This is a gorgeous old art deco theatre, from the times before a theater meant two narrow rows of seats or neck-spraining stadium seating. It's huge, with multiple aisles, and a high ceiling (though sadly, no balcony). The walls are covered in interesting period decorations. Even the bathrooms are relatively opulent.
While the shows put on there are a mixed bag (everything from beauty contests and high school musicals to Hootie and the Blowfish), I've had several good musical experiences there, including being there for a recording of the Mountian Stage radio program.
