Even though Park Chow sounds like the name of a Chinese male model with an eating disorder, it's really the sister restaurant to the bustling one on Church in the Castro. This one is bustling, too, but it's hella bigger with a couple of floors of seating. Park Chow is the sister who lives in a suburban, two-story colonial with her doctor husband and two bratty kids, while Chow on Church is the single city girl with her legs spread wide open. Otherwise, they laugh alike, they walk alike, and at times, they even talk alike. You may lose your mind.

Jamie W. and I have come here several times, but our last time was at the end of a long drive from Gilroy when we just had a hankering for our favorite dessert in the city, the $5.95 Ginger Cake with Pumpkin Ice Cream (see photo). Gratefully, it's of the same quality as what they serve on Church. In an especially decadent move, we also ordered the $5.95 Pear-Huckleberry Cobbler, and I requested it a la mode with... oh yes... Pumpkin Ice Cream (see photo). What was nice was that the waitress didn't charge me extra for it. There's a genuinely happy crew who serve here.

FOOD - 4 stars...same quality as its drag queen sister Chow on Church
AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...more seating here, still gets crowded
SERVICE - 4.5 stars...really nice and responsive to special requests
TOTAL - 4 stars...killer dessert served in TWO locations...awesome!

He wanted a breakfast buffet, but settled on a good breakfast spot.  The wait for Mama's was 45 minutes, so I instantly remembered & suggested Park Chow, which has been under my bookmark for months.  I was emo earlier this morning after seeing how long the line for H&M for the Jimmy Choo collection's release was an hour before opening & said screw that and left without anything, and needed an instant pick me up...Park Chow helped!

He got the bacon scramble.  I was tempted to get the ginger cake after reading Cece's review & other Yelpers as well, but decided to pass.  I opted for the French Toast instead.  The portions are very generous, lots of thick pieces of cinnamon toast bread with mascarpone cheese and a light drizzle of maple syrup.  The best French Toast I've ever had!  I also had a hot chocolate which was served very prettily; it was also very chocolatey but wasn't really hot.  Next time I'll pass, because it was sugar overload with the French Toast.  His bacon scramble had three cheeses and some garlic and spinach in it as well, which he thought was very tasty.  We both not only loved my French Toast, but also the potatoes, the seasoning was perfect, they were soft & crunchy!  The OJ is also fresh squeezed.

I'm glad we finally gave them a try.  Yet another great breakfast spot in the city.  The decor of the place is also very cute.  Portions are generous and prices aren't bad, after tax before tip, our meals and drinks were only $28 and change.

I have been dying to try Park Chow(http://www.yelp.com/bi...). I knew I had to wait for a weekday when the crowd had died down and I wouldn't feel rushed for a table with thirty people mean mugging me for my setting.

The perfect day...my birthday brunch!

Service is fantastic here. You think it, and they have already anticipated your thought. Want more coffee? No worries...someone will come around with the pot of Organic "Thanksgiving Blend" of coffee to refill you in no-time.
When the plates arrived so did the ketchup, hot-sauce, syrup, refill of coffee and all in a flurry of smiles and generosity. I felt like I was in food devouring heaven.
The plates were huge here! We ordered the Eggs Benedict with homefries, salad, Canadian bacon all on a English muffin(http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Platted perfect with flawless presentation. I could tell the chefs were on their game back there in the kitchen:)
Steak Quesadillas(http://www.yelp.com/bi...). Avocados, cheese tender grilled steak and soft flour shell. Yummmy!
Blueberry pancakes(http://www.yelp.com/bi...). 'Nuff said!
Crispy side of bacon(http://www.yelp.com/bi...). I savored every bite of this crisp piece of cooked meat. Nicely prepared so as to drain all of the fat during preparation.
Fireplace(http://www.yelp.com/bi...) sat as a reminder that they want you to feel at home. I did, and I look forward to coming back soon for lunch or dinner.
Another day, another year passed. Another lesson learned.....
Until next year!

Went here with some girlfriends to catch up and have a late lunch. I hadn't been in years so I had forgotten how good this place was. And with a menu that has a Smiling Noodles dish, what more could you ask for?

