Laguna Niguel, CA
My friend and I have come here a handful of times since we live locally and the service is always great! The bartender (I don't know her name) is a sweetheart and is really on her game especially when it gets busy. The times we come there's always karaoke going on and it's a blast watching people and yes this is a GREAT people watching place, too :)
The atmosphere here is laid back and positive. I definitely want to come here sometime during the day soon and try their food! Great place :) -

Laguna Niguel, CA
This place is classic. Always a good time. Party with my highschool friends here on the (somewhat) regular.
It has been known to get a bit roudy- bar fights, cops, etc. Most of these fights happen outside when you enjoy a drunken cigarette and two douche bags get into a fight over who sat in who's spot (yeah- seriously). Nothing out of the ordinary for Patsy's. -
Review from Kristin B.

The bf and I just discovered this little hidden gem two weeks ago and we have already gone twice!
We had the same bartender both time (Krista) and she was great, she even remembered us the second time we came in. Definitely a sign of a good local bartender.
Our meal started off with a beer each. Nothing special about the beer options but they do have a decent selection of domestics (Coors Light, PBR, Samuel Adams, Shock Top, etc.).
The food there is absolutely amazing (for bar food). Lots of Irish themed dishes as well as seafood options. The bf went for his standard chicken fingers and fries (yes I know he eats like a five year old). He said the chicken was some of the best he has ever had. And the fries are really crunchy and well seasoned. He also got a side of the cheese sauce, basic nacho kind of stuff. I ordered the seafood stuffed potato. It is very heavy since it is covered in a creamy sauce but I was pleasantly surprised with the big chunks of seafood. I could actually identify the crab and the scallops (big plus).
We enjoyed waiting for our food because we got to play trivia that was on the tv. All you have to do is ask the bartender for a machine or download the "buzztime" app on a smart phone.
The only downfall to this place is the crowd. There are two sides to the place the seedy dive bar side and the restaurant side. The restaurant side is definitely less dive-barish and more time warp restaurantish.
Overall we will definitely be back. Hopefully next time I won't have a lewd man making pathetic remarks to our bartender. -

This place is pretty cool. Their corned beef tacos are great! They get a little packed and loud sometimes, but their worth it. Lots of other cool shops in the are too- Barber shop right next store (Golden Crown Barber Shop) and Mexican Restraurant (El Cortez) and some cool clothing stores ( Childrens Orchard and Collective Habit). Great place! Remember- Corned Beef Tacos!

Delicious Fresh one pound King crabs and sweet potato fries (not in the menu)! The bartender is the best!
The only thing is that is those kind of places for people in their 40's or 50's... Gets really crowded after 9 -

I was in Patsy's on a Monday night. The bar staff are total a-holes and the drinks are overpriced. I will not be going back.

I came here with a Groupon. I thought the food would be typical tasteless bar food but I love the corned beef tacos! The server was great (I didn't catch her name but she had an accent). She was great on suggesting a beer for me. I would love to come back again!!!
FYI- My GPS didn't recognize Patsy's being located in Laguna Niguel but in San Juan Capistrano. Don't know why. -

Great spot and has been for over 20 yrs. Family run now for all that time as Mary Ann has taken over for Mom & Dad ( Patsy & Don) Great ladies running the place, nice pint of Guinness as well. Sort of Irish, enough for the die hard and not too much for the average Joe. Karaoke always fun to watch. good sports place for Football as well.

Anaheim, CA
I would not have seen this place on the beaten path as it's in a strip mall, but so glad I live in the neighborhood and saw it as I was headed to 7-11. The place is so much bigger than it looks from the outside, and anything that says "Irish Pub" is worth exploring.
They have a huge bar seating that goes around into two rooms. One looks like it's better for the dinner crowd, and the other seems to be for those drinking. I didn't care about that and sat in the drinking side and had some dinner.
The menu covers the basics for Irish Pub food. I've had the fish and chips and the bangers and mashed and both were good. Not amazingly good, but darn good. And the price is right.
The bar staff is super friendly and welcoming, so you don't mind sitting alone. There are tables throughout if you are not a belly-up-to-the-bar type. On Tuesday, some regulars get together to play video trivia and get right into it, which is entertaining to watch. Various games are being shown on the multiple TVs they have.
I like the place, and quite possibly could love the place soon. I have more menu items to explore first.
Only improvement could be some extra taps as the beer selection is not what you usually see in a pub that size. But they do have my favorite...Stella...so all is right with Patsy's.
Bottom line - great place and worth a visit! -

When I moved to South OC, specifically Laguna Niguel, I didn't think I find such a cool bar in the neighborhood but thankfully I did.
Patsy's is considered more of a dive bar but not too divey.
They have great food and great cocktails.
My FAVORITE bartender is Richard. Honestly, he's the sweetest guy ever!
I've never had a bad time. Nice people, great drinks, good food.. can't go wrong!

