finally!! honest mechanics! i kid you not.
so i went there 2 weeks ago to check out why my engine light was on, and i can't move on with my life until i share the news that these guys are totally awesome:
1. they were up front, they won't try to upsell you or pile on a bunch of things you don't need to have fixed right away. aaron, one of the owners, separated what i had to fix now and what i could fix later.
2. when i didn't know whether to take my car to a dealer or have these guys look at it, owen, one of the owners, didn't bad-mouth dealers. instead he gave me a breakdown of his credentials and their success in diagnosing engine trouble. in my experience as a woman, when a bad mechanic smells fear and doubt, he usually jumps at that opportunity and tries to scare you into buying what he's selling.
3. aaron called when he said he would call. seems simple enough, but so many mechanics (and service providers for that matter) fail at this.
4. they specialize in fixing high end cars, but i have a saturn and still got high end service.
5. one of the owners drove me to the metro station, this blew me away!
6. when i got the bill, it was the same amount they told me over the phone. seriously, the angels were singing.
7. bathroom was clean. maybe it was because this place was a brand new garage, but this means alot to a germaphobe like me. also, it further demonstrated how much they care about their business.
8. homemade cupcakes in the lobby baked by the owners' aunt or something. nice touch.
9. they fixed my car a lot faster than expected. i brought my car in without an appointment, they were booked up that day, and i didn't expect them to even begin looking at it until the next morning. but i got a phone call from aaron on the same day i brought my car in and they were able to diagnose and fix the car that day.
i hope these brothers stay in business a long time. i just referred my sister to these guys, and going to refer everyone i know them. i cannot recommend them highly enough. they totally make having to deal with car trouble bearable and affordable. -

Very honest people. I went to the dealership and they recommended the full service in the manual costing me nearly $1000 service. I brought it here and they said all I really needed was an oil change. Later Jaguar suggested all I needed was a oil change too, almost by accident when talking to them for a little bit, naturally youll slip what the actual truth is kind of thing.
Pasadena Motor Cars did the entire inspection from the manual plus oil change for a third of the price quoted from Jag. I even checked if the oil they used was as high quality and the same as the dealerships and its even higher quality. Thumbs up and they win over my business for all non warrenty service for my beloved sexy Jaguar. :) -

Well, if u look at most of my reviews you'll see that i rarely give anyone 5 stars unless they're worthy and This place had definitely earned it...
Yesterday my SLK 320 wouldn 't start. I was so worry that it would cost a fortune to fix since it's a Mercedez and the dealer will rip my pocket into pieces on all the charges... well, a good friend of mine recommended this place because they're honest and cheaper than the dealer. They even send me the link on Yelp so i looked it thru and WOW!! i was amazed to see that they got 5 stars review !! so... i decided to call... 8 am monday morning Aron picked up the phone. I told him my situation. When i tried to start my car it made a clicking noise from the hood , it won 't start and my dashboard said start error which scared the crap outta me... i don 't know if it's a battery or the starter but whatever that is it sound costly and i would also needed a tow. I was surprised he offered to come to where i was immediately, it took him only 15 minutes to get to my house... ( with no Charge ) he jump started my car and it started right away it turned out that all i needed was to replace a battery... Honestly i was so relieved that it's not a starter or engine problem that would cost a fortune... just battery problem .. Phew!
For a person a with no AAA this is totally a LIFESAVER !!!!
I'm thankful he was honest and straight forward unlike the dealership who always try to scam your money. I would highly recommend this place to anyone because i understand car problem can be very stressful. You need someone reliable and trustable and most of all ( cheap & honest ) The service was fantastic !!!
He didn 't charge me to come and jump started my car at my house but He quoted me the price on a new battery which is a good deal.. Thank you Arron you saved me today now i can go on with my hectic schedule. wow... i'm so relieved !!
Oh and another advice for you luxury folks ( coming from a person who owned Mercedez for 9 years , BMW for 4 years ,Audi 3 years) don 't buy a Mercedez unless your wallet is huge. It 's not the cost of the car that 's matter much it's actually the cost of maintenance in a long run. It cost way too much on parts and services, you're just better off leasing it or settle for Honda, Toyota, etc... Consider this, You can have 3 brand new reliable Toyota Camry for a price of one mercedez SLK in 9 years... I think i learned my lesson my next car would definitely be something more practical yet luxury. I still don 't know what that is yet but i know it's out there :D -

Quite simply, these guys are the best.
- They know their stuff. I've been here several times, and they've always been able to diagnose the issue within 10-15 minutes, and then actually SHOW me what is broken/rubbing/leaking/etc.
- All too often if you go to a less reputable place, they will want to replace much more than is necessary. If you want to do that, then these guys certainly will, but they always offer the lowest cost solution that will get you back on the road quickly and safely. -