All three of our dishes were at hit:
- Linguini w/ clams, squid, prawns, garlic, parsley, chiles, lemon
- Organic fried egg, country ham, tomato, and gruyere sandwich
- Thai-Style noodles w/ steak & chicken, peanuts, spicy lime-chili-garlic broth

Good food & good company. The only down side is that we had to keep pausing our conversation to feed our meters.

I would give Park Chow five stars on any other occasion, but their mashed polenta was SOOOOO bad. I always get a side of fried polenta that is a crispy bite of sweet heaven. But this mushy version was just wrong. I could taste chunks of butter. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CRISPY TRIANGLE-SHAPED ONE.

The Thai-Style noodles w/ steak & chicken, peanuts, spicy lime-chili-garlic broth was just as yummy as I remembered...and spicier than usual...which I loved.

My bf had the daily special with tuna and roasted potatoes. My goodness, the tuna was so flavorful in its curry sauce and the potatoes were just crack...I have no idea what herbs they used because it was so dark inside the restaurant, but wow, delicious.

I also got a glass of Toni Jost, Riesling....god I love Riesling...I really do...so much better than all the other wines I've ever tasted. And this glass was exceptional sweet and delicious.

Such a wonderful place for a casual date...make sure you sit upstair...so much more romantic. :)

And another thing...they don't take reservations but you can call 10-15 mins before you arrive to minimize the wait.

Five stars for dinner! I have had brunch at Park Chow a bunch of times but dinner just stole the show! I couldn't believe how good everything was! The seasoning was so unbelievable I was tempted to ask to speak to the Chef to compliment him or her, but since they were slammed I refrained from it. I had the chile rellano for my entree and even though I wasn't that hungry and wasn't planning to eat the whole thing, I ended up cleaning my plate. I also stole a few bites of bread and dipped into the smiling noodles that my friends got and that was delicious too.  They know how to work spices!

Best part hands down was when we ordered three different desserts and allowed each other to sample each one. The ginger cake was awesome.  My chocolate cake in it's thick chocolate syrup was rich heaven.  However my personal favorite was my friend's pecan pie that she ordered w/vanilla ice cream. Oooooooh sooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!

At this rate, this restaurant will easily go another 1,000 reviews w/no worries.  While other neighborhood places have closed down and lost the battle of the Sunset restaurants (Cafe Gratitude, Canvas, etc....), I don't think Park Chow has anything to worry about.

Okay, yup! 5 stars. Park Chow still gets it. The customer service is just great!  Attentive and patient tonight was our waiter, Jamai. We sat upstairs on the deck with the heat lamp warming us just enough.

I ordered the Flank steak with French Fries and a green salad, and my little sister J. ordered Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza. She was very happy.
All the food was so perfect! The steak was perfect! The fries, so crunchy, we ordered another round :-)
Yeah!

Went to Park Chow for a birthday dinner.  It's best to call ahead and let them know you're coming so they start making room for you.  Our party was 6 people and they put two small round tables together in a corner near the fireplace.  It was pretty surprising that they didn't have a rectangular table for our semi-large party.  It was really loud and we couldn't hear each other talk.

Other than the logistics, it was pretty decent.  The Smiling Noodles were pretty tasty and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food.  Of course the ginger cake with the pumpkin ice cream was DELICIOUS.  I'm pretty sure that's the best part.  My boyfriend informed me that the portions were small and he always leaves Park Chow hungry, but I beg to differ.  I got a small salad to start and the small Smiling Noodles and I was satisfied.   Maybe it's because he's still a growing boy at 27.  Who knows.

All in all, I would go back, but I'm not in a hurry and I am not dreaming about it.

I came here today with a bunch of Nike's runner.  Let's just say i think this place is overly hyped.  The restaurant itself is cute and has a homely feel, however, it was way too crowded, hot, and humid in here as we were sitting next to the fireplace.  I felt quite germy in here...weird feeling!