Honestly... it doesn't get better than this in not just Laguna Niguel, but including all surrounding cities! I have been coming to Patsy's since 2006. I grew up down the street and know the area. I've been to all the other bars and NOTHING compares to this gem of a pub. I swear, every time the buddies and I go out, we either go straight to Patsy's or end up at Patsy's wondering why we ever went anywhere else.
It's like two bars in one! There is a side for playing pool and throwing darts with a jukebox and a side for karaoke. Now, I go on Friday and/or Saturday nights and sing my heart out. In fact, you've probably heard me sing "I Touch Myself" or "Semi-Charmed Kinda Life" if you've ever been. But sincerely, if you are looking for an evening you won't soon forget, come here on a Friday/Sat night (be sure to say "Hi" to me) and we'll have a grand time.
The crowd varies in every aspect except one. They are all very cool people. The crowd at Patsy's is open-minded. From having a conversation with a stranger to buying you a drink, nothing but cool people here. The staff are amazing and bartenders are sweethearts. The present owners, Maryanne and Jack are, simply put, amazing people. The kindest most warm-hearted people who always have a smile on their faces and a warm greeting for you as you walk in the door.
I'm sure you're wondering about food and drink... I'm not too familiar with the food, but I know the pizza is amazing! Definitely try one if you haven't! Heard the corned beef is excellent as well! Also not familiar with mixed drinks as it's usually tequila shots and pitchers of beer for me! But I've heard they are made well and a decent price...
Bottom line is, Patsy's *Laguna Niguel* (and I EMPHASIZE Laguna Niguel) is a place you can go to count on having a good time. Come once and you can plan on meeting some new people... Come by again and you'll already have friends waiting for you! I hope to see you there. You can buy me a drink, haha! Cheers! -

Newport Beach, CA
Patsy's is a good local pub for folks living in Laguna Niguel. As previously mentioned by other reviewers the corned beef tacos and green bean appetizer (they call it The Wexford) are delicious. Bartenders Richard, Fabia, Kim and Suzanne are all very nice and personable. You can tell they're veteran bartenders who know how to work a bar, have experience and are friendly and professional. I've had the chance to meet Maryann and Jack who are part of the ownership and they're wonderful. You can tell they care about taking a very good product and making it even better.
Couple of tips both good and bad. Great place to watch football. Tasty breakfast options and reasonably priced food for NFL Sundays. And besides Guinness they have another one of my favorites Sierra Nevada on tap. Avoid the bar side on Tuesdays. There is a lady with the shrillest, most obnoxious, loudest, annoying voice you will ever encounter. She plays trivia with some other regulars after work on Tuesdays. Trust me on this.
Overall, Patsy's is a very enjoyable neighborhood pub with numerous beer choices, friendly bartenders, good service and a nice clientele. -
Review from David C.
San Diego, CA
A decent place to grab a beer when you're in the area and don't want to drive elsewhere. They have Guiness, so at least they have one decent beer on tap. The demographic is roughly late 30s to 40s, with horrible karaoke singing a lot of the time. A great place to go if you want to feel good about your singing voice. Sometimes the staff is nice, other times they are rather brusque. The bouncer always seems like he's trying to pick a fight?
If you can get a driver, I'd suggest you head north, to the land of milk and honey and bars that are better than this one. -

3.5 Stars
This place is not bad for South OC where there is slim pickings for cool bars. I came here with some coworkers one Friday night after work. There are two entrances. The left side is where tables are and the right is where the one bar sized pool table is located. The bar is right in the middle.
Patsy's has Happy Hour M-F 3-6 PM. Items on HH for $5: Three corned beef or fish tacos, onion rings, buffalo wings and fried clams.
HH drinks: Well drinks for $2.50, Domestic Pints or Bottles for $2.25 and House Chardonnay for $2.75.
Patsy's also has Early Bird Specials served Daily 4-7 for $8.25: Bangers and Mash, Roasted Lamb Dinner, Roasted Pork Dinner, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Fish and Chips, and a 7oz Sirloin Steak.
Our party started off with a couple of pitchers of Bass. Good beer sure doesn't hurt the kick off of any meal. We took advantage of the Happy Hour and ordered the corned beef tacos, onion rings and buffalo wings. The corned beef tacos were the best. Very tender, flavorful and topped with a spicy sauce. The first batch of onion rings were on the dark side. They weren't overcooked but darker than they should be. They didn't taste that great. The second batch were good and golden. Maybe they changed out the oil? The buffalo wings were pretty decent. They were juicy with a slight kick.
Service was pretty good and friendly. Our waitress made it a point that she would pour all our beers for us.
I'll most likely be back for Happy Hour. I'm a sucker for HH. Got to make your money stretch further in these times.Listed in: You hate clubs and fancy…, Looking for a Good Deal?

