OK, first of all, FREE!!! Free parking, Free admission...and there isn't much anything better than a way to spend 3 hours in LA without having to spend a cent!
So, here are the pro's: It;s FREE and it's HUGE...we are talking 2-3 hours of wandering to scout out the entire place. There is a whole lot of interesting stuff to look at and, of course, a whole lot of interesting people to watch. AND, if you are looking for something in particular, and are willing to pay above swap meet prices, you are bound to find it here...case in point, I found a decently worn in pair of cherry red Doc Martens for $40 bucks today...$70 less than buying them new and I don't have to go through the horrid process of breaking them in myself (and I HATE wearing new looking shoes!). I also scored an entire box of 50's era photo slides taken in Hawaii for $20...a great score for me because i have a semi secret project that requires vintage slides ;)
Cons: I blame it on all these damn Pawn Stars, Auction Hunters, American Pickers, Antique Roadshow television shows (smash your TV people!), but there is seems to be no treasure hunting at flea markets anymore. I;m semi-young, but I remember the days of the scores of cardboard boxes that you had to sift through to find your treasure...and get it for a song. These days it seems that people are attempting to make their fortune off of selling old stuff...an 80's polo style shirt for $15 that, if I spent enough time looking, I could find at a thrift store for $2. A masonic lodge ring for $120...I liked it...and would have paid $30 for it...but damn, I know how many old masons there are out there, and there certainly isn't a shortage of these things!
All in all, it's a great free day out, wandering, exploring, reminicing, and hopefully scoring something amazing that you will treasure for a LONG time!
Oh, and for the record, it's the first sunday of ever month (the rose bowl is the second sunday, so you can spend half the weekends of your month buying crazy antiques!)Listed in: FREE LA

I am such a huge fan of flea markets, why o why did this have to be such a huge disappointment? Why? I had been planning to visit this flea for months now. Even with the temperature outside blazing I was ready to take this place on. Whenever I shop, it is rare, let me repeat that, RARE, when I don't find/buy something. There was not one single thing that I wanted to buy. NOT ONE :(
Cons-
no radical jewls
no radical food
no radical anything

Wow... overwhelming, much??
I'm a Melrose Trading Post regular, and even that's a little too big for me to handle. I'm not experienced enough with flea markets, I tend to just walk through the aisles waiting for something to catch my attention. This is SO not the way to shop a flea market! I'm working on it.
The PCC Flea Market is easily five times the size of MTP. I spent about 2 hours walking around to check out the whole thing but, like I said, that was how long it took me to just walk around and casually glance into stands. There's very little "junk" here, as far as weird non-vintage toys and weird stuff that looks like it was pulled out of a dumpster. It's there, but in the minority. Not a ton of furniture, which is typical. Hubby bought a couple of beakers for a few dollars, and that's all we got.
I really wish there were more book vendors as that's my fave antique find. -

If you're a meticulous and thrifty shopper beware: expect to spend the WHOLE day here. There are simply too many vendors to go through! In addition to the outdoor vendors, there are three floors of the most random treasures hidden within the parking structure.
I can't resist a good rummaging in boxes of junky crap to find unique knick-knacks. The bf purchased two old school drills and a staple gun from back in the 40's (or close to that.)
TIP: If you're really eying something early in the day, but find that the price is a bit much for your wallet, try coming back toward the end of the day-- if it's still there, vendors usually give in to a lower price. (E.g. An hour after opening, I came across an uniquely patterned chess set. Seller asked for $20, then lowered to $15 stating that it's "handmade." I came back toward the afternoon, and I nabbed it for $10.)
I've only recently gotten into the swing of regular flea market shopping, and so far PCC is a winner! Can't beat free admission, and vendors who are generally willing to negotiate!Listed in: My Default Spots PWNED Yours