As i looked over the menu, nothing really caught my eyes.  Just eggs here and there, burgers, and salad....boring!  So my BF decided to order the Pot Roast- large for us since his favorite the Beef Short Ribs were no longer on the menu.  I wasn't really excited about eating here to begin with- i'd rather have dim sum so i didn't care at all....

It did take a while for before the waitress came by to get our order.  A table full of hungry runner is no fun!  When the food came out, the pot roast was decent, it was tender and meaty, but i did need to add some salt and pepper to it.  The pot roast came with peas, 2 sides of mash potatoes, and bacon bits spinkled on top which was a nice touch!

Some of the people at the table ordered dessert but it took a really long time for that to come out.  Everyone was tired and so was I.  I was most happy when the bill came out and we could finally pay to leave.  This is one of those brunch places that might appeal to some people, but it wasn't my cup of tea.  I wasn't excited, eating the food didn't leave me feeling satisfied....it was more eating just to eat and that's not my style.  When i eat something, i want to inhale it!

The parking God's were in our favor Saturday evening around 6pm- prime parking in front of the place.

This place was already crowded. From the out side looking in and onto walking in, the place has a cozy warm feel to it. I guess because of all the wood accents in contrast w/ the lighting.

We were seated upstairs promptly.
Our order: My cousins ordered the Burger Royale and I had the artichoke Pizzette for our main entree.

My cousins scarfed down their Burger Royales - so by that, I assume it was really good.

My Artichoke Pizzette was tasty, light , and filling. It was on a super thin crust. I was happy with my order.

Appetizers/ starters: Calamari & hot wings. It was good. Calamari looked like it was fried in clean oil and Hot wings looked well dressed in hot sauce.

There is this one drink that is really TASTY: SUMMER MELON COOLER. It's a virgin cooler drink but really refreshing. A must to try.

The waitress was okay w/ her service; didn't come back to refill our drinks or check on us after we ordered. *suggestion: order everything at once and tell them to come back in 10 min after the order comes to check on you guys ( they are really busy at this place)

In summary what I liked most about this place is the reasonably priced entrees that are tasty and the ambiance. You have a choice to sit inside or out on the 2nd floor - that was cool.

Great for a small group or a couple.

I come here from Hayes Valley for brunch on the weekends.

If you are coming here, make sure you call ahead and get on the list so when you show up you don't have to wait in their huge line!

They have a couple different seating areas, upstairs is open air and downstairs is intimate with their low lit lighting and fireplace.

My review might be a bit skewed because I always get the same amazing thing! I like the egg scramble with bacon, broccoli and cheese. Its served with potatoes and toast. The Orange juice is awesome, fresh with a perfect balance of sweet and sour.

If you've never been here for brunch, do it!!

Breakfast and Brunch Review
Two of us had different versions of the Scramble (Bacon, Veggie), and the others had the Huevos Rancheros and Poached eggs.  The Bacon Scramble was cooked just right and had a lot of bacon (a plus), but was not a ton of food like some other brunch places I have been.  I did not enjoy the home fries at all, maybe it was a bad batch, but I noticed neither did any of my friends because most of these very crispy taters were left on every ones plates in the end.  Their breakfast/brunch menu was rather small, but I don't like decisions, so this was a plus for me.
By far my favorite thing about this place was the upstairs patio.  We had our pick of seats, but you could have shade, sun, heater or no heater. It was just a very quaint place to be on an early Sunday morning.

I have only had positive experiences at Park Chow. The entire restaurant has different feels as you walk through it. The front tables are almost as if you're sitting outside a French bistro. As soon as you walk in, it's as though you're now in a log-made bar and restaurant. Finally, the upstairs patio is nice to sit at on a nice day in the city. The food is substantial and of varying tastes. Group accomodating. Kid-friendly. Music selection is very eclectic. I had lunch one time there and the theme music from Star Wars was playing. Great place. Will definitely go back again, again, and again.

like the ambiance of the upstairs setting...especially when the rooftop is open... totally nice on a nice Sf sunny day!
would recommend it to others for all american home style foods...also liking the fact that you can call ahead and put ur name on a reservation/waiting list.
the only thing.. friday and sat nites are a little longer wait for a table( even with the call in ahead).. but then again thats expected since those are 'going out' nites!

either way make sure you give it a try!

