OMG OMG OMG!! It's a freaking cuban/vietnamese sandwich combo!!! At first it was like biting into a yummy Vietnamese sandwich because of the cilantro and bread, then it was like biting into a Cuban sandwich because of the pork...then the pork started tasting like an awesome Vietnamese meatball...then I fell out of my seat and started drooling like a mad woman. The combination of yummy deliciousness made my head swim and I wanted more!!
But it was a last minute trip before heading out to the airport. I tasted the number 1 and 2. How the hell was this my last meal? I should have eaten freaking lunch and dinner everyday here when I was in Seattle. Don't miss out on this place. The bread is crunchy, the onions are amazing and the meat is so good.
Of course I'm on the "I LOVE PASEO" bandwagon - and lucky me, since I only live a few blocks away!
All their food is delish, but honestly it's *all* about the sandwiches. Head here with some cash (and some patience, the line can get out of control especially during lunch & dinner) and order up the Midnight Cuban, because their pork is really the best. If you like spicy, leave it as is with jalapenos, otherwise you can ask to leave them off.
Oh yeah, and don't forget the napkins, you'll need them.
Paseo's has alluded me for oh so long.
My first trip as an adult to Washington, I posted on the Yelp Talk Seattle, asking what the MUST eats are for a foodie like me visiting a new area. Multiple people said Paseo, and it was the only continuous answer I got (thanks, Yelpers!). I tried to get my coworkers to go, but we didn't have time between meetings.
Second time, I tried to stop by before going to the airport, but the taxi driver said it was in the opposite direction, and I might not have enough time to make my flight.
Third time, we finally made it to Paseo's... only to find it was "closed for winter break." It was the end of January, not the holidays. WHO DOES THAT?!
So this time I land in Seattle, and my friend Henry L. says very commandingly, "You are having Paseo's for lunch." SWEEET, finally!! No argument from me! We waited in the long, cold line and I finally got to have my Paseo's. It was worth the hype! Sooooooo artery-cloggingly fantastic! I had the Cuban Roast, and Henry had the grilled pork (both pictured). I definitely preferred the Cuban Roast over the grilled pork. It was everything I had waited for. Yum!
I think what makes Paseo's so good is the sandwich as a whole package. Individually, it's not amazing. The fresh bread is tasty, but not the best bread in the world. Their daily-made aioli is good, but not great. Their pork is flavorful, but not melt-in-your-mouth or fall-apart-because-it's-so-tender. The grilled onions are fantastic, but they don't steal the show. But put them all together, and you have an awesome sandwich. I can't wait to go back!! In fact, two days later, I grabbed two to-go to bring home for the bf and a friend. ;)
Tips: Call ahead and phone your order in to skip the line (be sure to ask for your corn, or they won't include it in your togo order). Cash only.
Paseo sandwiches are basically perfection: a heaping portion of tender pork and caramelized onions on a crusty baguette slathered with garlicky aiol. Be prepared to wait in line, possibly not get a seat, get really messy and reek of garlic. In other words, probably not a good place for a first date. But a helluva place for a sandwich.
My advice is to get some sandwiches to go, and eat them while enjoying the view from Gasworks Park. Don't forget to grab (A LOT) of napkins.
My girlfriend thought I was just hungry from a long flight from San Diego, but really...the Carribean bowl was on point!! The chicken was so tender...and everything just blended so well together. The chips, rice, chicken, sour cream, jalapenos, cheese, sauce....OMG. So good! its a huge bowl and couldnt finish the whole thing...but I really like it.
Had half of the Midnight Cuban. Damn! I wish i tasted it while it was still hot!!! Sooo good.
Only downfall is they run out of stuff towards the end of the day. :( Other than that..great food..and the guys are in the back seemed pretty friendly. I'll be back again FOR SURE!!!
Everyone in Seattle knows it, so if you live here and haven't been - shame on you. If you are visiting, join the crowd and get thee a Cuban sandwich. But be prepared to eat pork - it's the only way to go. Don't fear the pig. You'll be glad you indulged.
Claustrophobics beware - it's cozy inside.
FINALLY! Finally, I've gotten a chance to get my hands on that Cuban sandwich.
And the results...?
It was definitely no party in my mouth. Maybe like a small get-together in my mouth... But it definitely had the aftermath of a party though -- leaving a big mess afterwards (my sandwich fell apart... caramelized onions here, GREASE there, and pork everywhere!)