So much stuff you can find here but I go for the records. This is the main place I find my vinyl. There are probably 30 to 40 vendors and you can always find good stuff. Even if you don't have much dough you can find some gems for a buck each at least. Also you can bargain and usually have a good chance of them dropping the price for you.
You can find all kinds of other things as well like antiques, vintage clothes, books, furniture and all kinds of stuff.
This is my favorite spot for digging in all of Los Angeles straight up. -

It's not as big as the Rose Bowl flea market but it has a nice selection..
True the dealers tend to be a tad more over priced.. I can't really even blame the economy for the dealers being over priced because years ago when I first started coming here I always thought that they were a little over priced...... But I always seem to find the good deals... This time around I found a complete Bakelite culinary set.. (forks, spoons, knives) $40 dollars... A steal in my book!!
This flea market happens every 1st Sunday of the month.
2nd Sunday of the month is the Rose Bowl flea market.
3rd Sunday of the month is the Long Beach flea market.Listed in: I love vintage good spots both…

Look Ma, no fleas!
Checked this market out yesterday for the first time in a few years and it has definitely changed up a bit. Muuuuch larger than it used to be, but with that came the reminder sometimes, bigger isn't always better. The variety of stuff didn't really seem to hit the mark as it had in past years. The vintage clothes seemed pretty slim and most of the stands we sauntered by looked to be carrying more crap than cool.
It was also Africa hot yesterday, so my let's get in there and go senses were a bit defeated, but on the whole, just seemed pretty average and I only left with one thing: A vintage grillin' cookbook that was pretty sweet, I must say.
Oh and there are quite a few vinyl dealers here that seemed to have a nice variety of stuff. You will find them located on the much cooler parking garage floors instead of baking out in the heat. Smart thinkin!Listed in: Los Angeles Vintage, Los Angeles Vinyl, Pasadena Vintage

The parking garage is the best thing about the flea market... who wants to be digging through the crates in the oppressive Pasadena sun? That'd be awful.
My weirdest experience was buying from the wife of a famous underground Detroit rock star and her little kid. They were working a music fundraiser for their school, and I was able to accrue an entire famous Japanese fashion label punk rock wardrobe for $20, pretty much as much as I could walk away with, as long as I promised not to sell the stuff on eBay.
This stuff's still incredible, and now I can strut around the streets like the trainwreck art school daughter of any high-powered Toyota executive without going to Japan and spending $10,000 in Harajuku.
This is one of those gems that shouldn't be in a notoriously uptight place like Pasadena. It's like finding Priscilla Queen of the Desert in Kansas. I hope this flea market doesn't get played out.Listed in: Los Angeles, Hedonism!

This is for all you record digging DJs and hobbyists. If you don't know by now, you are seriously missing out on some gems here. Specifically for the DJs, here is the link for the record swap info: http://www.pasadena.ed...
Pack up your old school portable record player and some comfortable headphones. Don't bring the girlfriend. And if you do, tell her to bring her own friends because she won't be seeing you for the next few hours.
There is one particular vendor (looks like Tony Shaloub...almost) there that seemed to have struck the hip hop mother lode. You can find a good share of first presses there and some hard to find goodies. I was on a mission to get me some EPMD and Slick Rick vinyls and scored big time. Unfortunately, the owner seems to know what they're worth or he just likes to price them high. If you do buy a lot, he's willing to strike you a deal but he'll point out which records he'll only sell to you at full price.
If ebay has let you down, then look for the PCC flea market as a hopeful new haven.Listed in: The Vinyl Graveyard

