Quick service, but the folks who work here are stressed. Maybe it's the owner? Anyways, very professional and they know how to make needed changes quick. Thanks.

I ditched the Health Department for my travel vaccination because I believe in paying for the timely service Passport health provides. Efficiency, private, and seems like they know their stuff. I consider myself a very patient, understanding, and I myself am in a service industry where I don't expect much, but here is the ordeal of my day today.
Appointment 9am. Nurse comes in right at 9am, I wait about 10 more minutes after checking in at 8:50am. Everyone was nice, but man was the office infested with germ/cold everyone was coughing...yikes including the nurse and her trainee in my private session. I was given my packet with all the essentials I need for vaccination. I consulted with her for the Hep A, Hep B, Polio, Jap Encephalitis since I'm hitting India/Nepal/Thailand. She, nurse Clare Pegues, took great deal of time informing me the situations of each country, mentions Hep is needed if I go to Thailand since it has high rate of prostitution ring in the region...whoa...yes I understand you have the info and wanted to state that...but I'm thai, I don't appreciate this kind of subject matter when your mention of sex trade in Thailand is big and I need a shot for it. I hope she didn't assume things. Ok, point taken...I ignored. Polio, I said I may need a booster, so she marked it down. Jap Enceph she asked if I'm going to be in one city that the disease is rampant or I would be camping outdoors. I said no, I might visit the city, but not doing outdoors. I don't think I need it now, she insisted it needs 2 shots prior to my departure, "decision has to be made today"...well hey I needed to consult with my mother, the shot is $290 each, times 2, I can't make a decision within minutes. Then she mention flu is rampant in Asia all year around, I said I might do it so she marked it. Then, comes the anti-malaria pills, she went on about getting a full prescription, but I told her that my physician is working on that and my insurance company, and if not I'll get the pills in Bangkok. She mentions pharmacy and drugs in Asia isn't as good as here. Good! Next she ask me about preparing mosquito repellent. I said I'm fine, I have my own stuff (the buzzer thing, and the sprays), she questions me how it works, if it works well, how much ingredients are in my sprays (-_-), and bam she shows me these mosquito repellents from 3M which has 35% Deet which is more effective. I'm not interested, thank you. Finally, I had a quick chat with my mother, and I decided to go with only Twinrix shot first, and the other ones decide later, she was sure pissed and disappointed and again kept going on with I should decide to do my polio, flu, and jap enceph (which I don't need), and the repellents. She got me to pay my shot, got the vaccine, quick alcohol rub then bam stab me in my arm w/o warning and slapped on my wound a bandaid. What's the rush lady. I'd appreciate the warning and some care next time, my arm was perfectly fine until I left the building I realize it hit my nerve, my arm was irritated even now. Oh lastly, the worst part of all is this lady, she doesn't hand you things, she tosses paperwork and appointment cards at the end like you're just a grade school student. Now I think that pretty much gave me the reason why I wanted to write on yelp...would you like your papers and forms tossed at you? :( -

Came here for the TB test. I have no symptoms of TB. I just needed the documentation.
The breakdown:
Ambience: 4/5
Clean: 4/5
Service: 0/5
My Experience Rating: F
Location: 4/5
Parking: 3/5
Wait: 5/5
My Convenience Rating: B
Pros:
- $42 TB Skin Test, No Doctor Visit Fees.
- Friendly front desk lady.
- Located in a nice office building.
- The elevator is super fast.
Cons:
- Impatient elderly nurse.
- No chest x-ray here.
Tip: It's located on the 18th floor.
Bottom Line: My skin test turned out positive because being born in a foreign country I had BCG Vaccine as a kid. I told them maybe I should just go ahead and get a chest x-ray instead, but they insisted that I should get the skin test first. The nurse who administered the shot was rather impatient with me and rushed me into the skin test. She said there's a chance that the skin test may not come out positive. Three days later, $42 wasted, sure enough my skin test turned out positive. And then she tells me, I warned you this might happen.
Now I have to go spend another $100+ to get chest x-ray done.
This might be the place to get vaccinated for travel. I just had a very bad experience with them.
Follow up: I went to get my chest x-ray done and the doctor said, yes that $42 was a waste of money. With BCG Vaccine, a TB Skin test is almost always going to come out positive. My chest x-ray came out negative. -

