On an "EXTREME" meter, parasailing would be one of the lower things to do, but it is indeed, pretty neat. We went at 10am and there were 2 other couples.
The captain was really cool...total "Local" guy. When he asked who wants to go first, of course K said I did. So I went, and you get pretty high up there... as someone that is afraid of sharks, I must say, when he stopped the boat to let me fall into the water in the middle of dark, deep ocean, the image of a shark lurking at the surface waiting for a little 120 pound snack definitely crossed my mind.
Like I said, it's "cool" but you only need to do it once.
We recently took a cruise that docked in Catalina. We called ahead and made reservations with Parasailing Catalina and were confirmed for 11:00 am. We were told to go to their store front at 10:45 am. We arrived at 10:30 and hung out and no one was there we finally at 10:45 went in the fishing shop next door and asked and they told us oh yeah they aren't going to be open today go ahead and go over to the other place on the dock they should be able to fit you in. While our car wasn't charged for the trip it still would have been nice if the business owner could have A) called us and left a message so that when we got off the ship we could immediately have booked with the "other" company or B) called the "other company" themselves and asked them to honor our reservation. C) could have put a sign on the window stating they were closed. It worked out for us though and we had a great experience with the other company and I would highly recommend them. See my review :) We were lucky we were able to get in with the other company as it filled up quickly and they were sold out before noon.