Sweetums and I came here for the first time tonight on a whim.  We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess, who invited us to take a seat upstairs which we found without a problem. The inside of this restaurant is the perfect mix of rustic, and classy. The upstairs area has a really rad loft type feel to it. Our server was really knowledgeable, and although obviously busy remained attentive through the entirety of our meal.

... Oh yeah! the MEAL!

I ordered the fennel sausage pizzette (I'm a sucker for fennel!) and my boyfriend had the thai noodles, we both had the IPA.. Our food arrived promptly, and the beers came out frosty in all their boozy glory. My pizza was perfectly cooked, and although you might not think it; potatoes are AWESOME ON PIZZA! for 9 bucks I got a yummy 12' pizza all to myself, with a really well thought out, fresh topping combination. My honey's noodles also got a thumbs up.

Long story short... We left full and buzzed for about $15 bucks a piece (pre-tip) SCORE! Park Chow is an absolute gem and we will be returning soon, I'm sure.

I am a big fan of the "Chow" restaurants.  Casual, good food with something for everyone....The food is mainly comfort food, but it spans many cuisines without seeming all over the place.  It can get busy and service can be inconsistent.

I love the Thai Style noodles, the Thai salad and the basic comfort foods available here.

It is nice to eat on the roof deck on a nice day.

I worked close to here during the Dot Com days and we spent many an afternoon here drinking champagne and eating good food.

$$$$ Got a parking ticket since its 30 mins only and i came out 31 mins too late.
$%@# Parking Enforcement dude was mean and rude and an old chinese man leaned on his cane so he could laugh heartily with teeth half gone at my expense.

****Egg Benedict with homefries was delish. those homefries are hellza crispy and garlicky. Coffee was not bitter or sour, which was a welcome treat. really nice servers too.
$$$ kinda pricey for brunch...but its near GG park, so...meh.

Quite a decent neighborhood restaurant.  One of my best girlfriends lives in the area so I have been here quite a few times.  Love how the "Chow" restaurants adhere to a policy of serving mainly organic, natural, sustainable menu items.  I have been to the Chow restaurants in Lafayette and Danville and the menus are all pretty similar.

We came again today after the Nike Marathon (I completed the 1/2 marathon).... it was mobbed as hungry runners know where to go to get sustenance!

We were a party of 3 adults + 1 baby + 1 toddler.  Miraculously we were seated in a warm, comfy cozy booth within 15 minutes, which is a bit shocking given there were loads of  people milling around waiting for a table.  Our toddler was a bit rambuctious and accidentally broke the container that the sugar was contained in (oops!)

Although they were super swamped given the marathon business, our server was great in bringing crayons/paper for the toddler, taking our order quickly and we were served pretty quickly as well.  Impressive given the state of the restaurant -- they were MOBBED.

I ordered the "sustainable" fish tacos w/ fries (chute, I deserve that, right!?!?) -- they were delicious but I put too much tabasco on the dish and my mouth was on fire.  Anna ordered the huevos rancheros and that was just a pretty dish.  Julianne ordered an egg w/ toast dish and her toddler ordered scrambled eggs -- we learned today that he likes ketchup with his eggs... so it was a developmental day after all!

At Park Chow it's not the most fabulous meal you can get, but it's definitely going to be a solid meal with a great atmosphere.

Good food! I've came here a few times with friends and enjoyed my meal every time! The outdoor seating is actually not bad at night because they turn on the heater from above which keeps me warm. The service is quick and smooth, and the waitresses were friendly. The food came fast and was good! Luckily Park Chow is within walking distance, but it's not a cheap dinner!

Just to let know know what the atmosphere is inside of the restaurant. I have been to a few different "establishments" and I find it maddening when you sit, pay a shitload of money, and can barely hear yourself eat.
The joint is quiet, respectively. I was just in there on a busy Sunday with a friend for drinks and I had a conversation without having to yell or repeat myself. Incredibly nice for sitting across from the bar at a table in a crowded restaurant. The noise coming from the children at the table next to us was unintelligible, which means they couldn't hear me swearing or making lewd comments. It's nice.......

