This is a great establishment to go to if you want some great India food. There's a wide assortment in a buffet style restaurant. There's a small store in a corner of the building as well. It caters to the India diet.
The restaurant is very clean. The bathroom is clean,. All is handicap accessible. The food is delicious. A bit spicy for me but then I don't ever use salt and pepper.
The drink I chose out of many to choose from was the chocolate lemonade. WOW!! Light and refreshing. The hint of chocolate is greeted by the hint of lemonade. Neither of them are overbearing to the other. The drink is non alcoholic.
The restaurant is suitable for groups, however the ambiance is quiet and the curtains are drawn. There's a place to look up bikes and there is plenty of parking. Some of the parking is a bit testy. The food is affordable. Especially considering the buffet and you can go back as many times as you want. My favorite was the white rice. It tasted different than the white rice I'm used to. Then again, this is the first time I've ever had Indian food. I could have filled up on the rice and drink. The drink was a bit spend, it didn't come with refills.
The only reason I'm rating four stars is because I think it would help if Passage to India put name of dish in English along side the name Indian and posted neatly.
Overall I feel this restaurant is over the top. I will definitely return to this restaurant for more Indian food soon.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Myvegangirl T.Tumwater, WA245054Feb 15, 2015
This is definitely not Curry Corner but I wanted to give them a fair try once more. The chai is not sweetened here but there's plenty of sugar at your table. The restaurant is always clean and hardly ever has more than 2 tables occupied.
I had the mildly spiced lentil and bean dal, my husband had the chicken masala. The dal was so mildly spiced I couldn't make out they were spiced at all. My husband said he wished his masala was a bit creamier. The nan however, would make me come back for it alone.
The veggie pakora is well spiced and perfectly cooked. This is another food I'd come back for.
The ladies bathroom, although clean, smells like sewer. I don't remember this being the case a few years back but it definitely is now.
They have groceries now too. So if you are hunting for that one ingredient you can't find at your favorite store, you might find it here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 20, 2016
Maybe two and a half. Ive been here twice...first time had the lamb curry and today I had a dish, I dont remember the name...but its basmati rice with chicken lamb shrimp saffron and veggies. The food is decent...but the prices are somewhat high. You dont get a lot of food. And for instance the dish I had today had maybe two chunks of lamb, two chunks of chicken and a shrimp cut into two pieces...i dont not see why that should be $14. You hAve to pay an extra $3-4 for your naan. So even with just drinking water, my lunch was $20. The lady that serves you is not exactly friendly either. Nothing great about this place at all.

This place was absolutely delicious! Me and a friend came in at 5 on a Tuesday and were not sure if it was open it was still early though so we weren't too worried when no one else was here yet.
We ordered the Lamb Tikka Marsala, Coconut chicken curry, both medium spicy, and garlic naan. The nann was so crispy and delicious I kept dipping it in the curry and Marsala. The chicken and lamb were both cooked perfectly and I don't usually like lamb because it's too dry but this was so juicy like it had been marinated for a hundred years. I couldn't put down my fork.
When the dishes came out I thought that the sizes were not going to be enough food but to my surprise, me and my man friend were unable to finish any of it and are stoked for left overs tonight!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kristyne M.Olympia, WA215817Feb 22, 2016
If I were rating them simply on the quality of their breads and specialty beverages, this would be a five star review. You will not find better breads anywhere. There are some creative lemonades that are wonderful as well.
As for their food, nothing wrong with it. Nothing terribly memorable there. Order a lot of naan and you won't care.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie S.Lakewood, WA1995Aug 24, 2014
I cannot speak to the food because it was after 9:30 and their bar didn't serve food. I went for a friends birthday party and was excited for some karaoke. In the past we have always had a good time. However, the host Becky seems to be a girl with a toy she likes to turn up loud. It wasn't about singing and fun. It was so loud. The expressions on peoples faces, people plugging their ears, and even Scott the bartender asked her to it down. She refused. We will never come here again!

We had a gift certificate on a mobile restaurant app that brought us in. When we got there, there was only one other couple in the place at 6:30 on a Friday night. That should have been a clue... We ordered Vegetable Korma, Tandoori Chicken and Karahi Gosht. The food was OK. The vegetable Korma was edible, the Karahi gosht was pretty flavorful- for chicken breast (not Lamb!!)... The kids liked the tandoori chicken, even though it was slathered in Chili garlic sauce from the asian market and cooked to a bone dry crisp on the bottom. The service was lack-luster, the only music was the shitty jukebox blaring from the bar which made it a little awkward. The womens restroom smelled awful. I'm not sure what's going on there. I hope the kitchen is cleaner or I may have another review to write about the food poisoning.
When I told the server that we had the gift certificate on the app and showed it to her, she said we would have to have a printed version (I've never encountered this before using this app) and that we could bring it in next time we came. If you read this review, it's pretty clear that I already did not plan on coming again. Ever. I asked to speak to the manager and she said the owner was not available and I could not use my $25 gift certificate if it wasn't printed, so I took my children to Office Depot to print it out. Then, they still tried to charge us extra, even after they had the printed version of the certificate. I can not believe how rude they were about this and if the over priced, so-so food didn't keep me from returning, the awful attitude of the woman we dealt with sure will. I definitely DO NOT recommend!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Celia C.Portland, OR3521May 31, 2015
My first visit here, on a Saturday evening.
The good: really yummy food!! Mango lassi and saag paneer (they called it something else but "saag" is what I know it as; spinach paneer) was soooo good. Waitstaff was friendly and prompt.
The meh: it was kindof expensive, but I'm a little new to the area, so it might be reasonable....
The huh?: it was totally empty, which surprised me. I was the only patron the whole time I was there. But they have a lounge; maybe there were people in there.
The conclusion: I am looking forward to coming back, and would recommend it to friends.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anna N.Lacey, WA022Aug 24, 2009
This is one of my favorite places for takeout and the lunch buffet is great, too. I can't get enough of their butter chicken! Having said that, the portions are so generous, that sometimes I can get two dinners and a lunch out of one take-out serving, especially if ther is naan bread to go with it. I am writing this after I've just had some and felt moved to share :))))) The service is always great: very attentive and fast.
It gets moderately busy for lunch, but they keep up with replenishing the buffet very well. I am always surprised at how few people have dinner there. I hope they get enough customers to stay in business, because I would be devastated if they didn't make it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jody F.Olympia, WA12148Mar 4, 2008First to Review
I've been coming here for years - it used to be Mehfil... and, according to local lore, was a fried chicken joint in a former life.
Today's lunch buffet was sub-par. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't that good. The Saag was Paneer-less (translation: the overcooked but quite tasty curried spinach was prepared without fresh cheese). There was no korma. Bah.
I'll try again, though, because it's usually better.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
