When I first came here a year ago, I had my reservations about how good this place was.  But after eating there a few times, I've come to learn this place has great food.  Granted the ambience isn't great, this restaurant is all about food and catering to a huge group of friends or family.

Their rigatoni bolognese was and is always awesome.  I always order a family size of it and people love it.  Also, I had their arugula salad which was pretty good as well.  We ordered a bunch of drinks, a family size pasta,  family size salad, and a regular pie.  We were stuffed yet only paid $16 each.  Now that's a steal, especially in New York City.

In an argument of "best thin crust NY Pizza" you will get 50 different answers from 100 different people.  Many of those people say Patsy's and as such I decided to give it a try during my visit in New York.  While the pizza was okay, the experience was sub-par compared to the myriad of other memorable meals I had while visiting Manhattan.

Seating was rapid and no reservations were required.  Plus.  Dress was casual and laid back.  Plus.  Water was filled quickly and orders taken after allowing time to browse the menu.  Plus.

We had to ask for table bread.  Minus.  The water was warm and without ice.  Minus.  The radio was playing Britney Spears, Ryan Adams, and Maroon 5.  Huge Minus.  Our server was (I'm guessing) Russian and A) didn't speak the language well, B) didn't seem to care about our table as there was a larger group ordering more than us at the table behind us, and C) seemed to feel that one visit for water, one to deliver pizza, and one to clear dishes and leave a check was enough.

The bread was a hearty and crusty italian and the table was supplied with a mild EVOO.  It wasn't anything stellar, but it was free......even if we did only get 2 pieces and refills were not offered.....and we had to ask for it in the first place when others were brought bread on arrival.  For pizza we ordered a single small with mushrooms and while the toppings were fresh, for $2.50 a topping on a $15 cracker-crust pizza I expect more than a couple thin-cut baby bellas.  Flavor was decent but certainly not on par with Otto the night before or many options back home in Ohio.

For dessert, the tiramisu was a must.  While decent, the size was small for $8 (again, Otto was better and cheaper) and the quality was similar to a store bought pre-made dessert.  Not too 'rummy' but also nothing to write home about.

Poor service, okay pizza, subpar Tiramisu......if this truly is one of the 'better' NY Pizzas I do believe I'll stick with Cali and Chicago-style.

Only been there for the pizza.  It's the thin crust, tiny slice variety, and at $1.75 a slice, not too much of a bargain.  But boy are they tasty.  I could eat a pie of this deliciousness by myself!

i woke up today utterly repulsed by the oppressive heat & humidity. i immediately called in to work *cough cough* sick. i decided to watch the netflix's i've been neglecting, officially unpack my summer clothes, and order a big fat calzone for lunch from Patsy's. they deliver to my front door.

i am a food dip-aholic dipping food into sauce is my reason ot be.  the sauce you dipped the calzone in here is the JAM. it's perfection marinara. the right amount of toamtoey acidity goodness. plus they provide a healthy portion, not some wangsta cup of nadaville.

the stuffing options for the guts of the calzone range from the obvious to the exotic. i'm a gnarly meat hound so i get salami and pepperoni. it makes the calzone hella greasy but who cares, i expect it with greasy meat guts. it's sooooo fecking good.

this tube of stuffed meat bread is huge. it's always cooked well done and fresh and it's majorly filled and cheesy. it's so so so yummy. it's impossible to eat the entire thing in one sitting. so you basically get lunch+dinner for $12.95 plus tip to your door. who the hell wouldn't want that.

they have hawaiian pizza too. hells yeah.

I gave the one downtown a below par review because the pizza was sogggggy... but I have gone to this location twice now and have been pleasantly surprised with good pizza in my belly both times.  I have  since learned that I think that what my friends ordered on the pizza may have had something to do with it being soggy.  Topping I got were: sundried tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms and loved every bite.  Also the insalata misa is really good and if you get the family size definitely enough for a group of 4 to share.

Service is fine... pizza's came quick... drinks were flowing ... everyone was happy!

Why did I order garlic on my pizza?  Was that just idiocy?  Is idiocy a word?  It is.  I just checked.  Garlic and pepperoni -- a bit weird.  I like garlic.  I like pepperoni.  I don't know what happened.

But it's still Patsy's.  And Patsy's is good.

Had to do it...had to eat pizza in New York.

Ordered pizza - one pepperoni and one sausage.  Thin crust, not burnt, tasty toppings.  The pepperoni were thicker cut than your usual, sit at home delivery, and tasty.  The crumbled sausage wasn't overly oily or salty.  Both were yummy.  We also ordered the family size arugula salad which was fresh, light, and slightly sweet.  The sweetness of the dressing with the arugula and cheese was a perfect match.

4 people, more than enough food.

