Sports Bar to beat all sports bars!

Go here for any big game and expect to be surrounded by a couple hundred fellow supporters (as well as your opponents' supporters).  This place is great, but don't forget to reserve a table beforehand or you'll be standing at the bar.

The food is okay, but that's not the reason to go here.

Attention College Football Fans: Don't be fooled by the hosh posh sounding name of this place. I went on a Saturday afternoon to watch the USC/UW game and the atmosphere was out of this world. Alumni from all the big football schools come here to cheer on their alma maters and it can get pretty rowdy. Food is really expensive - but the drinks are strong and there are TVs EVERYWHERE so you'll never miss a thing.

There is nothing worse than being in a bar and being the only person cheering for your team! If you want to scream and yell get excited about a game this is a great place to be!!

Seems that all the sport fans at some point pop in here. Every time I have come in to this place both teams that are playing have fans scattered amongst the patrons.

Not crazy about the food here - their french fries are pretty weak, the chicken tenders are so-so, the wings I saw were... well wings.  Then again you're here for the giant screens!

So grab another drink and just deal with it!

Date Rating: 3
Pick up Scale: 2 (10 if you're a hot chick who likes sports fanatics this place is full of them!)

Strong Suggestions: Wear your team's colors and if your throat is dry drink some honey and hot water and get ready to scream!

Ugh.  This is the go-to place for whenever my company is hosting a farewell party for someone (fun fact: when it's for people who got laid off, they'll put it on the company tab.  Just leaving on your own? Pay your own way.)  I've never attempted to have a table here or eat dinner (but I've heard tell the food is okay), just spent time at the bar, entirely failing to get any of the bartenders' attention so they can get me another drink.  What I'm saying is, even when it's not crowded, the service sucks.  And when it is crowded? Blech.

They seem to have a pretty good happy hour, at least, so it didn't hurt my wallet that badly.  I'm glad it was only $5 for the worst gin and tonic I've ever had.

In short? It's not bad if someone else is paying for you.

I was here for the big Pats/Denver game two weekends ago for the first and it was en experience.  Lot of fun with a big group watching a playoff game, but didn't strike me as regular sports destination.  The best part is that you can reserve tables there for big groups, although they packed two groups totalling 23 people into a long table made for 20.  You'll be getting cozy with strangers.

The service for food was dirt slow, but the beer pitchers were speedy and cheap.  The menu was odd, it was more restaurant like than bar like - the only real bar food is wings.  No nachos or skins or mozz sticks, etc (at least that I could see).  The wings were ok.  The burger was fantastic though.

It's a big fun atmosphere and you won't miss a play in a big game, although you won't hear anything of the announcers or ref...which is usually ok.  When I was there, we screamed our brains out and had a good time.

I'm a huge baseball fan. Go Yankees! However, I don't have cable, which means that often, I'm watching the games at a sports bar. By far, my favorite is The Park Avenue Country Club.
For it's multiple large screens, great bar food and easy going atmosphere, I'm a fan. For its classy clientele and clean, upscale pub like environment, I'm a huge fan. The wings are too die for and the screens in the bathroom make this place an all star!

What a great place to be! Last week I went to the Park Avenue Country Club invited by a few friends. Let me tell you. I've never seen so many big screens in my life. Great food and drinks, and fair prices. I believe that there is no place in NYC that can compete with this one.

A frat boy's delight. Lots of tv's. The bar service is spotty at best. It takes a while to get a drink and the bartenders can be impolite at times. While there are lots of tv's, you have to constantly turn your head to catch them as they're positioned at all angles throughout the bars. Prices have become more reasonable ($5.00 for Coors Light, previously they were $5.50). Food menus is a little overpriced as well. For a big game atmosphere, it's tough to beat. On a regular sports day, there are better options.