But because we waited for about half an hour and all these 5 Stars on Yelp, I was expecting something spectacular, but overall, I was not impressed. Don't get me wrong though -- it's a good sandwich (for extremely fair prices at $7.50 a sandwich), but beware -- it's not what it's all hyped up to be.
Just a terrific restaurant. A must go if you make it into Seattle. Parking sucks - its on the street. MAKE SURE YOU BRING CASH. All in all the food is really good worth the effort!
This place doesn't have a sign, but the line out the door can speak for itself.
I had the shrimp sandwich. It was hella good! I would say that it was a little rich and heavy on the garlic and onions. It's sloppy, messy, greasy - so not a place to take a first date that's for sure.
The corn is also delicious. I'd recommend ordering a side of corn if you have a large appetite as the sandwiches are already a big portion.
The sandwiches are served on these Chinese plates which I thought was kinda funny, but it's memorable...
Definitely worth the calories... = )
I don't know if my expectations were set too high, or if this was an off day, or what... but all I can say about my lunch at Paseo is that it was an A-OK / 3 star sandwich.
I got the Midnight Cuban Press, which was the recommendation I've heard about the most (as well as the Cuban Roast). There was good stuff on the sandwich, but it wasn't as amazing as I had been expecting. Since I took it to go, I didn't get to sample the corn that everyone raves about either, so maybe that made a negative impact on my experience.
And while I'm always open to trying another sandwich and upping the review, I have to say that the thought of waiting in a line out the door for a run of the mill sandwich probably means I won't be back. Which makes me sad, because I was so excited to go there when I woke up this morning.
From all the reviews and stories Ive heard about this place I was really excited, after going there twice I would say it didn't live up to the expectations. Its a good sandwich place but not worth waiting in the long line that they tend to have. The bread doesn't really do it for me and that is important. The big thing is that this place is really close to Royal Grinders and RG is better IMO, less line and better bread. Not a bad place just not amazing.
Nothing I say will do Paseo justice. Every word I type will pale in comparison to what my lunch was like this past Saturday, it is permanently seared in my taste bud memory as one of the most decadently delicious sammiches of my short life.
It was my first time and I got the classic Cuban (craving the prawns next time). What you get:
- Succulent pork with explosions of secret seasoning
- Toasty toasty crunchy long baguettes
- Sauce practically dripping down my arm
- Jalapenos, lettuce and GIANT PIECES OF ONION HEAVEN
- Half a corn on the cob proudly sporting some garlic coat of wonder.
My friend and I didn't speak the whole time, we were too busy concentrating on our Cubans, dying a sweet death with each bite.
Despite its friendly website, I never know when they're open but I do know sandwiches stop serving at 5 pm. Strangely, the same time my life stops if I happen to get there too late.
Cash Only, Long Lines (except when it's pouring rain, only the truly brave want to wait outside in a downpour) and minimal seating. It doesn't have a sign outside & serves sandwiches on plastic Asian plates because it's coo' like that.
sloppy, greasy, delicious sandwiches. I don't think there is much that I can say that hasn't already been said about this place.
YES it is worth a trip to experience.
I will share this bit of advice though: taking these sandwiches to eat at a nearby park in the summer is *not* a good idea. My friend told me that after her first trip... for some reason I ignored her advice and made the same mistake. I spent more time worrying about eating it neatly than I did enjoying it. My 2nd time through we both got the sandwich and ate it there. It was much more enjoyable.
These sandwiches are going to fall apart and you're going to get messy. If you can deal with that and some aoli on your cheek then you're ready for Paseo.
I always get the #2. The pulled pork is spectacular - the meat is rich and perfectly seasoned. The sandwich will make an enormous mess, so grab extra napkins. It is very saucy, and bits of meat and onion will be all over the place, especially if you wind up squatting on the curb because there is no seating available.
I am drooling writing this review.
It seems like whenever I go to Paseo, the line is either all the way out the door, or they are closed. This disappoints me, but it doesn't make me want to go there less.
Bring cash.
oh boy, they are popular... We went there on Halloween and they were BUSY, pack with people inside and many others outside waiting for their order to go.