Fried Calimari.  Great.  Salad.  Great.  New York Style Pizza.  Awesome!  I love the thing crusted pizza here.  I've had NY style pizza back in Vegas, but there really is a bit of a difference.  It's a bit soggy in Vegas, but the pizza here is just cooked wonderfully.  The decor isn't that great, but who cares when you have great food.  I know people have had different experiences with their pizzas, but I was fortunate enough to have food cooked well and with good service.  All on a Saturday night too.

One of the best joints the city has to offer. I have had lots of pizza and the hype does live up to the standards.  The pizza is perfect. Very delicious and very tasty with thin crust pizza that New York is known for.  My favorite combo? Sausages and Mushrooms. Yum.  Patsy's also adds some fresh basil on top to keep it real.  For a party of 4, its perfect to order a large pizza, a large salad and a large pasta. You will have enough for everyone and even some leftovers.

Family portions do run about 25-30 per bowl but it's cool with me. The upper east side location is much more low key than the one in midtown... you might just luck out. mmMMm pizza.

It doesn't get better than stumbling distance. And in nice weather, the outdoor dining is a joy. But I still rarely go to Patsy's because I feel like my wallet is being abused every time. Yes, I do have my favorite orders: the insalata caprese and my own pizza invention of calamata olives, prosciutto, and ricotta. But $25 for a pizza? Doesn't that seem just a little extreme? It makes me downright mad.

I am rarely this negative, but this place is soooo bad, I have been too angry since Sunday to even find the words to describe how bad.

The service was terrible, and the food was horrible.

Since I was there with a young lady and her five year old daughter, I couldn't take the time to speak to the manager.

We were ignored the whole time.  Our waiter just disappeared into thin air.  It look the little girl 20 minutes to just get a tiny piece of bread.  It was downhill from there.

The pizza is all I wanted to eat, but after my two guests got their dishes, (a yucky pasta carbonara, and a tasteless eggplant parm, with sauce that was worse than the worst sauce out of a jar, overcooked, tasteless...almost disgusting) I had only a few bites left.  They wound up eating my small pizza, as it was the only edible thing on the table.

And the prices, A RIP-OFF!  I am thinking of calling American Express to stop the charge.  I don't think I have had worse service or food in the whole world.  Strictly for tourists.

I almost felt like they were purposely torturing us, for some reason.

For the first time in my life, I did not leave a tip.  My friend left a tip for the bus boy, who seemed to be the only one around.

I would definitely like to see this place get some BAD publicity.
They do not deserve to be supported.

My local pizzerias are ten thousand times better - even the dive ones.

NEVER AGAIN!  And, Robin, you know who you are, next time I tell you a place is over rated, and I heard it on Yelp, don't ignore me.  We know what we are talking about!

I don't know how to post with 0 or minus stars, thats why you see a star.  It gave me stars in my head!

I was not feeling well when I ate there and got depressed when I saw how busy they were because I thought it was going to take forever to get served.  But the food came super fast and I was super happy. The pizza was good and they have a few extra toppings that you won't find at the John's on Bleeker, like fresh garlic and prosciutto.  The crust could have had a little bit more flavor, but the sauce was awesome and made up for it.

Patsy's is a real treat of a place to visit. Their pizza is worth the trip alone, which comes in many different varities and is fresh brick-oven made. They also have a wide selection of other Italian treats.

I don't eat pizza that mucho, but Patsy's was really good. The crust wasn't too thick, but not too thin, just right and every thing seemed really fresh. It's a good pizza parlor to head to.

I left Patsy's unsatisfied with the service and food. My friend raved about this place and convinced our group of six to eat there. We were all starving and ordered 2 large pizzas. The pizzas came slightly burned on the bottom (guess it's hard to get it exactly right when you're working with thin crust), but before that, after spotting it served to the table next to us, we asked the server for bread. She informed us that they have bread because they ordered salads. I informed her that you can charge $14 for a plate of dry, not homemade, pasta out of the box (the boxes were in plain sight stacked on the shelf in the kitchen, and it was some grocery store brand too), but you can't get us some bread? She got us bread after 1 person at our table ordered a salad. The rest of the night she took a while to get what we asked for, and then I had to leave my seat and approach her standing next to the bar to ask for our check and some change.

I see the potential of the pizza, so I recommend ordering it to-go.

This place changed the way I appreciate pizza.  I used to be all about Pizza Hut (Hawaiian!! mm mm mmmm) and other fast food-type pizzas.  Those pizzas are still great, but since having Patsy's I've come to appreciate the NY-style thin crust pizza so much more.

With a thin, crispy crust, just enough sauce, and very fresh mozzarella and basil, this pizza is always so light and tasty and I feel I can eat so much of it without feeling sick.  This is probably the first pizza I was able to enjoy just as pizza marguerita and not need a lot of extra toppings to make it great.  My brother didn't even want to try pizza when he came to visit me (he's lactose-intolerant), but when he had Patsy's, he didn't get sick at all and once we got back home he ate all the leftovers!! then he went back to LA raving about it!