I recently had to get a TB test for school - I called around and found Passport Health had the best price. I called to schedule the appointment and they scheduled both the injection and the reading (two days later). Parking can be tricky because they don't validate, but there is a lot of street parking on Wilshire and there is a public lot on Cochran just south of Wilshire.
The office is lovely, with travel photos on the walls, and everybody was really nice. I waited maybe five minutes before the nurse called me back, and I was out of there ten minutes later! I'm horrible with shots (I can't look!), but the nurse was very gentle and even gave me a lollipop as a distraction :)
Same when I went back to get the test read - I was in and out in less than ten minutes.
I will definitely come back here for any immunizations I may need. I am due for a tetanus shot next year - when I asked about it they said they do Tetanus shots, flu shots, vitamin B, and a bunch of other ones I can't remember in addition to all the regular travel vaccinations. So as much as I hate shots, I certainly know where to go if I need one! -

Initially I assumed my shot would be administered in a bleak and overly bright doctor's office. However, after receiving an online intake form, I started thinking that this place may be different. I was right. When I entered the reception area I was greeted by a friendly hello and couldn't help but notice the office was uniquely decorated with global travel photos. They even had travel accessories for sale such as insect repellent, plug converters and passport wallets. I look at this as very considerate because there is always something you may have forgotten before you travel overseas. This type of consideration continued when RN Marlene Aziz greeted me and asked me to follow her. My wait time up to this point had been no more than 3 minutes. Not only was the patient room or office comfortable, but also RN Aziz was very affable and knowledgeable. What I thought was going to be a mundane jab in the arm turned out to be a sincerely informative consultation about overseas travel and diseases associated with particular areas. Although I've been to over 30 countries, RN Aziz did a great job of educating me and the shot was painless. They even have tootsie pops to make you feel like a kid again. Overall my experience turned out to be exactly opposite of the traditionallly viewed doctor's office visit. A+ for Passport and especially RN Aziz.

I could not imagine a better vaccination experience than at Passport Health. They're extremely organized. The booklet they give you covers all of the required and suggested immunizations, preventative measures, and even suggestions on traveler's insurance.
The RN, Ronnie, is an absolute JOY. I loved her. She answered all of my questions and researched the latest outbreaks in the country I was going to online so I knew what some of the higher risk illnesses were. I spread out my shots 5 total, so I wouldn't be too achy. The shots didn't hurt as bad as I thought they would. Part of that is because Ronnie was so friendly, you can tell she really enjoys her job and that makes a huge difference in the experience.
I'm not sure how the prices compare, but they didn't seem that bad and for the organization and level of service, I would whole-heartedly recommend this place. -

I needed a yellow fever shot for travel to Brazil. I checked several places in the mid town area for prices and this one gave me the best price. Not only that but I got an immediate appointment and was in and out within 30 minutes. The booklet they printed out mentioned by a previous reviewer was a nice touch and had some good information in it.

Got my encephalitis immunization yesterday, and I'm still here. Can't beat that.
A fine experience, even for those of us not keen on getting shot. The receptionist was living a hectic life, indicating a high level of popularity for this place. Even when most of us are too poor to travel.
But protection is important...if you're going to ride MTA buses. -

This place is a great place to go get your vaccinations! They are friendly, helpful and polite! Upon arriving they gave me a booklet that they printed out for me (over the phone when making your appt you tell them where you are going) for the area i was traveling too and all the information i'd need on all the shots, problems and health precautions. They really make you feel comfortable and want you to know everything to make your trip as safe and healthy as possible. :)
