As I type this, my pedicure from this place has lasted with NO chipping, etc., for the past 6 weeks! Maybe 8 weeks, I can't quite remember.... (Please overlook the toenail grow-in factor, otherwise, picture-perfect.)
My friend and I had to wait a bit (30ish minutes), but it was a Saturday afternoon, so to be expected, and I wasn't too bothered by it.
Best pedicure I've had in years.

I popped in with the hottie niece after a not so great lunch experience on a beautiful Friday afternoon. There was no one in there because it was unseasonable warm, but it was my niece's birthday so I treated her to a manicure.
The girls who were working were friendly and polite and welcoming. They got right down to business and did a great job. The place was immaculately clean and oddly full of cherubs. Okay, maybe it was Valentine's Day decor but there were tons of them. Color selection was great and service was professional and prompt and very fairly priced.
Both manicurists spoke perfect English and were not overly chatty, nor were they aloof. Goldilocks would approve.

Overall, pretty good experience, especially as compared to some of the other nail places in the 'hood. The place was very clean, and the staff seemed very attentive. $30 for a pedicure, which is pretty good price. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and did not at all feel rushed.
My nail tech was Agnes, who was great! She took her time with everything and gave a very relaxing foot and leg massage...sometimes I've found that some nail techs don't realize how rough they are when they are filing or using the pumice thing (almost to the point that it is painful!) but Agnes was not this way at all. I definitely recommend asking for her if you go.
I've tried a few of the other nail places in this neighborhood, and this is my favorite so far...I'll definitely be back!
I will give this place 4 stars instead of 3 because of how it compares to the other places within a 3 or 4 block radius.
Everywhere else in the area is either crazy expensive because it's more of a "spa" than a nail place, just a total hell hole (see Fingers & Toes) or just does mediocre work.
My experience at Paradise was pretty good. They were also pretty friendly which is more than I can say for a certain place a few blocks up on division and the chairs were actually comfortable. My pedicure was pristine and the price was more than reasonable.
I will be going back in the next few days, and will post an update should the experience be different. I don't want to get overly excited just yet about the prospect of being able to get my nails done near my house without being abused physically or verbally, having my pocket book raped unfairly, or just getting a terrible pedicure.
***UPDATE***
So today my friend and I went there today (WITH appointments), and I was particularly excited because she had never had one before. Anyways, we walked in and the owner or whatever looked at us confusedly as we told him who we were and that we had appointments.
He verified my phone number with me, and it was the wrong number (the foreign girl who took the appointment unsurprisingly wrote it down wrong or misunderstood me) and then said he'd been trying to call.
He apparently wasn't going to have time to take care of us, and certainly had no apologies in the works either. He was rude and made us to feel like it was our fault. This was So embarrassing because I had hyped it up to my friend so much.
I will never, ever go back...and little did they know that earlier in the day I had given them a glowing review on yelp...well no more!

My mom never ever gets pedis or manis and thinks I am crazy for doing so. HOWEVER, I took her here when she was in town visiting me and she loved it! The staff was super friendly, and my nails have never looked better. They definitely took their time. It even inspired my mom to call some places in Ohio and go on her own for a little pampering!
I am not going to lie though. Something grossed me out big time. The girl that was giving my mom her pedi had gloves on and was touch my mom's feet and then touch her face. Even her mouth at one point. EWW... I don't care if you have the prettiest feet in town, that is just so nasty!
They did have good prices and a bit cheaper than Pinky Nails down the street which was good. Wish they had more colors though.
Friendly staff with a decent selection of colors--though not the entire Essie and OPI collections. Price was on par with most other nail salons which kind of surprised me. Since it had recently opened when I went, I thought they might be offering a special.
Interesting that there was a mix of Asian and Eastern European nail techs. As stereotypical as it sounds, I tend to go to Asian nail salons and Eastern European waxing salons. Two birds, one stone?
Checked this place out on a whim on a Tuesday night around 5:30. I was told I would have to wait 25 minutes before someone was available to do a spa pedi/mani. I only had to wait about 15 minutes really. But then once I was seated in the very comfy pedi chair (sweet massage action - one of the best I've sat in so far), I had to soak my feet in cool/luke warm water for about another 15 minutes. It wait wouldn't have been so bad had the water been hot. But they had a large flat-screen mounted on the wall in front of the pedi chairs, so that kept me occupied watching the news.
When the girl came over to start my spa pedi, I asked her if she could warm the water up. She obliged and made it so hot and so awesome! Just the way I like it!
The spa pedi was great and combined with the chair massage, it would have put me to sleep had I not been distracted by watching The Family Guy. She was very diligent and thorough.
Manicure came next and she paid lots of detail to getting the polish just right.
They helped me with my bag/shoes/keys and even put my kicks in a bag so I could carry them home with more ease.
The total came out to $50 for the spa pedi + mani which is a little cheaper than Pinky Nails up the road, where I usually go. But now that this place is a few blocks closer to me, cheaper, and good - I'll be going back again and again!

If I want my cuticles pushed back dry and my nails painted poorly, I will do it myself. Uggghhhh. So, I went in there Saturday about 5:30pm and it was just me and a dude getting a pedi. HE seemed to be having a great service with from a blond lady, maybe 40 with a bob. I had some crabby girl that couldn't seem to actually file my nail (she filed my finger instead). Anyway, she couldn't even seem to paint natural light pink/white polish even. SO SAD! Really is it that hard to give a get a decent mani in this city!!!!! I guess I will have to continue to take the train to the bus to go to Salon Excursion.