Love this place it has a mix of everything from Record sellers, misc vintage items, book sellers etc.
The price is great it's free so it already got one up on the Rose bowl flea market. Just 2 bucks for parking if you get up early enough you can find parking on the hill side. You will walk but if you are cheap then you will save yourself 2 bucks.
The better part of the flea market is that it is partially in the parking structure so in the summer you have some shade. The other half is outdoors on both sides of the parking structure. They also have food for sale in case you get up to early that you did not catch some breakfast.
The only real complaint I have is some of the vendors do get cocky on some of the items they sell. I have a good example I collect zippos and if someone has a zippo they assume it is automatically worth 20 off the bat as a starting price. Luckily I do know how to look for zippo and what to look for to see its real value. Someone was trying to sell a zippo that was about 3 years old and used heavily they wanted 20 I knew it was worth less. They did not want to negotiate the price so I just walked away. If it was unused I would have given them 20 but it was.
Anyway overall this place is great even if you don't buy a thing. It is a great place to just kill an early Sunday morning. -
Review from Javier J.
They say that there's only two things certain in life: Death and Taxes. You can add to the list the PCC flea market on the first Saturday of the month.
To be perfectly honest with you, I like this one a whole lot more than the Rose Bowl one. Why? Because you're not fooling yourself into thinking you're getting a bargain with the $8 cover charge at Rose Bowl. Here you know, it's free and well, you're going to find good stuff, but of course you're going to have to pay.
There's one area that is always a bargain and has been something of my youth. The record/music section here. Think of Amoeba records outdoor under the tents. Vendors selling promo and full length cds and records for very low prices.
Though, I have to say that I miss the record section of my youth. Back then it was held in the little service road under the other parking lots. It looks almost like an Arabic bazaar in how it was handled. I'm pretty sure that thieves would get their hands cut off. But again, when you could buy a full album for about 6 bucks when the stores around the area would sell it for $15-17, then you know where you were spending your money at.
But since then they have treated the record area like some red headed step child. Tossing it around from the different parking lots and really causing it to lose some of what it once had.
And what is up with the parking structure? Seriously.. isn't the whole point of going out on a Sunday morning antique shopping is to get some sun and see some interesting things? In a parking structure you're not going to be seeing as much with florescent lights. Those never make anything look good.
Part of the magic was lost with all the improvements that they did on the school. I have to admit to that. If I could, I would give the Flea market of fifteen years ago a solid five. The one of today I would give a three. So there's the balance in the middle. -

Cool and not a bad way to spend a morning. There's a lotta interesting stuff here, but also a lotta stuff that's pretty useless. But you know what they say about someone's junk being another person's treasure.
I mostly went to look at jewelery kuz cool jewelery is something I'm always shopping for. I thought it was kinda pricey. The cost of vintage perhaps? Found a lotta clip on earrings, too. I think I'll come again and see if it gets better. -

The best part about this flea market is that it's huge. You can get lost for hours looking at all the random goodies. Down side - it's a little pricey for a flea market, in my opinion. I scout the place for records, which I've found some great deals, but you gotta dig...although that's part of the fun! I think a lot of the "antiques" are very over-priced. I'm sure people are willing to bargain and I would definitely do that - never settle for the asking price.
Some of the highlights for me are the used book tables and the spot with cute, inexpensive greeting cards.
The layout is a little confusing...it's spread over many parts of the parking lot and apparently the parking garage (didn't know that and I've been many times, oops). It gets super hot sometimes so it's probably best to catch it earlier in the day.
They have it the first Sunday of every month. Good luck with parking. It's definitely worth going at least once. -

Lots and lots of junk. This stuff is old and used and I don't know why vendors overprice these things they found in their grandma's attic... So why bother coming here? Here are four reasons (one star each):
-- It's free. Unlike the Rose Bowl swap meet.
-- For practice. Once a month I can practice steely resolve not to buy any more junk thereby feeling morally superior in my anti-consumerist ways. But then again I also get to practice good taste and a fine eye for antique steals -- you know just in case I want to buy anything.
-- For warmth & sunshine. I fully embrace the fact that sometimes I want to be outdoors but do not necessarily want to be outdoorsy.
-- Location, location, location. Conveniently located on the way to one of my favorites, Din Tai Fung, as well as lots of brunch spots still to be explored in Pasadena... Being cheap, clutter-free, and tan can work up an appetite. -

I love this place...I've been coming her for almost 4 years and everytime I have gone, I have come up on some classic one of a kind jewelry, and I never miss the record swap. Since my boyfriend and I have the same taste in music we go here together. The beautiful thing about it is we dig for records together and after we go around and find antique items that might be good for the house or just rare colletibles that maybe we don't need but love to have....It's a nice little sunday getaway...If you love walking, the outdoor, and the sight of records.....it's a MUST that you experience this!!

