A nice little place with that old nostalgic feel. Great charm and nice people. It seems to be one of the only places in town that stays open later.
The menu seems to be mostly sandwich type items. We had the BBQ on Texas toast and onion rings. Great onion rings that were not greasy. The sandwich was a good size with the right amount of BBQ sauce.
Overall a nice place with good food. Very clean and good prices. I would have given 5 stars, but the menu is very limited.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 16, 2020
We ate here last Saturday evening and had BLTs along with drinks. It was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. The place is a bit off the beaten path, but right across the street from a large public parking lot. It was cold that day, but they had the place nice and toasty and the bathrooms were very clean. It's just a great little spot and you should stop on by for BLT's and a beer.

It was our third time there. And, of course, we'll be back. Great Bloody Mary's. The mushrooms are the main reason we were back. And once again, they were splendiferous!!!!! This time my wife and I split the Philly sandwich with their seasoned fries. Excellent as expected. But, the bacon cheeseburger is hard to beat. However, the B L T with batter dipped deep fried bacon is definitely on our next to eat list.
Hint: Get there when they open at 11:00. No waiting. The place is small and popular. Later in the afternoon when the crowd stars pouring in you may have a short wait.
It'll be worth it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sylvia G.Independence, MO925851Aug 14, 2019
Good food. Pleasant atmosphere. We tried the deep fried bacon but to be honest it was too thin to appreciate the bacon. I've had better. Our meal was good but greasy. The service was awesome and we will def be back.

My husband and I were about two hours early for a wedding at the Red Barn Farm and I could hear his stomach growling over the radio in my car. We decided to stroll down Main Street to see what kinds of restaurants were open. We stumbled upon Pastimes and saw they were reasonably priced and had a cheeseburger that was could split.
Walking into the restaurant, we were the only customers. We didn't know if we were supposed to order at the bar or be seated and wait for someone to take our order. The cook, an older woman, was pretty gruff and told us to sit down and someone would serve us.
Thank goodness our server was more friendly. We were taken care of and enjoyed our meal. I overheard them saying to another patron that they make their burgers in house. While our meal was good, it was a typical Grill experiences. Nothing out of the ordinary. Although, I did appreciate the grilled onions on the burger.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1071139242Dec 10, 2016
Eating here yesterday was a happy accident because the place we'd planned to eat was too full. It was alittle after the noon hour and we were there by ourselves for a bit.
It was a cold day, but their salads sounded so good, one of our group got the oriental salad, which was huge.
Mom got fried catfish with fries, a special.
I got fried mushrooms starter with a mushroom swiss burger (I like mushrooms).
Everything was great! The seasoned fries were awesome. The fried mushrooms were freshly battered (not those nasty frozen ones!) The burger was really tasty and so was the catfish.
A couple of small glitches: we ordered hot tea and the water was lukewarm and my burger had more onions on it than mushrooms. Just having sweet & sour sauce as the salad dressing wouldn't have been my choice, but I'm sure they"d have provided something else as an option if asked.
Still very happy to have stopped here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 94141303Nov 4, 2018
Cute little hole in the wall restaurant that served up some legit chicken fingers, burgers (and a patty melt). My husband, Dad, Mom and daughter were all but licking our plates at the end of our meal! The onion rings were to die for, and my Dad and I enjoyed the KC Bier Co Dunkel Bier. All in all a satisfyingly delicious experience!

Really wasn't impressed. Had a grilled chicken breast sandwich that was really two grilled chicken tenders.
It was my only visit, so maybe it was a a bad day.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 7, 2017
Fabulous - great waitress Virginia - food was great. 2/5ths of us were from out of town and would return next time we are here. Only suggestion is to get some white wine; although, the white Zinfandel was good.

When you walk inside you are greeted by a very nice lady. There's a lot to look at on the walls while listening to swing style music playing. Reminiscent of the 40s the music makes me smile. It's is low enough to allow conversations across tables. They make their hamburgers here and mine was perfect. Nearby an old stove has ice skates hanging on it. I can see why people enjoy coming here. It's inviting.
Service was great and the food was served hot. A great place to have lunch or whatever in this quaint town.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
