I feel bad because I generally only Yelp! on bad restaurants... and I can FINALLY yelp about something GREAT!

After living in Yuba City for 1 year, my husband and I finally made it out to Pasquini's. We came on a friday night, and saw a lot of cars, so were nervous that it would be packed. Ends up everyone was in the bar watching the ball game!

We were seated immediately, and had water right away. Our hostess was very nice and apparently a local, because she was chatting with everyone. We got our drinks and bread, which came with oil and vinegar. I do wish there was less oil and more vinegar, because they had it way over-loaded with oil.

We both ordered meals with soup or salad - my husband got the white bean soup, I ordered the creamy itallian with gorgonzola cheese. I have to say.... never having gorgonzola cheese before, I wasn't sure what I would be in for.... IT. WAS. DELICIOUS. I know, just a simple salad...but I could have had that for dinner and been happy with it. I'm pretty sure I mentioned to my husband 3 or 4 times how good it was. He finished off his entire white bean soup, which he drained and admitted that he usually did not enjoy bean soups but that was very delicious.

We both ordered simple pasta dishes for dinner, but that was fine because we didn't come for the steak Jon (that will be our next trip!)

Great Italian food. I've ate here a lot and never leave disappointed. I always look forward to trying their nightly specials. Plates range from 15-30 dollars, fair prices for the food, ambiance, and fine dinning experience (which is difficult to find in Yuba-Sutter).

A few years ago they remodled and it really changed the interior of this place.  Prior to, this place would of been described as a hole in the wall, not a diamond in the ruff.  The food has always been great though.

Monday night they have a pasta night and have relatively cheap plates.  They have a web site http://www.pasquinisfi.../ and they have an email list that you can sign up on and be informed of promotions and specials that they have going on, and they throw you a coupon every once in a while too, (always one for your birthday).

This is a staple in the area and by far one of the most popular date night places.

The food is fairly standard but it's definitely in an odd location. If you're not a local, don't be frightened :) I swear you'll enjoy the food and ambiance.  No need to fear the orchards near by or the odd row of houses, it's cool, I swear.

I've always loved coming here and growing up it'd be the special place my friend's g-ma would take us if we were good girls :)

Talk about a diamond in the rough!!!!!

This place is out of the way, and if you blink you will miss it.  The food was top shelf, and the crab cakes to die for.  I had the cannelloni Pasquini, and it was a little dry, but with the addition of some marinara sauce, PRIMO!!  The wedge salad was fresh, crisp and full of flavor.  The atmosphere is inviting, and the service spot on.  I look forward to going back.

Me and my wife drove 40 miles to try this one out. My wife had heard it was good. WOW soo overatted. Maybe I am just use to nicer restaraunts in the city that charge the same but provide better food, service, and atmoshpere.

We have never been asked to leave a restaurant until tonight. We had waited an hour for a table and then after a reasonable amount of dining time the owner asked us to leave. Not cool.  He was very rude. I am sorry if other people were waiting for a table but we were paying customers, too. Beware. Don't talk over dinner. The food is fairly good, but the staff needs training in customer relations.

I had never been to the place prior to the renovation, so I can write this review without any former attachment figuring in. Of the 3 times that I have eaten at Pasquinis, I have ordered the same dish each time. Steak Jon with sauteed mushrooms is so delicious that I cannot imagine ordering anything else. Each bite of the steak is tender and juicy.

For dessert we ordered mud pie. At first it was rock hard, but was outstanding after allowing it to melt a little. On a final note, I noticed someone else recommended ordering the wedge salad. This is basically half a head of lettuce, so keep that in mind if you want to have room for anything else.

My partner and I decided to try this place out after seeing it on a drive. We waiting 20 minutes after being seated, they came to the table twice to fill our glasses of water, but NO ONE came to take our drink or dinner order. I expect more from a so called classy restaurant. So we left, and on our way out we told the host we were leaving and why. All she said was, "Sorry."

I can't believe this place is only at 3 stars.  I grew up in Live Oak and this place was a staple for both family and friends.  Since moving away in 1993, I am now back to visit a couple of times a year.  Every trip, I try to make it to Pasquini's.  Their remodel is beautiful and the food has only gone up over the years (in my opinion).  They grow almost all of their own produce and the menu selections are fresh and delicious.  For an area that is slightly lacking in good options for eating out I highly recommend trying this place.