A good sized flea market. Prefer going here in the summer time instead of the rosebowl because the parking structure holds the majority of the vendors and it is protected from the sun. Great for buying decorations an other smalls. Not very many selection of furniture though. Free to get in. If you park at the parking lot, it's only $2 all day.

Los Angeles, CA
We woke up bright and early -- with the benefit of daylight savings time ending -- to get here before too late in the day. Parking costs $2 and is relatively easy. There are food stands serving food throughout the day -- like hot dogs -- but in the morning, you can get a decent breakfast burrito on your way in for $3. Once we ate breakfast and downed our coffees -- no cream, just powdered creamer -- we waded into the flea market.
There are basically three selling areas: two outside lots and inside the parking structure. Most of the vendors sell collectibles and antiques, with an emphasis on paper ephemera (lots of postcard vendors, some comic books and old magazines -- saw some issues of True). But there's an even more active record vendor presence.
The record sellers specialize in vinyl, but some have CDs and tapes -- even saw one fella selling heavy metal tapes or two cents a pop! -- and DVDs. Good if you're a record collector. We saw someone wheeling around a cart of the current issue of Record Collector to make sure the word was being spread.
We, however, were in the market for furniture, of which there isn't a ton. We got a cool, solid wood end table for $25, but didn't find what we were really looking for: a couch. Regardless, you have to be ready to cart away what you buy -- there's no deiivery, and there's no side line business of others waiting to cart your stuff away for you.

I am so pleased to announce Pasadena Flea Market as my 100th review!
When: 1st Sunday of the month
Time: Early (not sure exactly when) - 3:00pm
Entrance fee: NOT!
Parking fee: $2
Attention to all sun haters - most of the vendors are in the covered parking structure so you avoid the sun or (very rarely) the rain.
I usually go to Melrose Trading Post, which I think kinda sucks, plus you have to pay $2 to get in and you have to get there early or you can't find parking.
I came here today to find treasures and items I didn't know how I ever lived without and to browse and wished I brought more money and in turn wished I made more money... and on and on and on. We were able to find parking on Meredith right across the street, so that was a huge plus. Judging from the stands outside when we first walked in I was disappointed and thought "not great."
But then we walked in to the parking structure area and suddenly everything sparkled and shined! There were many great vintage clothing stands - prices decent - (i.e. I got a sweater for $10) but there were girls there who seemed to squeeze every cute dress and item from the store and I saw them haggling with the owners for a lower price. We also saw tons of jewelry, furniture, books, knick knacks, vintage plates & silverware, old postcards, tons of records, and of course a lot of other useless junk but so interesting to look at!
The only bad thing was that it was slow today so vendors started breaking down early - around 1:30pm so I felt so rushed to hurry up and look around because I didn't want to miss anything! I saw a store that I am absolutely going to have to back to next month. She sold vintage authentic bags for a very good price. The other bad thing about this place is that there aren't a lot of places to get a drink/grab a snack. My cousin and I were so hungry we had to take a break and go eat and when we came back, vendors started packing up... boo! Bottom line: I love PCC flea market!Listed in: Vintage is the New Green

Had a great experience at the PCC Flea Market this past weekend. It's a nice space and mix of indoor (parking garage) and outdoor (parking lot) flea hunting. The crowd is great, lots of families, dogs and nice people. No cost to get in and nearby bathrooms, they serve breakfast and there's also a Starbucks across the street etc.

