By then it was packed so we went to the old-school Bob's Big Boy down the street.

This place was DE-LISH.

I had the french toast combo and the little lady had the whole-grain pancakes. The combo's eggs(scrambled) were perfect. I asked for strawberries with the french toast. They were frozen, but tasted fine.  The pancakes were hearty/tasty harks the beauty next to me on the couch.

We'll be back.

Just get there early enough on a weekend.

Went here for brunch last sunday to try somehting new. The place was packed. The sweets looked very tempting. I love that the cakes were in those clear cake stands like an old skool diner should. This place is very retro and can get pretty cramped. My leg was burning from the sun that day due to the lack of shade on the patio. I was more thirsty than hungry and the waitress forgot our drinks. Service was blah. I think they couldn't handle the crowd that day. I had the greek omelet (egg whites of course) . I love greek food so i thought i would love this. It was nothing special. I wanted to go back in the kitchen and tell them how they could've jazzed it up a little.

My friends say they like to go here late at night. I would only go back if I lost a vote w/ friends and was too lazy to go back over the hill to bossa nova.

Paty's is a little "family" restaurant, where, that's right folks, you can take your KIDS here. The food was nothing to write home about but the atmosphere was nice and homey. The waitress was nice and the prices were extremely reasonable.

Side note:
To the bitter old bitch sitting at the table next to us: when you state loudly that you wish people would get babysitters for their kids, here is my recommendation to you: DON"T EAT AT A FAMILY RESTAURANT!!

If kids bother you that much, order in or at the very least, date someone that will spring for a real date at an "adult" restaurant where your complaints might somewhat be merited, however, I bet you are the same fucking lady that drives slow in the left lane, and also the lady that has 16 items in the 15 items or less line at the grocery store. You are always the biatch that complains about everything. Fuck you lady, take your entitled withered ass to a bar, where again, no kids, and tie one on. Loosen the fuck up.

This place is so overrated!! It's pretty overpriced, the portions are of a 5 year old. The only thing they have going for itself is the orange juice. The two times I went, my fries were always cold. The burgers just have the patty with lettuce and tomato. No mayo or nothing. The breakfast is nothing special. I think Denny's for sure have better breakfast, and better portions. Not worth coming here again!!

Fantastic Paty's!!  I came here on a perfect sunny afternoon with my favorite people.  My lovely client and my buddy Kevin...aka co-worker.

I love this little place with a great patio of the street views.  The service is very diner and the servers relaxed.  I got the fried shrimp plate...don't do it.  Not worth the price.  But I did get to experience the tuna sandwich which resembled awesome!

I like diners.

I like small diners.

I like comfy diners.

I like diners where it seems the owner knows everyone.

Where they serve great breakfast all day.

Where they remember you every time you visit.

I like sitting on the patio and starting my day with a nice cup of coffee, while in a nice area, and eating a basic breakfast meal.

I'm not saying the food is outstanding.  But that's not why I go here.  If I wanted outstanding food, I'd stay home and cook it myself.

Yeah, I just blew my own horn.  What now?  WHAT!? :P
