Paradise Pond was the view from my window my first year at Smith. It's a corner of heaven fallen to earth. I rowed out to the microscopic island once when I was a junior on a perfect fall day and I remember reciting Yeats to myself in that total pretentious collegy way. But hell...it's been over 20 years and those hours are still clear to me. Not bad, not bad.