Let me start by saying that I'm not much of a flea market expert. However, as I enter my mid thirties I'm finding that I have such interests in spending my weekend afternoons perusing through stuff I have no intention of buying. I'm practicing for my 50s... and trying to rebound from my 20s..
And this place is just the ticket... it was obvious that most people there were just trying to spend a nice afternoon outside in the sun. To give you an idea, I got the impression that most of the vendors were junk collectors, live out of their car and travel the country collecting more junk and selling junk to make space for more junk... or pay for gas.
Vendors were packed into the PCC parking structure... and all I could remember was how the whole structure smelled like old shoes or wet socks.. -

I look forward to this flea market every month. It 's walking distance from my condo and it's Free!!! What better to spend a nice sunny day then walking around looking for stuff. I bought a nice street sign here. One can find a lot of old vinyl records inside the parking structure. Beware of the small dogs that people walk or hold. They look friendly but don't pet them they bite. I learned the hard way.

The tamales sold by one of the on-campus club are wonderful! I love the pork tamales! The cheese tamales are really fiery. Don't confuse these tamales with the poor imitations sold at the food stands. Look for them in the in the lot at Colorado Blvd and Bonnie. I wish PCC sold Coke products because I don't like Pepsi, but there's always Carls, Burger King and Jack-in-the-Box across the street. They all sell Coke products.
Most of the PCC vendors also do the Rose Bowl and Long Beach, so they know what pricing they need to sell. And most will bargain. Of course, there are always the idiots whose prices are already too high and they say they could sell it for more on E-Bay. So let them take their merchandise home and try....
Buy a parking pass. It's only $2. Leave it on your dashboard while you're shopping and then give it to someone else who's just arriving when you leave...the ultimate in recycling! -

hopefully HELPFUL TIP: must pay for $2 parking at the self-pay kiosks! (read more below)
this market had a lot of great sellers and variety of things to buy. things were decently priced, i walked away with some goods.
like all the other reviews say: there are vendors inside the parking structure (which i guess on a sunny day is nice but its kind of dark) and there are vendors outside. i thought the layout was kind of confusing. i wasnt really sure where to start or if i was missing some sellers.
NOTE: parking is $2 or $3 in the structure, and you pay for it at the pay station. there aren't any attendants to take your money - i assumed we'd pay when we exited. we didn't even realize and were about to walk away when a lady drove up and asked us if we paid for our ticket yet. we gave her a confused look and she handed us her parking ticket (she was on her way out) and explained that they ticket cars without the parking permits.
it was really nice of her to let us know.. though i didn't see anyone patrolling the structure so whether or not they do have someone ticketing on a sunday, i'm not sure. better to be safe than sorry.
an overall nice flea market, pretty well organized. a shuttle from the parking structure to the market, lots of signs. sellers are fairly open to bargaining and they're all really nice. -

I love this market... I've scored half my furniture here, among lots of nice dresses. There's no stress involved and even with the worst hangover, I happily stroll the garage. There's a lot of crap and the occasional great find. You'll find some reliable "regulars" pedaling their wares. If you like records... GO for chrissssakes!

This place is DOPE! Big flea market that also holds one of the biggest record shows in southern Cali. I come here every now and then to quench my thirst for digging. I think the record section has around 50 vendors alone. I've seen so much cool shit here I can probably spend a thousand dollars easily, not that they price the vinyl expensive. So many genres and price ranges there's something for every vinyl nerd. I even saw a Mexican psych section. How cool is that? The rest of the flea market is great. Vintage clothes, jewelry, toys and just about anything old and dusty you could think of (I saw a really old unopened can of RC cola). Every first Sunday morning of the month.