Frank took me there because all the great review, when we got there, I was a little shock - and it's really small restaurant with no sign for the name (or it's really small that I missed it completely) but the food wasn't disappointing at all. Frank got the Cuban Roast (Pork) Sandwich (with caramelized onion), and I got the West Caribbean Rice Bowl (with beans, 'salsa', chips, and a piece of chicken) which reminded me of a burrito without the flour tortilla. Both of them are delicious, but I wish there are more than 1 piece of chicken in my rice bowl and that they don't pile the chips on top of my rice (we took it to go). Even though they are not so pretty to look at but there's no doubt the food are tasty - flavorful and meats are well seasoned and juicy. This is the kind of food we love, a little homey, rustic, and tons of flavor - will definitely come back to try more.
p.s. Bring your cash, forget about your diet plan, and a little patient is definitely needed :D
I am going to admit that it is sometimes difficult to try something else on a menu if you have found your match. For instance, I have had the #2 Cuban Roast at least seven or eight times. I honestly cannot get myself to try something else because the #2 always satisfies my cravings. So I will have to say that I am a bit biased in my review because everything just revolves around the #2.
Be aware that this sandwich is messy, messy, messy. I always make sure that I am wearing a not-so-nice shirt when I eat here because my shirts tend to get hungry when I eat at Paseo.
Always grab some napkins. I request that they cut it in half, because it makes stuffing my face a little less complicated.
Hubby and I have recently opted to take our sandwiches to-go because there are not that many tables available. Even when there are, it's a small space so it feels like we're packed in like sardines. In addition, the seats are uncomfortable. They probably have them that way to encourage you to eat and go.
I also like to savor my sandwich by eating slowly. That isn't always a good idea, because everyone starts giving you stink eye and hoping that you would just hurry up so that they could have your table.
If you get your order to-go, request your corn to-go as well. I have heard of people not requesting it and so they don't get their corn.
The pork in the sandwich is so moist. The cilantro and jalapenos compliment it nicely. Sometimes I wish that the onions were cooked a bit more and not so crunchy, but everyone has their own opinion.
We like to take ours to-go, bring it home and eat it with tater tots and beer! Totally not Carrribean, I know, but I would say that Paseo is more of an interpretation of Carribean food, so I will continue to enjoy it their way and further interpret it to fit my needs.
Paseo is definitely a Seattle staple. I do hope to one day get over my love affair with the Cuban Roast and try something else but until then, I will enjoy my #2, tater tots, and beer. It just never gets old.
What can I say about the #2 yummmmmmmmmmmmmm.............
don't forget the side of corn on the cob!
there is another fave of mine #8.......the Ham w/peppers....!!!!
This Cuban Press sandwich makes my top 5 sandwich list. As a self proclaimed "Sandwich-Maestro", this is quite the feat!
Yeah, yeah, the line is long, let's stop dwelling on this people. There is a very good reason for this, and anybody who has waited in this line knows what it is. The hardest part about the wait is having to smell that delicious aroma coming out of the stacks and having to wait to feed the hunger.
I went with the best seller, The Cuban Press, figuring I couldn't go wrong, and boy was I right! Everything in the world was right while I ate that sandwich. Everything about it was perfection, from the bread to the onions to the tender pork to the amazing sauce. They better guard the recipe to that sauce, but I really, really wish they would share.
I don't get to Seattle often, but when I do I will always make sure to stop by this place, several times.
Be prepared for the most delicious messy meal you've ever had! My old boss took me here for the first time, we used to work at a store nearby. I took one bite of my sandwich and fell in love.
I always order the #3, Grilled Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich is on a toasted roll, with mayo aioli, a chicken breast with cuban spices, and the most delicious caramelized onions that they actually have a caramelized onion sandwich!
I stop by for a sandwich whenever I am in the area now, but for a while I was going in two or three times a day. If you're driving by and don't see a line, that is a rarity! I always try and call my order in. Even if there is a line, you can skip it and go to the front if you call it in, which is nice because you get your food hot!
Make sure you bring cash and I always try and have baby wipes or moist towelettes in my car when I know I'll be eating there. They have Lysol wipes that are meant to wipe down the tables, but they dry out your hands... And you'll probably need them!
Why is this place so popular? I had their famous roast pork sandwich which has a ton of Mayonnaise on it and it tastes fine. However any pork sandwich with lots of mayonnaise on it will taste pretty good. I don't think it is worth of anything near 5 stars.
I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the Caribbean bowl/plate. It was 1 chicken thigh with lots of rice and all the typical toppings one expects on a plate of Nachos. WTF. There is nothing Caribbean about that.
I will go back and try something else in the event that I managed to hit it on an off day.
Finger Licking Good (adjective) - When something is so deliciously awesome that you have to lick your fingers upon finishing it to get the full extravagance of the taste. [http://urbandictionary...]
Paseo gives new meaning to the term 'finger licking good'. Talk about a delish, MESSY, party in my mouth and mess on my hands!
