I take my dog here all the time!!  If he gets tired of running around at the park there is plenty of room on the hill to chase ground squirrels.  Good place to run and get the hear puppin for me too.

Great views of Diablo Valley if you go to the top.

My puppy and I love this dog park.  It has lots of trees and plenty of space for the dogs to run around and play together in.  It seems well maintained and there's a good water station.  We haven't had any trouble with other dogs or their owners here.  Closed all day Sundays and Tuesdays until 3.

The adjacent park itself is pretty cool too but I wish it allowed well-behaved dogs to hike off-leash.

Dog Park Review.

Huge large dog area with benches in the shade for people to sit and water for the dogs is available.

Decent sized small dog area.

Its kept up pretty well, there is no cement trail or anything for people to walk on, so you gotta watch where you step.  Worth a look if your in the area.  I love how big the large dog area is, I think its the highlight of this park.  CLOSED on SUNDAYS.

The only reason this dog park doesn't get 5 stars from me is because there is no bathroom facility and it's closed on Sundays.

However, it is a great dog park.  George loves it.  We were regulars at the Heather Farms park but it closed for a couple of months and we ended up at Paso Nogal.  It is hard to find, but once you do--it's awesome.

The people are pretty chill and the dogs are great.  Responsible owners abound in the small dog side.  The big dog side has a few rogue owners who think it's funny to watch their dog taunt the small dogs along the fence.

The grass is green and plentiful.  Bring your own chair though.  The benches on the small side are so odd and uncomfortable.    You'll see what I mean and the next time you'll bring a chair if you're anything like me -- comfort is king.

It is closed on Sundays and it closes for 3 days after a rain so make sure to call and confirm it's open after a rain.

I like this place because its near where we live and there is plenty of room for Tucker to run around and chase the other dogs. Most people are pretty cool and watch after their dog. No one likes to step in poop.  There are the talkers and the people that keep to themselves. The wife and I don't make a lot of conversation with the other dog owners, but we make small talk about breed types. The parking is pretty bad, so you either park on the road and wait for a spot.

Very nice park and somewhat convient to stores.

In the hills above Pleasant Hill and Martinez.

dual fenced area for large breed and smaller breeds.
water and nearby hiking trails.
lush grass area and a water station with hoses on a concrete surface.
active owners group in the small dog area...
check it out...
they bring chairs and sit around and socialize...
everyone is known by their dogs name.

Cute.

My two dogs seem to love this park much better than Heather Farm or Newhall.  Chewie and Toro have made tons of dog friends here where the small dog area is big enough, but the parking lot is not.  The people at this park are really nice and they make everyone feel welcome.  This park is not the closest to me, but worth the extra drive.

This is a great park, water buckets all around, trees for shade, and plenty of seating, separate small dog area. Lots of LARGE dogs make it unsuitable for small children.

Minus two stars for being closed on Sundays.

This review is for the hiking trails in the hills above the dog park.
The trails have gorgeous views of Mt Diablo and the nearby towns. Climbing up and down the hills is a great work out. The park apparently has some wild life too - I have seen a snake and a coyote in this park.
The poor rating is not for the park itself but for the dog owners who let their dogs roam without a leash and don't clean up after their pets.
At any given time, there are several dogs roaming the park without a leash. Some of the dogs are big and aggressive. And some owners glare at you as if it's your mistake that their dog came panting towards you and tried to paw you. There's dog poo all over the park. It's not only disgusting, but also a health hazard.
Right there at the entrance to the hiking trail there is a board which states clearly that dogs must be on a leash and that owners need to clean up after their pets. What part of that is not clear?
This disregard for the rules shows a lack of civic sense and utter disrespect for fellow human beings.
I understand the owners' desire to let their dogs roam freely without a leash. But isn't there a park right below for that very purpose? In fact, there's 2 parks - one for smaller dogs and another for bigger dogs where owners can let their dogs play.

Although the park was a bit hard to find and I did get lost, it was well worth the trip here. Charlie had a wonderful time and he got a chance to meet my friends, who recommended this park. The owners were responsible and the dogs were oh-so-cute! The water buckets came in handy too. I've been to Pt. Isabel quite a few times, but I got a better vibe from Paso Nogal Park. Dogs, especially little ones, did not nip or growl at my growing puppy.  I love the fact that the small dogs are separated from the big dogs. This was a great place for him to socialize and have some fun. Charlie and I will be coming back again!:) Woof!

No shade in small dog area so not very good in warm weather. Just a few uncomfortable benches to sit on.

I love this place. I take my dog here whenever I can. He is a 15 pound doxie mix and plays in the big dog section as well as in the small doggie section. The park is HUGE and well maintained. Everyone is really friendly and the dogs are for the most part very well behaved. It's not open on Sundays, which is the only negative.

The only reason I'm not giving this dog park four stars is because my dog was attacked here.  The park itself is really cool.  There is a huge grassy area where the big dogs can run off leash and chase balls.  Plus there is a "drinking station" if you will where they have supplied a bucket of water.  I really like that they have a separate pen for smaller dogs so they don't get trampled.  Plus, there is a wooded area that you can take your pup on leash for a hike.
I know what you're thinking, there must be something wrong with you that your dog was attacked.  But really, he was minding his own business peeing on trees and a particular dog (about 1/3 of my dog's size) was not minding his owner and would steal my dogs ball.  The owner was having a difficult time getting her pup relinquish the coveted ball and when he finally did he attacked my dog for it out of the blue.
All in all this dog park is cool, but just be weary that even if you know you can control your dog, other owners may not be able to control theirs.

Sugar & I give this park a high five, serious "woo hoo bark!"  It has grass, responsible owners, and a parking lot.  It is difficult to find, but worth the hunt.   They provide giants buckets that you can fill with fresh water, and a welcome supply of poop bags.  It does get crowded, especially on weekends and mid afternoons.  Our only issue is something you really can't control, but need to be aware of when it happens-- dog owners who bring their small children, and don't supervise.  Sometimes, a dog doesn't want to be chased, or ridden like a pony..overall, a great park for dogs.

Thomas gives this park two paws up. The small dog area is a bit on the small side; I think the small dog area at Newhall is a little larger. The large dog play area is HUGE and Thomas loves the fact that he now has 10x more area to pee on. The fencing is a little shoddy, and I wish that the park was tucked away a little farther from the street. I also wish that there were more trash cans around the park so that I wouldn't have to hike a million miles to throw away my dog's business.

This park kind of pops up out of nowhere...   It's like a diamond in the rough!  My dogs get along with the other dogs here, and the owners are (for the most part) very welcoming and nice.  There's the occasional owner that thinks his 100 pound dog "just wants to play" with the small dogs and brings him into the small dog side, but for the most part I haven't had any negative experiences.  The parking sucks if you try to go peak time (Saturday afternoon) but there are plenty of street spaces.  Also, the park isn't open on Sundays (at least that's what I've heard, I've never actually tried to go on a Sunday).  Check it out!  Much better than Newhall dog park!
