Not much to look at from the outside...

Not much to look at on the inside, either...

I told the lady that I wanted the food "Thai people spicy," and not "white people spicy." She did not disappoint...

Ambience can sometimes be overrated.  It's all about the food...

Must agree with the previous yelper, not much to look at from both inside and outside. It's hard to find a parking because the have about 3-4 space for their restaurant and it some what hard to turn in their location too. As far as the food goes, it was good but the portions were a bit small like their restaurant. overall, it was just OK for me. AP

While I love midtown and it would be great to be able to bike or walk to work, one of the great benefits of working in the 'burbs is that I come face to face with the amazing diversity Sacramento county holds.  And I have to admit that one of the primary ways this manifests for me is consuming a large amount of ethnic food.

Today I stopped in at Pattaya with a coworker.  I would never have noticed its existence if she hadn't pointed it out.  The location, in a tiny, dirty strip mall on Watt Avenue, is nothing to write home about.  The interior was small and simple, but clean.

The woman working the front was pleasant and seated us very promptly.  We both decided on lunch specials.  I had the red curry and she went with pad thai and roast chicken.  Both were reasonably priced (around $7).  The portions were large and both dishes were spicy, well-prepared, and mine included lots of vegetables along with the chicken in the curry.

Since moving to Sacramento I've felt like all the thai food I've had has lacked something for the price.  I didn't feel that way about Pattaya and I expect I'll be back.

Good for Lunch. I had the Lunch special bbq chicken and pad thai. The pad thai was very simple, no meat at all, no egg, no tofu. It was not that good. The bbq chicken was good.  It was decent for price and location. Oh there's not that much parking space in the area.

My parents have been taking me here since I was a kid&I love pretty much everything they have on the menu.  They're located near Watt Ave&A Street.  Very hard to miss, right next to an Asian market.  If you do decide to dine here, park in the Cost-U-Less parking lot because Pattaya's parking lot is terrible!  For people who are weary about eating Thai food, I suggest you get the combination fried rice (you'll never want to eat regular fried rice ever again)&pad thai.  Their Thai tea is also great.  Small place, family-owned&run but great food with LOTS of flavor.  Definitely will not disappoint.

I go to a lot of thai restuarants and this one is definitly a fave of mine. Its easy to miss when driving by, they're located off of watt ave near albertos mexican restaurant. There isn't much parking just a few spaces in front of their business but its worth it to try. I usually order the coconut milk chicken/mushroom soup to go, its Really Good* Only bad thing is when they package it to go they never give your money's worth, it can be frustrating. Other than that I highly recommend it to anyone to try.

Great Thai food! The restaurant is in a strip mall across from McClellan Field, but don't let that stop you!  The menu is extensive and everything we've ordered (and we've been here several times) is delicious. We usually order takeaway and it has always been well packed and our order correct.

Highly recommended!

And if Pattaya's tiny dining room is filled up, go across the street and down a block to Stolichniy for fabulous Russian food.

So, my woman eats here all the time as its almost closer to her work than the parking lot. It's very tiny, and easily missed, but its right across from The McClellan AFB. Anyhow, My woman says its great and finally gets me to go... She enjoys the Papaya salad, often reffert to by her as Dom Sum (spelling). She says its the best in town. I dont eat the stuff, as it contains the very aromatic fish sauce. Anyhow I have no idea what im ordering, but the number 74 (pad see eew?) was quite delicious . Long flat noodle, pork, and some other Thai flavorings. Her sister got some sort of chicken with mint leaves (larb )which I will refer to as Mojito chicken (different but quite good). The Pad Thai was also quite tasty. In 1998 They were awareded "The best Resteraunt in a strip mall across from an all but abandoned air force base" by Sacramneto Magazine.  Great food and cheap prices, Seems to be family run.