Notes:
1. Most popular: Cuban Roast (originally named the midnight cuban years ago before Paseo's even had a printed menu) -- pork shoulder with lettuce, big chunks of caramelized onion, mayonnaise aioli, jalapenos, and cilantro all on a crisp baguette that soaks up the deliciousness without getting soggy. This was my FAV.
2. Also popular: Midnight Cuban Press --pork shoulder with mayonnaise aioli, sweet banana peppers, ham and swiss cheese all on a crisp baguette that soaks up the deliciousness without getting soggy.
3. CASH ONLY.
4. Small place. 5 tables. Crowded all times of the day. There was a line and a wait for tables at 2:30 pm.
5. The corn that comes with it....I've never tasted corn so sweet n juicy n flavorful! They *must* have cooked their corn with their meat!
6. WORTH IT. TRY IT.
PS. Service was a little bit less than friendly, but they were busy and grouchy I guess *shrug*.
Okay, I'm not gonna lie to you, dearest Yelpers. The only reason I am writing this review, good ol' #201, is a delightfully sinful mixture of one part pride to two parts bitch. I JUST WANNA BRAG ABOUT EVER BEING TO PASEO!!!
Upon discovering that Paseo seems to be a widely renowned sandwich mecca of sorts, WEEKS after visiting the establishment, how could I not boast of such an experience? Of course as we pulled up in the early evening they were out of lots of things -- most notably, something referred to as the Midnight Cuban. Whatever. I just got off a 2 hour flight and I want food and I want it now. So not only are they out of their specialty, but they only accept cash, AND there is a somewhat long-ish line. Great.
In a blaze of food-inhaling, sauce-smearing, orgasm-inducing glory, my lil bro Fobert and I took down a grilled pork sandwich, a grilled chicken sandwich (both with extra onions, on Fobert's request... I thought, wtf?), a side of black beans and two sodas. Price wasn't too shabby and timing was just right on the to-go orders. But what I will never forget was just the sheer happiness spread all over my fat little face as I ate. Two distinct meats, two very different and very flavorful sauces, two varying combinations of veggie condiments, two excessively happy customers.
The Space Needle? Meh. The Fish Market? Sure. The Music Experience? I guess. Paseo? MUST TRY. Your tummy will thank you and your taste buds will beg you to sleep with them. Again.
I might be a bit late to the party but this place is amazing. I had the pork pressed sandwich and my friend had the scallop sandwich. The pork was awesome, but the thing that made this sandwich for me was possibly the best roasted onions and mayo that I have ever hard in my life. I absolutely ate this sandwich in about 8 bites and almost got another. Sitting at my apartment after having eating subway tonight I am dreaming of this meal again...probably not healthy and a bit weird.
The scallops were also great, not overcooked and...ok I need to get back to the onions. They were that good. Do yourself a favor; go grab a couple of sandwiches, some sodas and go to greenlake and eat these while looking at all the healthy conscious joggers staring at you with envy.
Tender juicy marinated pork, perfectly caramelized onions, jalapeño goodness on a crunchy baguette. What could be better? I found this place on a whim while traveling in Seattle. Small and discrete but explosive in flavors! This was one of those sandwich places that i would eat on a regular basis if it weren't in another state! The guys working there were great and the Cuban roast is a must try!
I think most of the reviews on here about sum it up. No seating, long waits, cash only..... and one of the best sandwiches you have ever had. Just make sure to grab extra napkins!!
I live about three blocks from here and only the threat of obesity and the sometimes long wait keep me from eating lunch here every day.
I highly recommend the fish or scallop sandwich and make sure to ask for 4-5 stars of spicy for that extra kick. You dont need any side, the sandwich will be more than enough to fill all but the most cavernous of bellies.
A few warnings/tips:
The line can be long between noon and two. Bring a Mojito to sip on. (Rum, lime, crushed mint, ice)
They only take cash
The Line can be long...so dont be that guy that didnt bring cash and didnt read the sign and then has to go to the back of the line while being a dick to the staff.
Drinks are 1.50 for a can of coke...bring your own drink (see Mojito recommendation above)
After reading all these rave reviews on Yelp, the boyfriend and I finally decided to give Paseo a try, and am I glad we did!
This is your true 'hole in the wall' eatery, down to the fact that there is no sign or hint of the goodness within except for the line out the door and the girl who reassured us that the food here was awesome. I was surprised to discover that the restaurant was more like a cafeteria with maybe four tiny tables pushed up against a wall, so we ordered our food to go, and the smell (oh, my god- so amazing) tantalized us for a ten minute drive home.