San Diego, CA
Patsy's is like the "Cheers" of Laguna Niguel: huge following of regulars, karaoke on Friday nights, cheap stiff drinks, bartenders who have worked there for 10 years...Patsy's has it all.
Tucked away in a strip mall, Patsy's can be hard to find if you aren't looking for it. It's divided in two sections by a wall: the "pub" and the "pool" (for the pub-side and the pool table side.) The crowd is definitely younger on the pool side, and it gets a lot rowdier over there.
Food is good, they have corned-beef tacos which sound disgusting but are actually really tasty. Other typical pub fare includes bangers n mash, shepards pie, and fish and chips. Their fries are steak-cut and when you smother them in gravy you feel like you could be in the UK somewhere.
Oh, and unlike most bars with female or male names nowadays, there actually IS a Patsy, and she is a very nice lady. -
Review from Justin A.
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
About a decade ago, my wife and lived in the apartments right behind the bar. Luckily, we were already fans of the place, so it was quite the convenient arrangement. Back then the food, drinks, prices, and management were all excellent, and at that time it would have gotten a 5.
Then the new manager took over about 7 years ago, and the place went downhill fast. THe friendly waitresses were replaced with slow, rude eyecandy. The food quality went way downhill, the prices went up, some menu items actually changed (the Suir went from an irish take of beef stroganoff to lamb stew), and the manager was quite rude. Many of the irish items were replaced with standard bar fare like hot wings. At this point, it would have been 2 stars for me
Over the past 3 years, it has been improving. The same manager is there, but he has hired some better staff, and added some new very good irish items back to the menu.
Be careful on the deep fried dishes. I really think they don't change the oil as often as they should - some days they are really good and other days you can tell the oil is bad.
Items to get:
Corned beef tacos - not authentic but literally the best item in the joint!
Burgers - again not Irish but the best anywhere IMO
Shepherds Pie
Irish Whiskey!
Great beers on tap!
Items to avoid:
Deep fried items - in terms of quality anything goes here
Sodas - for as long as I have been going there all there sodas have tasted like carbonated dirt. But hey it is a bar so live it up!
The RAW Oysters have sometimes seemed less than fresh -

Laguna Niguel, CA
What a bad decision this turned out to be...I came here after having wings and a couple brews at Santora's.
I had the next three days off so I figure what the heck.
Walked in saw the usual riff raff and had a Jakc and Ckoe...when she poured it it was like a four orfive second pour. It was pretty much a 4-shot jack with a splash of Coke which is fine because I'm used to Turkey Rocks and of course Jack Rocks on certain occasions.
I had two of those and by the end of the first I was feelin' goot! Very goot! Should have switched to Bud Light and water but a hell what the heck!
Met this guy who gave me props for coming into a dive on a Monday night all dressed up in business attire...totally out of my element according to him...
I ended up buying him and his two female aquaintances a round of Washington Apples. The women thought I was the coolest guy evar!
A little later I met this guy who was having a B-Day and a chick in his group started talkin' to me..about what I don't member'. But I ended up buying a round of Jager for her, the bday boy and his buddy.
And that's about the last thing I remember. I do not know how I got home do not remember getting undressed (I actually put my shoe trees IN my shoes! WOW!!! That's not something someone does after having 10+ drinks in a couple hours...
Normally when I get that trashed I lose my glasses. Done it three times...twice out the window
woke up the next morning..had everything..my watch, my wallet, MY GLASSES! and my keys
I do remember laying in bed and then waking up running outside and yacking...twice. The next morning there was a reminder of what had happened the night before that I had to wash down....with my fire hose of a garden hose
SUMMARY: according to my reciepts
9:37pm 2 Pints of Hef
10:02pm 4 shot jack and coke
10:17pm 4 shot jack and coke
10:21pm 4 washington apples (I had one)

Great place to hang out, eat any Irish dish like fish and chip, banger and mash, lamb pie and there great onion rings. Any every St. Patrick it is full.