Oh, yeah, the food is good and you don't need stimulus from Obama to enjoy it either.

Beh!
I was there last night, my dinner was "beeeh".
I got the seafood linguine, which is really hard to spoil, however chefs at park chow got the secret "how to make bad linguine".,.
I tried Smiling noodles from my friend's plate - not too far from my linguine.
Corn pudding was awkward.
Some were saying that Ginger cake is a blessing - it was ok.
I was absolutely disappointed.
I learned my lesson - never go to the place where you can get Italian, Thai, Mexican etc... It has to be specialized restaurant with well trained chefs to bring joy to your dinner.

I've been going to Park Chow for a few years.  For me, there were 2 reasons to visit Park Chow - The short ribs and breakfast.  I've also had their fish, pizza, Thai noodles, hamburger and pastas.  They were all just okay.

Tonight  we took an out of town friend to Park Chow for some of their short ribs.  Our friend had previously been there before and loved the short ribs.  When we got there, we discovered that the short ribs is now a pot roast.  We were told that it's the same EXCEPT that it's no longer made with short ribs but shoulder meat.  Shoulder meat!  That's a big EXCEPT since shoulder meat is nothing like short ribs, but I decided to give it a try anyway.   When the pot roast arrived, it looked a lot like the short rib dish I remember, but it certainly didn't taste like the short ribs I remembered.

The short ribs were so tender they just fell off the bone and they were so tasty, now it's just like any pot roast made with shoulder meat.  It used to be so nice to get the short ribs there that was as good as some fancy high-end restaurant but in a very comfortable casual environment where you don't have to worry about getting dressed up and do a lot of planning.  It was cozy, comfortable and relaxing.  One thing I noticed is that the portion is bigger and the price stayed the same.  That formula just didn't work for me.  It's quantity over quality.

I'm disappointed that they got rid of their best item.  Now, there's not a  lot of reasons to go there for dinner.  I'm hoping that the breakfast hasn't changed here!

This place is contemporary American/Asian-fusion cuisine. Nearly impossible to park, your best bet is to venture out into golden gate park for parking.

It seems to always be crowded in here. Crowded = good, right?

I ordered a veggie burger with avocado and a side Cesar salad. After a long wait my meal came: wheat bun with half an avocado and some cucumbers in it. I asked where the patty was out loud and someone in my party told me there's no patty because I ordered a veggie burger (hence only the avocado and cucumbers??). After flagging down the waitress she took a look at it and said "oh they forgot to put a patty in there?"

She took my burger back while all the rest of my party happily munched on their food. By the time my food came back everyone was nearly done eating. Not fun to eat alone while everyone else waits for you. The actual burger was okay, albeit a little spicy which was a nice surprise. Dunno what it was made out of but it's probably best not to tell me.

Dessert was typical dessert. Nothing to write home about.

All in all the service was slow. Perhaps they were understaffed that night and unusually overcrowded (for a Tuesday evening).

If I go back, I'd probably order take-out.

This is my 2nd review for Park Chow.   Everyone who knows me know that I love this place.  In fact, it's always a no-brainer for when we just want to grab some good food after a ride or surf session because it's close to my house and I think the food is simple pure awesomeness.  But lately, Park Chow, you are letting me down.  After being a 10 year fan of your untiring classics, your new menu is on the downward slope.  What happened?

Last night I ordered the pork chops and they were salty.  Not just, "hey this is a little salty," but someone dropped the Morton's on the fry pan.  Even the salad that was included with my fiance's fish tacos was salty.  Mitigate the salt please!!!

Your longtme fan

I looove eating at this place. I've been coming here for years (mostly for brunch) and have never left disappointed. Just a tip...on weekends, it place gets packed during brunch...so just be patient...it's totally worth it.

