We'll always have Paris.

I disagree with Michael C's review...  I don't think Paris is at all Pier 1.. It's the perfect mixture of vintage pieces from a multitude of eras/ price ranges...

They have everything from 1950's costume jewelry to one-of-a-kind vintage high end designer dresses in addition to new pieces created by local artisans.

The layout of the store makes for the perfect vintage shopping experience-- you truly feel like you are in great grandmother's attic.

There is a section for little kids that is rather eccentric but nothing short of fabulous. I found a dusty rose pink tulle skirt with handmade roses sewn on with matching butterfly wings that absolutely precious.

Yes, prices are more expensive than incognito, but that's the price you pay for high quality vintage pieces.

Okay, I live in Chicago now, but whenever I go home to visit, I like to stop by and see what Paris is up to.  I dread walking through their vintage clothing space in the back left corner but everything else is nice. They mix modern with vintage pieces.
....it's very cute. The staff used to not be friendly but I think they've gotten a lot better. If you're surrounded by shabby chic, pretty objects, why not smile and say hello? :)

I wasn't impressed with Paris upon my first visit.

Firstly, they didn't seem to be an actual ANTIQUE shop - more like a faux antique shop. (Think Pier 1 Imports...)

Secondly, things were WAY too expensive for what they were. I was looking for a vintage-looking coin purse as a gift for someone... and they had them, but well over what I was willing to pay (Come on... $75 for a coin purse, vintage or no, is beyond my budget.)

I ended up running across the street to Incognito and getting something  like what I wanted, but for way cheaper.

Plus, and I don't know if it's because of how much foot traffic they get, but at times I felt like I was alone in this place, this claustrophobic's nightmare. Walking space is at a premium, so if you don't like small spaces (or like to chit chat with an owner) this may not be the place for you.

Ahhhh! Gay Paris`! I definitely love this little store! Oh my gooodness! It's oh so . . . (what's the word I'm looking for?) Paris`! I did enjoy looking at everything; and there is a lot to look at. Every nook and cranny is filled with an antique, classic or unique piece. Don't blink you may miss something. My only concern was that I was not acknowledged when I entered the store. Once I reached the counter the clerks were extremely friendly. If you are looking for something different that 20 other people won't have go to this store! They price range goes from frugal to fortune. I feel in love with a shirt that was $250 but bought a tea mug for $3!

Paris instantly reminded me of my great-grandmothers house. It's cluttered with numerous pieces (most non-matching or coordinating) around the store. In here you can find everything a "vintage" woman desires. Clothing, scarves, jewelry, sunglasses, and various other keepsakes. It's definitely not a place I would go to shop on a regular basis, but I was looking for a wedding gift and definitely saw somethings of interest (for the bride). The prices are OK. I saw this pretty ring for $40, but when I asked if it was sterling silver, the lady said "Oh no...it would cost a lot more if it was". Unfortunately, I can't wear anything but sterling... so I wasn't able to purchase much of their jewelry. The store is cramped, and the ladies working there were definitely friendly and helpful.