Review from Lisa Z.
Any good bar should be comfortable from the moment you walk in, sort of like slipping into an old shoe. That's Patsy's. We've come to think of it as our neighborhood pub, and we try and go in for a drink whenever we have a night out.
I haven't eaten there, mainly because I go there to get my drink on. And, I have to say, the drinks are always good. The staff has always been friendly to me and the service good.
Karaoke is always a entertaining. There's no karaoke pros there and everyone is very supportive of the singers. Even the guys trying to sing Journey, and there seem to be more of those than I would ever wish to see.
If you're looking for a unpretentious neighborhood bar to go kick back and have a drink - hit Patsy's. -

Yep, been going here since 84' or 85', when Patsy and Don opened this place up as 'Patsy's Seafood', sold it the first time to some certifiable 'Nutcase', took it back over, changed the name to Patsy's Irish Pub and expanded it to what it is now. Originally this place was a single bar, that served darn good seafood along with Beer and Wine only and had a half dozen or so tables. Patsy and Don have now 'sold' this location to her Daughter and Son-in-Law, who are now....well the best and most accurate term is - 'Adjusting' to ownership of a restaurant and bar. History lesson over. Local, local Restaurant/bar. I cannot classify this one as a true or classic 'Dive Bar', it's too clean...it just doesn't have the classic, required and prerequisite, stale and foul odor of - Vomiturinestalebeerboozefeces...(Well some of the older patrons do, they mostly live in Leisure World or one of the many Assisted Living/Memory Care facilities that are spread around the immediate community. I would suggest that they install 'Adult Diaper' changing stations in their Bathrooms, specifically for the Care Givers use, when they accompany some of these older and less than continent folks while they visit....of course eating and drinking on their 'Charges' dime. Just watch out when you come in or leave before 5:00 pm. Weebles Wobble and they Crash Their Cars.),but I digress. Very good selection of beers, they probably pour the best Guinness outside of Muldoons in Newport or the other Patsy's in Mission Viejo. Real good selection of high end hard booze, especially their Whiskey's and Scotch's. The one food item that they do extremely well is their Corned Beef and Cabbage. Patsy also started the Corned Beef Taco - Shredded Corn Beef, Cabbage and a little cheese. They will want to give you their salsa with it, PASS, it sucks. Get their Horseradish sauce, use that like salsa and pour it on top, these little 'Gut Bombs' are spectacular! Personally the rest of the menu, all of it, although it claims to be 'Irish' influenced, I disagree, is way TOO salty for me. Never could understand how anyone could add salt to anything that is pickled & cured - meat or fish?? The only real caution or issue with this location is they have a reputation with the local LE - OCSD. After 11:00 pm and particularly from about 1:00 am to closing you WILL run the 'Gauntlet' getting out of there. OCSD uses this place as a DUI Training and Revenue Generation Center. I think that they have a DUI Attorney that actually opens his office at 10:00 pm You have been warned!

Review from rommel h.
(Note: This has nothing to do with a typical night at Patsy's, just Friday Karaoke. To those of you Patsy die-hards, sorry in advance. If you ARE a Patsy die-hard and go on Karaoke night and are still upset, piss off.)
Karaoke, one of my favorite things to do. So when I heard that Patsy's was the Friday night spot, I thought I couldn't go wrong...then I got there. The KJ (Theo) is situated on the more loungy, restaurant side of the bar, which was too bad. I have no idea where they would fit him on the opposite side, but I digress.
The music selection was pretty wide-spread. A little J. Cash, some Phil Collins, even some stuff for those of you out there who like to croon. But in all honesty, it was really the lack of time spent up there that turned me off to the place. The KJ didnt seem to like the fact that I have a karaoke stage name (which he told me he would appreciate if I didn't write anymore), he constantly had people do encores when there was clearly a line, and he didnt even have the second song I requested after about an hour and a half of waiting.
All in all, the place isn't set up as a karaoke bar, which it isn't. The person in charge of the karaoke isn't a good KJ, but then again, he isn't. But the beer selection is pretty decent (Boddington's on tap) and thats always good enough for a few stars. Just be careful whilst hiking along the trail to the bathrooms, cougars have been spotted in the area. -

Mission Viejo, CA
I had a killer time at Patsy's this St. Patrick's Day. Or at least, I think I did. The night remains a bit murky. I suggest going earlier in the night if you want to avoid waiting in line on that particular night.
Regular nights...
Patsy's bartenders mix some STIFF drinks. I usually get a Cape Cod, Vodka Collins, or a Long Island, and in every drink I've had it seems like the mixer was only an afterthought. Rather, I know that the mixer comes in minimal amounts as I've observed them pour. I'm not one to bitch about a strong drink, but for those who want to actually be able to drink their drink (rather than chug it down), Patsy's might not be for you.
The clientele is touch and go. There are cool older people, who I've had good times chatting with. There are younger people. There are certified cougars on the prowl. And there is one rather obnoxious large man who looks like a younger John Candy who likes to get up in the faces of random girls and shout "whores!".Listed in: Dives

