I've played Paradise Valley more times than any other and consider it my home course.  The course is managed very well.  The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.  They keep everything and everybody moving. The course is very well maintained as well.  The tee boxes, fairways and greens are normally in great shape.  I've played more expensive courses that don't look as good as Paradise.  The greens are a little faster than most courses and for the most part, putts true.  The course has enough challenges to keep even the most-skilled golfers interested.  There are lakes, creeks, trees, OBs and other hazards that come to play on almost all the holes.  The fairways are fairly wide so go ahead and pull out the driver just as long as you don't have a severe slice or hook, but don't get too greedy or you'll be pulling out another ball.  Course management is key.   The course also has excellent drainage, probably one of the best in the best area, so it's playable all year round.

The cons?  The price has really went up and lately we've playing other courses, such as Rio Vista, that offer specials.  Also, play in the afternoon can be really slow, but then again, that goes for most courses as that's when the hackers come out of the woodwork.

This is a very nice course. The first 3 holes always get backed up and then every hole after that takes off. I guess it must be the way they designed it. The bar area is very nice with lots of TVs and high tables with stools (that's weird and random but I love sitting up higher! LOL)

Played the course yesterday and thought the course was...just okay.

Pros:  course has wide open fairways and will allow you to use every club in your bag.  Staff was very friendly as well.  A couple challenging holes and the pace was great for me, but behind me it was a disaster, so be forewarned.  GPS in the cart was nice.

Cons:  definitely the pace can be slow from what I observed.  Not too many memorable holes.

Paid $63 for the round, so a little pricey when Rancho Solano is the same price and I thought a lot more fun.

The second of two golf courses in Fairfiled.  This is my favorite of the two.  Hole 10 is a difficult dog leg left with a blind water hazard.  This course can play a bit slow on the weekends, but it is an extremely challenging course.  On Sundays in teh clubhouse, it's like  party with people drinking and having a good time watching football on the big screen. Good times at Paradise Valley.

Not a bad course, but the fact that it's more or less located in the East Bay makes it that much better because its competition is so pathetic.  The staff is really friendly, and the course is long enough to pull out your driver on a few holes.  There are a few houses on about 6-8 holes, but they're set far enough back where they don't really come into play; in other words, you don't feel like you're in Florida.  Pace of play is so-so, but is better than many of the alternatives in the area.