Recommeded (brunch only):
CHICKEN SAUSAGE SCRAMBLE: I loooove eggs! this is a heaping portion of moist scrambled eggs with chicken sausage, mushrooms, spinach, and cheese. I always ask for jalopenos in mine for that extra kick :)

FRENCH TOAST: comes with strawberrys and fresh made mascarpone cream. the cream is delicious...u can taste the sweetness from the buttermilk that they use to make it.

QUICHE LORRAINE: only had this once...but it was good. It's a little different than your typical quiche in that this has smoked bacon in it. the puff pastry crust was warm and flaky and just served well with the egg and cheese inside it. They only serve this on the weekends for brunch I think b/c i never see this on weekdays.

Park Chow also has fresh squeezed OJ and mimosas! There chai tea is fabulous too. you can really taste the spices.

A great place with very friendly and competent service, great food, and both outdoor and indoor seating.

Inside they have a fireplace, and I like to sit close by on a foggy night.  They also have a long polished bar (and you can eat at the bar if you want to or if you don't want to wait for a table).  There is an upstairs area that can be great in the summer, since they turn it into a terrace of sorts.  And, of course the area outside with the space heaters works great every time.

My favorite is the braised beef with mashed potatoes, also great are the steamed mussels, even their farfalle (and I'm not big on pasta).

The warm ginger cake deserves a review column of its own: yum!

This place is a staple for family dinners or nights out with friends.  They also have all organic breakfast with some interesting items.

Double thumbs down to this place. Simple description for this restaurant would be: Way overpriced and way under-portioned.

Finding parking to this place was actually pretty bad. Unless you go super late to eat or if you're lucky, you'd starve before you find parking. I went to eat here last night with my family. This atmosphere of the restaurant was very warm, cozy, and welcoming. It was fairly busy too. The waiter for our table seemed nice...until he annoyed us.  We didn't even get the chance to look over things yet and he just starts his non-stop, BART speed, incomprehensible intro on the food. And we tried to be nice and waited for him to breath during his pause to say, "Thank you." in hope that he got the point. Of course he didn't and carried on with his intro. So we had to listen to him until he finished.

Food comes out a short while after we ordered and the food looked appealing. Except...they came in a kid-sized plate. We ordered a Flank Steak which came with fries. Sadly, the fries can UNDER the piece of steak drowned in it's sauce. Soggy much? Yes, very. The Flank Steak came in 6 pieces and on the bill it said that it was "Flank Steak Large." Really? That was a large? I wonder how small a small would be then. We order Salmon also and that too came in a super tiny portion. On top of that, we had to order a pizza because there was so little food. The pizza was indeed freshly made. However, it didn't look very appealing and it looked like a whole cup of oil was used to make it. What's more? They decided to clear our table before serving the pizza and all we had was the pizza cutter? Where were our utensils? Gone and none available at the table.

Finally, the bill came and it was $50 bucks. Wow. Over over priced. And it wasn't even a fine dining restaurant. Not worth your buck. Don't come here.

If I were rich, I'd eat here more often.  Not that you need to be rich.  You just need to be okay with spending a bit more.  So this review is for my fellow good folks on the daily grind.

I was brought here on impulse by a dear friend on a sweet Saturday night in the City (sweet = rollin' up in nothin' but jeans & tees in an initially intimidating, busy spot and still scoring a table for 2 on the rooftop deck, beneath clear, open skies.  wow, privilege).

Add a glass of House red, engaging conversation, a pizzette (with Prosciutto, tomato, fresh ricotta & wild arugula), funny thoughts, Chile Relleno, arroz & a side of polenta, lighthearted musings, Ginger Cake, pumpkin ice cream, and laughter and more laughter sharing every bite together and you have...

this grand place called Park Chow,
where the food is exceptional and the space, a dream.

It's cozy, it's homey, it's time to CHOW down... heh. =)

Really love the Thai salad - great opener to the meal. Crispy, limey, tangy, it's perfect. The wontons as a starter are delish! Warm, steamed, delightful bunches of heaven...yummm. Their pizzas are homemade and very good, too. Some of their pastas were hit or miss. Of course Ryry says their spaghetti isn't nearly as good as his mother's in which the recipe was passed down from her mother. Okay, so we're a little biased =T. But theirs isn't bad - we'll leave it at that. And sometimes they have seasonal dishes which is great so things are changed up a bit. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!

