I teach belly dance classes at the Lytle House, in the park, and have enjoyed walking in the park before my classes. For those who have kids, the city recreation department offers a lot of classes for children, too.

Awesome park, great place to go for walks, or to ride your bike. I love in the fall, you can see the salmon in the slough. It's a fun place for all ages.

It's a great place to bring your little one! It has a pretty decent playground, but the charm is that its next to the Sammamish River Trail. The grounds are nicely kept and there is a variety of things to see, including a old log cabin, a quaint little museum, an old school bell, a rustic bridge... there are also plenty of cyclists, boaters and etc. Watch out for the duck and geese poop as you wander about.

We came back!! A fellow Yelper told me that there was a large gravel parking lot nearby (just down the curve) which was good to know! (Thank you, R!) The parking lot by the park was full. My dog and I took a walk down on the Sammarish River Trail. We did have one interesting incident. We ran into a rooster and a hen on the path...I assume they were wild/feral. My dog was very very very interested the birds. I am not sure where they came from..but they do not seem aggressive, so we moved on.
We did enjoy our walk. There were garbage cans in various spots. Plenty of birds and small animals that would get your dog's attention on a nice day. I did appreciate the mile marker but I didn't see one after mile 10 and we walked pretty far...
We will be back another day to go in the other direction :-)

I need to come back and explore this park further. I did not have a lot of time to go for a walk on… Read more »
Having recently moved to the area, I needed to find kiddie entertainment QUICK. Keeping two active little ones moving and entertained can be challenging, and not every park gets the job done. This one, however, is easily one of the best in the greater Seattle area.
Despite the ridiculously small parking lot (there's a big gravel lot just past the park) there's lots to do, and both open areas and shaded areas for you to choose from. There's a central climbing structure with 3 slides, a semi-detached "boat" of soarts, and a nearby zip-slide that I love to ...uh...let my KIDS ride on. It's all for the kids. I definitely do NOT pretend to be Indiana Jones zipping across a deep river canyon with snapping crocodiles waiting for a meal. I most certainly do not.
There's some very old houses on the park that are a part of the Bothell museum, and you can read some interesting history of the city's origins. The old wooden bridge over the slough (that's pronounced SLEW for ya illiterate folk) is far too tempting for my 5-year old to NOT spit off of, throw rocks off of, or consider tossing his 2 year old sister had I not quickly intervened. Once you cross over, though, watch out for high-speed bikers zipping through, or you'll end up looking like that possum that you passed on the highway.

Great park, we enjoy taking the babies their for walks on the trail and people watching.
Paid gov't holiday and day one of "mid winter break" means only one thing: Get out of house and wear out the children...now!
I grew up in this park and it's closeby hidden sister, Blythe Park.
For it's location in downtown Bothell, this park offers you a whole lot.
Walking trails, picnic areas, kiddie play lot, access to shops, eats, the B-G bike trail, open grass areas and ample spots of shade and sun in summer time.
Bothell is good at throwing "city events" here almost year round and it's worth it every time.

It really is a nice park. It even has an iconic white bridge to help you safely traverse over the slough. So, I want to give it another shot, but too many traumatic things happened to me as a child at this park including:
*The Geese Incident*
My younger sister and I had scraped our allowance together, rode our bikes down to The Ranch Drive-In and bought ourselves some krinkle cut fries to enjoy at the park. Unfortunately, geese also like french fries and we were chased! Chased until we finally relented and threw our fries and made a mad dash to hide out in the bathroom.
*The Faux Leech Incident*
Along one of the tributaries there was this aluminum tube that was probably 4 feet in diameter so we had plenty of room to traverse through it as "an adventure." Well, the bottom was all mossy, and I slipped in the muddy gross water, and since I had just seen Stand by Me, I started freaking out that there were going to be leeches all over me. I never lived that down. Occasionally, if my family thinks I'm overreacting they'll start yelling "LEECHES! LEECHES!!!"
*The Little Michelle B Falls into the Slough during a Brownie outing while singing a very animated version of Skinamarinkydinkydink*
I think that one is fairly self explanatory.

I have lived in the area for two years and just recently discovered this quaint part of Bothell. From the Sammamish (Burke Gilman) Trail you cross a wooden bridge and you will walk into the park. Lots of grass to throw a Frisbee, have a picnic and enjoy little children feeding the ducks. There are lots of trails to discover and a playground for the kiddies. They have various events in the park. If you are in the area, drop by and write a review. http://www.ci.bothell....
Nice park but if you're on a bike, don't play chicken with the chickens. Trust me.

This park is excellent! The only thing it is missing is a great off leash Dog Park! There is ample parking, great picnic locations and a new playground! The best part about this park for me is the easy accessibility to the Burke-Gilman trail. It is located at the 9.5 mile marker for those wondering.....Also at the end of June before the Fourth of July they do many early American history booths and a reenactment on the Fourth.....

Awesome place to go to if you're stressing out about your driver's test, or you just need a place to hang out. It is a quaint little park with its own historical museum that never seems open and a nice park for kids. It is a great place to go jogging, walking, biking, or even canoeing! I have canoed up and down the river many times and the views you get are really lovely.

This park is great, peaceful and loaded with history! Historic Log Cabin and Turn of the century house open for tours. All part of Bothell's living history. Veteran's Memorial is very cool, created as an Eagle project by local Scouts. Don't miss the summertime concerts in the evenings beside the river.

On a nice day, grab food across the street (there are a lot of really cute restaurants), and grab a bench in the park. There are several benches along the trail overlooking the water.
This is probably the cutest park there is. It comes complete with its own ducks! There's cute shops, cute plants, and potential cute jogging people running on the Burke-Gilman trail!
what a nice park. i really enjoy romantic walks over the little bridge over the sloo or feedingthe geese on the landing. as a child i loved rding my bike around the burke gillman trail. they only downside is that this park is kinda small so it can get really crowded. however at night it can be lovely.