Laguna Niguel, CA
If you're looking for a dive bar, this place is great. The staff is friendly, and the beer is good. The food is just ok, but it's a pub, what do you expect? Nothing pretentious about this place, just good old fashioned pub.
The prices are reasonable.
I guess my only complaint is the prevalence of karaoke. I am not a fan, but I guess if nothing else, it's fun to watch the drunks sing Def Leppard with all their heart. -

There are Irish pubs, and then there are IRISH PUBS. Patsy's is an IRISH PUB. People travel from all over Orange County to come to this place. Whether it is a romantic dinner on Friday night, getting crazy on Karaoke Wednesdays, or coming in for a little Sunday morning revival, this place caters to your every need. Good beer selection, authentic food, great service and a dichotomy atmosphere (try both sides of the horseshoe). Patsy's is a must see for anyone living in or traveling through South County.

Mission Viejo, CA
I have been going to Patsy's for several years, which is not many compared to some. It has changed vastly in recent, starting with the change in ownership. Either way this location of Patsy's is always lively and filled with anything from good company, to good dancing / karaoke. I have found that some weekend nights it will be very busy, and other nights you will be hearing crickets. Either way, it is a good spot for your local watering hole. There are regulars both young and old during the week, as well as on the weekends. They have darts, pool, tvs, live music at times, a jukebox, and karaoke on some nights. The staff is very friendly, the owners are always cruising around to make sure you are taken care of, and the kitchen stays open late! So if you need a place to grab a drink with some friends, a spot to watch the game, or somewhere to sing / dance to your hearts desire- you found it. :)

Anaheim, CA
Best local karaoke bar in South Orange County.
I have to respectfully disagree with all the hating going on about this bar. My better half and myself have been the last 3 Saturday's after our favorite karaoke bar Bobby D's in Lake Forest decided to ditch karaoke for a shity band night.
1) I have no idea what Timothy is talking about...The newlywed bartender behind the bar had a nice smile and pours generous amounts of booze into our drinks. Prices were reasonable.
2) The surly bar keep was pretty fair and even handed...Some ass clown grabbed some guys wife's ass and he exited the douche-bag FAST...No fight...No cops...No drama
3) The karaoke is good...Nice list...Had pretty much 3 versions of every song...At most karaoke joints they only have the one.
4) All three nights we had a few drinks and saw ZERO sheriffs on our drive home...My buddy is OCSD and he says there is no "watch list"
5) Good BAR food...If you want a New York Steak go to Flemming's and shoot over for drinks & good tunes.
Bottom Line
I'm not involved as an owner or an employee of this establishment...I'm just a fan of karaoke who is very critical of shity bars (Like the Patsy's in Mission Viejo) and I think this place has been open for 25 years for a reason. The prices are fair...the tunes are good...The regulars (Which I will now be from now on) are nice and supportive if you need it to get on the microphone. -

I certainly love Patsy's. It's my first Cheers! It has always been home. Drinking a half and half with a Rueben has always been just what I've wanted in a bar. Melia and Jim make going to Patsy's always worth it. I never sang Karaoke before Jim's KJing but he gave me the courage to sing. Patsy's is a great bar that everyone should hit up, have a drink, sing a song, and have a Corned Beer Taco!

Irvine, CA
Wow! What a difference a year makes! I've been coming here for YEARS, and there are some major changes in the atmosphere and demographics.
Pros: I'm so glad to see they have fixed up the bathrooms! Some overall upgrades here and there (although the old "dive" Patsy's had it's charm). dance floor is cool. They have the BEST KARAOKE JOCKEY IN ALL OF OC 6 NIGHTS A WEEK! food is good! Staff is friendly. Customers are nice too. Good mix of top 40's dancing and karaoke.
Cons: All the young people are gone- no one under 35 it seemed! Mostly middle-aged, married, south-county yuppies and desperate cougars. No diversity! drink specials are a good deal, but I think their regular priced drink need to come down in price.
Great place overall. check it out!! -

I like this place. Its never crowded.
There are 2 sides, the right side is a little younger, the left side is a little older.
Its kind of a corny place, especially the edited video with pictures saying "GOOD TIMES" "HAVING FUN" but I like that I can come here, grab a drink, sit at the bar, and not have to push through a bunch of goobers.