The Pasadena Flea Market in my favorate. Much better then the Melrose Trading Post and it out shines the junk at the Rose Boal Swap Meet. Alot of Antiques and Vintage Items. A great Record Section. You can find a great variety of Collectable dealers.
Entry fee is FREE.. unlike the Melrose Trading Post or the Rose Bowl Swap Meet. Parking is just $2. They have a free tram to drive you from the covered parking to the sellers. the market has 5 lots 3 out side and 2 inside.
I highly recommend the PCC Flea Market. The Vendors have real antiques and vintage items and are reasonably priced -

I like flea markets in general, this one is pretty good as it is very big. When I first came here (been going 5 years) it was a bit pricey, but people seemed to have calmed down a bit lately so this is much better.
I think the only downside is there could be more food stalls and also I find the stalls inside the parking structure a little dark and it's hard to see things properly. I think they should move it all outside, but then I guess they might not have enough space.
When I first came here everything was outside, but then they moved it across to the other side of campus, which is also a bit hard to find if you don't know it is there. -

Awesome Flea Market!
I first visited several years ago. There were many nice items for sale. Bed sets, Collectibles of all sorts, etc.
I purchased some Viewmaster reels of (a few of my favorite) 70s television shows (Chips and Emergency).
The last time I attempted to go was about 2 years ago, it was an extremely hot day...I circled for parking and was getting frustrated and was being argued with (by the person in my car).
So I ended up at Jack in the Box (across the street) ordering an Oreo Cookie Shake. -

Parking is a real problem. PCC parking was free until 2007. Now, you must find a kiosk to pay $2.00 to buy a permit, or risk getting a $25.00 fine as I did today. Parking is no deal since you must trudge across the entire campus from the parking structure to find the vendors. The former location along Hill was much nicer and more helpful to us senior citizens, the handicapped, and those who don't want to trek across the all-too-dirty campus.

I love my monthly shops over at the flea market. I never come back empty handed! I have furnished most of my house with items from here. Many bargains to be had. The DVD guy on the 4th floor has a lot of great dvds for sale. Looking for 78's? $1 each with most vendors! Try the homemade baked goods for sale and the tamales! Another great thing about the Flea market is that it is free admittance!

Been going for over 25 years, its great, free admission. I have spent thousands here over the years. Much better than Rose Bowl for a variety of reasons. The food here is great, often sold to help students organizations on campus. I must say I liked it when it was outside years ago, though in the summer it was sometimes way too hot. Some of the vendors are great to talk to, others are batshit crazy. Once I asked the price of a stack of viewmaster reels from some old coot, he told me if I knew what they were then I should know the Price (WTF?)Thank gawd he is dead now, so you won't have to deal with him! Another grandpa asked me to leave his booth because I was making him "nervous" (?). But all in all its a great cheap way to spend a Sunday, and who knows you might find a real treasure if you know how to look. I have.

The PCC Flea Market may not be as big as the Rose Bowl one, but it has its advantages. First, no admission fee. Second, most of the booths are indoors, inside the parking lot. I personally like to be shielded from the sun. There are some vendors outside too. I found this flea market less overwhelming than the Rose Bowl because of its smaller size. If you have the time and patience, you might be able to find some treasure.

just went there today on this hot hot summer day and was relieved that more than half of the vendors are located in the covered parking structure. it was nice and cool (although a bit dark). parking was a little far, but it was free (as is the flea market itself) so i guess i shouldn't complain. got some cool kitchen cermamics and some cool modern end tables. i'm not much of a haggler, but i think i did pretty well. although there were a lot of things i couldn't care for (you know what they say about one man's trash...), there were lots of eye catching things that would have me opening my wallet if i had money in it. this place is great for people who like old toys, records, kitchen stuff, but not much in the way of mid century furniture. for that i guess i'll have to shell out the $10 and bake in the hot sun when the rose bowl flea market rolls around.

i am a fan of the melrose trading post and have never been to the rose bowl! but truth be known PCC's flea market is exactly my speed. low key, the vintage of melrose without the price, bargains galore, i have found fabulous costume jewelry spanning 5-6 decades easy! paint by numbers artwork, one of my favorite things ever! endless pairs of old school sunglasses -the only thing i really collect- i still have yet to make it to the records! and the vendors are of course delightful. go go go, and enjoy!