    Pasquini's totally exceeded my expectations.
We had been very curious to try it for a while... we had heard good things, it's been there longer than most can remember and it's hard to resist any restaurant with a beautiful garden. Even despite these things we had been cautious partly because of the prices but also the mediocre Yelp reviews.
After having gone this past Friday I can honestly say any unfavorable review is a mystery. The ambiance and decor was beautiful!
We ordered an appetizer of calamari and it may have been the best calamari I've ever had. Most at our table did order the wedge salads and they were huge, topped with large chunks of gorgonzola. I order the Chicken Picatta, the chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. The flavors were wonderfully bold.
The prices are a bit on the high side but the level of the dining experience definitely warranted it. An unexpected oasis, we will be returning to Pasquini's often.

Its been a long while since I've been to Pasquini's. I can truthfully say it will probably be a long time until I go back.
So... why the bad review, you say?
A couple of things. Pasquini's has been recently taken over and renovated. So its unlikely that if you haven't eaten here in a while that the experience will be like your old memories.  Many people, myself included, had fond memories of the people that ran the place. It was something you either loved or didn't. Nobody ever went there for the food.
Things haven't gotten better. The place is angular, and therefore noisy.
The menu was incredibly limited (we chanced into the place on spaghetti night).  A couple of varieties of spaghetti sauce, some commercial ravioli, and a couple of steaks. Period.
We got spaghetti and as usual Stormy and I shared the plate. We ordered meatballs on the side because of our mutual love of the meatball.
So first, the pasta was cooked ok. The sauce was excellent.  We had a pathetic salad to begin the meal (no choice of dressing, just chopped romaine and creamy italian). The meatballs were a disaster. The had too much breading in them, the onions were in huge chunks and to top it all the meatballs were not completely cooked.
The ambiance gave Stormy a headache from the noise levels on the hard surfaces. It was much too load, even for me, to talk comfortably. Don't try to even think of doing business in this place.
And, to top it all, it was a Monday night and we couldn't get the hostess to give a %^&&*( about wheter to seat us or not.
Why would you eat here? Well its kid friendly, and not too expensive. If you live in the area it keeps you out of Yuba City.

I went here on a Monday with a friend and was actually surprised. I mean seriously, this is Yuba City and Marysville home to many folks who probably don't know the difference between hamburger helper and steak tartare. With that out of the way, Monday was packed full of locals guzzling beer and cocktails at a cheap price and seemed as though everyone ordered Steak Jon. This dish is cubes of steak tips marinated and grilled served with a special (they wont say) sauce. SO GOOD. The spaghetti was only $8 and it was satisfying. Not watery and full of meat. The decor is beautiful with attention to small detail. I would be happy drinking their cheap beer and eating steak jon all night here..

My husband and I went here last week with another couple for dinner. The hostess seemed a bit ditzy and overwhelmed, but our server was great. There were two buss boys helping out so we never sat with empty glasses or dirty plates in front of us. I'm a server so I'm really critical of service at restaurants and was very pleased with the service here. I ordered a drink and the bartender forgot the extra lemon I asked for and the server noticed and brought out more lemon for me. I like it when a server notices and remembers all the details. The food was great, the drinks were great, the service was great. Although our bill was a bit high, I'm willing to pay extra for better food and better service. I deducted 1 star for the hostess who was a little off and was sort of short with us.

It's been years since I ate at Pasquini's.  My recollection was of a simple, old fashioned style Italian restaurant.  We walked in and were amazed by the new Pasquini's.  The restaurant has been renovated, remodeled and and looks wonderful!  We got in early and were immediately seated by a very pleasant staff.   The service was impeccable and the food was great.  We both ordered a "Wedge" salad, which was excellent and enormous.  We ordered one of the daily special pasta dishes (Tagliatelle Bolognese) and one from the menu (Spicy Penne).  Both were delicious and well presented.  We are definitely looking forward to our next trip through Live Oak and a chance to stop at Pasquini's.