The sandwiches were ENORMOUS. I got the Cuban Roast and my boyfriend got the grilled chicken breast, and for us, it's a good sign when we realize we haven't said a word for about ten minutes because we're enjoying our food so much.
I would recommend calling ahead to try and save on the wait, though the line did move really quickly. If you're claustrophobic, maybe see if you can talk a friend into picking up the order for you, it's super cramped in there.
I've been wanting to try this place ever since discovering Yelp.
After a night in Seattle involving copious amounts of alcohol, I could think of nothing else from the time I rose until the time they swung the door open at 11. It smelled delcious. They only accept cash. They were out of Coke. I ordered 4 of the Cuban Roast sandwiches, 2 to eat on the spot with my friend and 2 to take home to the baby daddys as thanks for their part in enabling us to have a girls' night out.
I was a little fearful that my long awaited expectations couldn't possibly be met but they were. Easily. The cilantro was a surprise flavor element that I didn't expect or remember reading about. And maybe I'm just a talented eater but it wasn't THAT messy.
What it was was JUST what I needed. My mouth was still singing miles down I-5 and I felt a little embarassed every time I smelled my hands because they still had the essence of that heavenly sandwich on them. I can't wait to have another one.
Paseo rules.. I have been to the one in Fremont and the one by the beach in Ballard. Both are consistent and absolutely fantastic.
When I think of Seattle, I sure don't think of Cuban food..
The atmosphere of Fremont is very quaint and cozy.. the one is Ballard is more of a large, stationary taco truck .. which is one of my favorite things ever! :D
The sandwiches are great and pretty sizable..
If the plan is to get a sandwich and bring it to the beach.. a word of caution.. Bring a bib! I think we both left the beach covered in sauce..
Hours are a bit funky and they tend to run of out sandwiches throughout the course of the evening.. but its worth getting something else on the menu to experiment..
Watch the demeanor of the guy who runs the place.. he will nonchalantly tell you they are closed or have none of anything you are looking for.. its pretty funny!
Hands down, the best sandwiches in Seattle. I love pork. I love pork sandwiches. And I love Paseo. For some insane reason I've only been here once. And It is this one experience that I now compare all other sandwich shops to. For that reason, I shall never give another sandwich place 5 stars.
In this case, the wisdom of the crowd is incredibly accurate. Go here or you'll never taste the best. Do it now!
It can get kind of crowded, so get there early and prepare to wait in line. And don't be one of those idiots that gets annoyed by lines. I've warned you so you have no reason to now expect otherwise. Also, bring cash. They don't want your plastic.
Pretty darn good delicious sandwiches. I personally find their food a little greasy and sloppy, but it hits the spot if that's what you are going for. I suggest the midnight cuban, by far the best sandwich if you ask me. Very limited seating, but to go is always a fabulous option. Definitely gotta try this one and decide for yourselves. Thanks for reading.
Preface: 3.5 stars.
Maybe I had unhealthy, high expectations after reading all the glowing reviews here and comparisons to orgasms. Had the cuban roast sandwich. It was pretty good. The bread was nice and toasty, the meat very succulent, the grilled onion nice (but not living up to the hype, because, it's pretty difficult, if not impossible, to mess up grilled onions!), and the corn delicious. I was going to give it 4 stars, but can't say that "Yay, I'm a fan!" If I lived nearby, I would probably frequent it again, but also, it's not the cheapest thing, especially considering how dirty the place is, and I would only ever consider take-out if I were to go again. Sorry, to all the fans. I really wanted to love it.
The pork shoulder here is absolutely ridiculous. You know something is darn good when a piece of it falls on the table and you hardly hesitate before picking it up and savoring every last morsel in your mouth.
The #2 is where it is at. The grilled onion, jalapenos and aioli layered on top of the meat made the perfect inside to this masterpiece sandwich! The bread was crunchy and delicious. The sandwich is VERY messy though, so be ready to get down and dirty with it. Oh, and order the rice and beans on the side in addition to the corn on the cob side that comes with all sandwiches. You can't go wrong there.
Very friendly staff! Long line and cash only, but worth the wait!
OMG! I can't even handle the deliciousness!!!!! Is that a word? Well, it is now! Juicy, tender pork mixes with cilantro, jalapeno peppers and carmalized onion inside a crusty baguette. Not first date food by any means (super messy), but worth the wait. You will be talking about this sandwich for days on end.