The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, the restaurant gets crowded, the parking is hard to find. Great upstairs seating where my friends and I used to have large gatherings. All in all, a fun place to be!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco.  The people are friendly, the food is consistently delicious, and the beer selection is fantastic.

This place is very approachable both in terms of their prices as well as trying to score a table without reservations.  They have a wonderful heated upstairs dining area.  Been coming here for over ten years now.

Over 1000 reviews and I just recently went here...  Where the heck have I been?

Surprisingly, this place was not full at 9PM on a Saturday night.  We had no issues getting a table inside or outside.  We opted for the patio, where they had outdoor heaters.  Inside, they have a very cozy and nice wood fireplace. When I walked in, I felt like I was in Lake Tahoe.

The first thing that sticks out is their Chai Latte.  It was absolutely divine!  The right amount of spices and sweetness, and a bit of froth to top it off.

Items ordered:
Linguini with Clams, Squid, Prawns, Garlic, Parsley, Chiles, Lemon  --I thought this was very good but I wouldn't order it again.  It's not something that stood out to me.

Green Beans with Bacon --This was a side dish and it was so good! I guess the bacon made it all the better but that was tasty and I would definitely order it again.

I look forward to coming back here.  It has a very home-like feel.

On the downside, the service was not very attentive.  It also took them 30 minutes to actually collect our check to charge us.  I can look past it though because of their good food and good vibe.

Utter waste.

After eating lunch here with a friend, I am perplexed.  I seriously do not know why the reviews are so high.  Even if people are digging the ambiance, does it really warrant a 4 stars out of 1000+ people?

Bruschetta: The pieces of bread are sized large enough for giants.  Same with the size of the tomatoes.  Bigger isn't always better and this gets difficult to eat.  You'll have to do it fork and knife style.  You get two big pieces but unfortunately, one of them was burnt.

Thai-Style Noodles: Why the F did I order an "Asian" dish at an American restaurant?  Well because Yelpers said the Smiling Noodles were good here and since my friend had already ordered it, I decided to try this based on the waitress' recommendation.  It's plain, there is too much beef and chicken, and the taste is generic.  The Smiling Noodles doesn't rank very much higher either.

I've been experiencing some real hits and misses lately in the city... unfortunately this is an off the board MISS.

Ginger cake with pumpkin gelato, a dab of whipped cream, and some caramel sauce! ($5.95) :)

I ordered my usual ginger cake for breakfast yesterday before Sunday Streets! It was soooo good as always! Warm ginger cake (slightly crunchy on the outside) from the oven and delicious pumpkin gelato to complement! I LOVE! This place was unusually empty in the morning. Where were all the local San Franciscans? We got a great parking spot across the street!!! And we didn't have to wait to get a table!! It was amazing! :D

I think Park Chow knew we were coming!! :D Make way for Ice Cream Girl! hehe

This place is pretty damn good.

Unless, you're starving, and you walk down to the Powell station to catch the N train, then realize its been about an hour, and the N train hasn't arrived, and you're too lazy to look up alternate routes and http://nextmuni.com says it'll be there in 11 minutes, and it stays 11 minutes for about an hour, and then finally it comes, and because it's the first N train in 2 hours it's so packed you literally have to dive into it in order to fit, and then it takes about 30 minutes to get to 9th and Irving (or wherever this was)

but

they're so cool, they kept your name on the list, without you having even called to tell them you're late. So, you get seated first while there's a crowd of people waiting outside.

Good stuff man.

Very average.

The place is really nice and I love the patio seating and its a great place for groups since they have a private room upstairs. Other than that, I thought the food was really average. I came here for my friend's birthday and we had a pre-fix menu. I had the organic pork chop which was very dry but the appetizers were tasty but nothing special. I dont think I would come back her to for lunch or dinner --- only if I have too.
