It was pretty dark in the bar and a little dated, but I think that is what it was striving to look like. (I've never been to the Big Easy so I can't judge its authenticity.)
When the nights are cold and/or rainy and the piano bar is open this could become very overcrowded because the bar area is actually very tiny. They make up for their size with a very large outdoor seating area, but since it was in fact raining the night we visited everyone was huddled inside. The bathrooms are also interesting since you have to go outside, up a lengthy set of stairs and down some hallways to find it...which isn't easy when you're 3 sheets to the wind, but it does make for a fun adventure. lol
Considering everything is overpriced in CityWalk the drinks were actually a better value for the money here. My friends ordered some pretty hefty Hurricanes and I opted for a Tropical Depression...which actually made me a very happy camper. We didn't partake in the dual piano bar because our mission was to go dancing...but it sure looked like a TON of fun. I'll definitely go back and check that out next time!!!
Atmosphere is nice. Even better after a couple drinks. But over all just a more costly version of a theme repeated at other locations for cheaper.
Was not happy with Pat O on the special rules they have for coupons. We recieved Buy 1 get 1 coupons from a resort supposidly good at all listed bars. Be forwarned. These "City Walk" coupons will work at other locations but Pat 0 cuts off use of them at 9PM. lame.
This place was an absolute blast. I would recommend grabbing a few drinks before you come here - as if you don't have a little buzz going in you might be annoyed before you realize how awesome it is - drunken idiots singing is super annoying unless you are one of them - then its FREAKING AWESOME!!
Hurricanes are huge and $10, but considering you can get a $10 shot/drink at some other places in city walk it's a pretty good bargain for the volume you get. Warning - there's a lot of 151 in there. You will be feeling it.
If you can snag it - get a spot at the front by the piano players. It's fun to be right up in the action. If you REALLY want to get involved then make a request and see if they'll play your song :)
I think we were here for like an hour or 2 and it was the most fun we had all night.
There's nothing like a Pat O'Brien's Hurricane when you're on Bourbon Street in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. When you're not there, it's nice to find places that remind you of the great memories you once had. Pat O'Brien's at Citywalk in Orlando brought back those great memories and helped make some new memories. The staff and other patrons were very friendly and the Hurricanes were very tasty.
The place has a dark Irish pub feel to it with a ceiling riddled with pottery and a low-brow bar. The musicians are top notch. You will see some of the greatest Piano and harmonica played here. There is a smaller sports bar to the left that usually is kinda empty and an open seating area in the outdoor back. The bar service is below average. Not very attentive or friendly. But, it's a great place to relax and sing along to any song you request.
DUELING COUGARS
While I've never been to the original in New Orleans, this location serves up stiff drinks, a mean jambalaya, dueling pianos playing everything from Billy Joel to Outkast, and an unpretentious crowd that just wants to get drunk and have a good time. Just watch out for cougars on the prowl!
This is great dueling piano bar, located in the very crowded-tourist hot spot known as Citywalk at Universal Orlando. Try a Hurricane here and ONE should get you thru the entire night... If you dare to try multiple Hurricanes, be forewarned that you will get sick and/or have a massive hangover the next morning.
The music and crowd are fun and unpretentious. The only thing that kinda sucks is space. Compared to Howl at the Moon, Pat O'Briens' dueling piano bar area is very limited in terms of seating.
This is a fun pub loved by Irishmen and us folk from the states alike. They have several different areas under one roof, there's a bar room with a big wooden bar and several tables to hang at, a large room with dueling pianos for singing and laughing along to the music, and a cool outdoor patio with a flaming fountain, a real unique sight. While here be sure to try the ever famous New Orleans Hurricane. This drink concoction has about 5 different liquors in to but you'd never know it with its sweet fruity taste. Just be careful not to drink too many or you'll end up not being able to get up. I had the appetizer sampler platter while here, it was pretty standard and I enjoyed it. This is a good spot to grab some drinks, kick back and relax.