I was eager to try this little sandwich shack in light of all the rave reviews on Yelp. The first time I attempted to try it, I was greeted with a note that read "Sold out of ALL sandwiches - the Ballard location *might* still have some." That bummed me out, but there was no way in hell I was going to go to Ballard (I was too tired). Lesson here: make sure you go right when they open.
So, I went back a few weeks later (at 11:30 am, this time) and ordered the spicy pork sandwich ($8.25). Yes, the meat was tender and yes it was drenched in mayonnaise, thus it was delicious.
There was quite a long wait to order. It's standard for there to be a line jutting generously out the door, so don't expect it to be a grab-and-go type of affair.
Also, make sure you bring cash - no credit card are accepted.
Paseo needs another review about as much as I need another pork-and-mayo-laden grease-bomb in my already over-sized beer-gut (and about as much as this sentence needs another hyphen).
That's not going to stop me, however, from gushing my 5-star review all over this little Cuban sandwich stand like the pile of pork, peppers and onions that gushed out of the other end of my Midnight Press when I first bit into that greasy fucker.
Yeah, these sandwiches are good. Or to be exact, the one, famous, porkilicious, greasetastic, mayoriffic, oniontacular Midnight Cuban Press is good. It's 2 types of pork, cheese, onions, peppers and mayo slammed inside a too-hard sandwich roll and pressed, then wrapped tight in paper that you'd be a fool (like me) to unwrap, lest you find yourself with a pile of the aforementioned ingredients in your lap.
Get ready for a greased up orgy of flavor in your mouth so hot and messy you'll need a shower afterward. Dive in, but not too hard, or the too-hard bread will hit back. Gnaw in and taste the amazingly well-balanced myriad of flavors as the porcine missile attacks your tastebuds. Oooh and ahhh over the salty porky cheesy greasy sweetness.
Then eat the little half-corn that comes on the side. It's good too.
For this adventure, you'll need the following:
CASH
lots of nakkins
possibly a bib
a wet nap if you have one
a trip to the bathroom afterward to wash up
some form of exercise to work off the 2,000 calories of deliciousness that just penetrated your heretofore virgin pie-hole.
Not the best sandwich I've ever had. Not even close. But damn fucking good, and well deserving of the hype. Plan for lines and a small area to eat. Better taken to-go.
I'm glad we don't have one of these in Portland or I'd be eating this shiz way too often.
To summarize Paseo, a haiku.
Decisions:
Chicken thighs or pork
Paseo, why the torture
I guess I'll have both
I woke up this morning hungover from a night of drinking with a friend, it's 6:51a, I've not had coffee, and the only thing I could think of was writing this review about Paseo. Oh my gosh...have these people done it!
Read the other reviews: awesome toasted bread that is both perfectly crunchy and delightfully soft -- CHECK! Savory, well-flavored meats and fillings with a great depth of flavor (I had both the Cuban Roast and the chicken thighs) -- CHECK! Carmelized onions and pickled jalapenos, neither too hot or too firey, but both adding to the complexity of flavor -- CHECK! Delicious and creamy aioli which lacked just a bit of cilantro but ultimately held the sandwich together -- CHECK!
I hate waiting in line. I would wait in line for one of these sandwiches if the wait were an hour and I had only 15 minutes to live...just on the chance they might get to me. For $7.50, you get a filling sandwich that's anything but Seattypical.
I don't think there's really anything else I could say about Paseo and its famous Cuban Roast that hasn't already been said. It really lives up to its prestige. I was completely having a foodgasm (or seeing Jesus, same thing) with every single bite. Straight up, if I was having some life-harrowing experience and had to pick my last meal, it would be indulging in 987234897234 cuban roasts.
If the owners and chefs are reading this, I would like you to know that I think your cuban roast and existence to the world is more important than some people's kids LOL.
It's been more than a year since I last had a Paseo sandwich and I can still recall my amazement every time I'd bite into one of their many amazingly delicious sammies.
Sure, if you're a first-timer, you've gotta start with one of the Cubans. You'll feel so good, yet so bad for eating it.. and you. will. love. every. bite. End of story. But also, not to be missed are the Hamon & Queso Melt, the Sauteed Prawns (ordered spicy) and the Smokin' Thighs sandwich. Paseo has tons of other miscellaneous tasty, tasty options. I trust everything they do; I've yet to be let down.
I used to live a few blocks away and was a regular take-out orderer. The place is small and gets packed very quickly, so I recommend taking your meal elsewhere if you're able. I can't wait to get back there next week when I'm back home. I only have a few days to eat my way through Seattle again and Paseo is sure to happen. Yum yum in my tum!