I rarely write reviews, but Pasadena Motor Cars is great! Owen and Aaron are honest, up-front and go above-and-beyond for their customers.
I went in for a problem with my Jaguar that kept disappearing and they listened patiently and went to work to find the problem - they even dropped me back at home while they did the diagnostic.
When Owen called to explain what was causing the problem, he also told me that there was an obscure dealer warranty on the part. Before calling me, he had contacted Rusnak, run my VIN number, confirmed that the work would be covered under the warranty (with 2 days to spare before expiration!), established that Rusnak had the part in stock and could complete the project that day! I picked up my car from Pasadena Motor Cars and took it to Rusnak for the warranty work.
Less reputable places would never have let me know that this would be covered at the dealer and would have charged me to fix the $1200 issue. I am a customer for life and would highly recommend Pasadena Motor Cars to anyone looking for a qualified, honest, independent shop to maintain their vehicles! -

I recently bought a used Jaguar and was looking for a good independent Jaguar mechanic. Based on Yelp, I went to Pasadena Motor Works for their free inspection.
They are very knowledgeable about British cars -- one of the brothers worked at a Jaguar/Range Rover dealership as a mechanic. They are very courteous, and helpful. I had some issues that needed to addressed and I wanted them to fix it, but under my specific factory extended warranty, I had to go to a dealer :-( They gave me a contact and the list of the problems that they found, so that I can get them fixed. What honesty! What service. So this time I only had an oil change done (it was quick and at a great price), but I'll be bringing my car here again for any future needs.
These guys are a real deal. -

I am the queen of beater car breakdowns, so I am used to the usual "little lady" treatment, being talked down to, jerks trying to rip me off, etc.
Totally out of character, I just I bought a used 2009 MBZ E350. The price was so good I was dreading "bad news". I was also dreading bringing it to the dealer for service (i.e. having the dealer vacuum out my wallet).
A friend suggested I bring it here for an inspection, just to get some reassurance that the car won't explode. They didn't even charge!
No bad news! Better still, they were so awesome that I will be bringing my car here from now on. No question!
Its a bit like spotting a unicorn when one finds these places, isn't it? -

Don't take my word for it. Just go and talk to these guys. See their shop for yourself. Father son team who really know their stuff. They inspected a Jaguar that I am considering buying for free. Put it on a lift and educated me about what they look for and why. What breaks and what it costs. What you can afford to skimp on and what you shouldn't. But I'll say it again. Check them out for yourself. You'll be glad you did. They work on most luxury car brands.

I recently took my Lexus into the main dealer for a service. During the service, the dealer informed me that I needed new front brake pads and rotors. The price they quote was extremely high ($665). I decided to shop around and see if I could find a better offer, but still maintaining good service with quality parts. I tried the usual "fast food" slew of garages (Midas etc), but wasn't impressed with the poor quality components they used. Plus I didn't want an 18 year old working on my car.
I did a search on the net and came across these guys. The good reviews they received on Yelp definitely helped me choose them. I called up the garage and the staff were extremely helpful. They informed me that they used OEM parts, and not components that would fail after 6 months or so.
I found the workshop to be extremely clean and organized, the staff (family company) extremely helpful. It was nice to see that the mechanic actually had a love for cars, and this wasn't "just a job" for him. He really took his time on my car to make sure everything was done correctly first time round. The price was great too, $470 for genuine OEM parts.
I would say give these guys a try and you won't be disappointed. I know where I will be taking my car next time for a service. -

I hold this shop in my highest regard. Excellent service, very personable, and honest mechanics. I had my clutch replaced by Owen, he gave me the best price and had it done in 2 days. I will definitely be taking my precious baby (Acura RSX-S) back to them again. Keep up the great work guys!!

S0000 tired of dealer prices but feeling clueless as too where to go. I originally approachd a closer garage, but immediately felt unwelcomed. I headed to this garage when i spotted their ad. They fixed my headlights on the spot without charging labor, on a later appt, they inspected the car and explained that the work the dealer wanted to do was not really that serious and could wait, (saving me two thou.) and xplaind in nonthreatening simple terms what i can xpect from my car. the mechanic is a former dealer mechanic, so he knows his stuff. very straigt-forward and honest. fair priced.my car is over 100k but I now finally feel like i can own my car for many year to come without stress and worry.

I'm visiting from out of state and came to PMC based on the Yelp reviews to get some vital service on my Jaguar XJR. This place is everything the other reviewers have said. Amazingly helpful and the technical expertise and depth is top-notch. This is more than a business--it's a small family owned organization where passion for what they do shines through. I would drive a long way to have PMC work on my car again. If there were a ten-star rating I would give it to them!!! Honest and awesome. As good as it gets.

This is by far the best mechanic I've gone to, and the cleanest. I have a BMW 330i and have had problems here and there but they have the answers. So far my car runs great! They really know their cars and give me suggestions on maintenance so that I don't have to keep coming back and therefore making it less expensive in the long run. Great job guys and thanks!

I'm willing to say these guys treated me more than fairly (especially on parts), and were also more than competent. I wish them further success: It is a CLEAN, well maintained shop. Also included was a short free "taxi-ride" which I might ad really helped make my day much better.
Ultimately what this customer wants is excellent work coupled with good customer service (bed-side manner, if you will). Hey, I got that, and speed to boot! Thumbs up!
Thanks, guys, for not gouging me, and in fact being really fair (sad we have to say that in this world) and of course fixing up my Volvo! I hope to stay a customer. -

Repair service is honest and quick! This family business really cares about their customers and takes time to explain what is happening with my vehicle and how much it will cost to fix! Did I mention honest? Very nice to have in Pasadena!
