I totally like it here - it's like getting your nails done in someone's living room. Such a pretty place!  Jenny, the female owner, is super nice and easy to chat with. Plus I met a fellow Yelper named Claire - Hi Claire!! A week later, my nails look good, my toes look good, and I'm happy. All for $30. Sweet!

Thank you so much, Yelpers, for recommending this place! After learning that Thy Nails on Newbury had gone up to $43 for a mani/pedi I was in a bind for a not-so-pricey place in the Back Bay.
Very clean, nicely set up place, run by husband and wife. Both very friendly, and the husband is great at the foot massage part. My nails look great and at $30... I will definitely be going back!

I would recommend this place if you are in a hurry and are looking for a reasonably priced mani/pedi ($30).  I'm happy with how my fingers and toes look, but I did feel a bit rushed while I was there, even though we were the only people there for a good majority of our visit.  In the past when I've had a pedicure, you soak your feet for a bit before they start doing your cuticles or using the pumice....but they get right down to business here, so it's not the most relaxing experience.  Before you know it, you're done.  The husband/wife duo are very pleasant, and the place itself is clean and nicely decorated.  Great for those of us on a budget, but if you are really looking to kick-back, relax and get pampered you might want to shop around.

I went into Paradise Nail & Spa on a whim -- a friend of mine had heard about it and wanted to try it out.  So we went.  I had a French manicure done by the husband, and, while he was very skilled with the white tip color and the very skinny little brush he used, he screwed up the rest of the manicure.  He missed spots with the polish, did a horrible job cutting my cuticles, and also didn't seem to care about removing the excess polish from around my nails.

I ended up getting my nails redone someplace else two days later for a better price, and they looked a lot better, too.

What a pleasant surprise! A Korean-owned and operated nail salon! The husband and wife duo lived up to my expectations of cleanliness, meticulous hands, and friendly service. (I mention that they are Korean because while I was searching for a nail salon in Boston, I couldn't find a review that said anything about Korean operated ones. Perhaps there are like-minded yelpers like me? Koreans are really trustworthy!)

Anyways, my nails look wonderful and for $22, that's less than most places on Newbury. I couldn't stop staring at my toes while walking home!

I decided to come to Paradise this afternoon for a manicure based on the Yelp reviews I came across. I knew that it wasn't gonna be a five-star experience, but I'm short on cash, and $12 for a manicure sounded good to me!

I didn't make an appointment, so I had to wait for a bit. The husband and wife were the only ones working, and I can't knock any stars off for that - I should've made an appointment. :) When it was my turn, I told the woman that I found Paradise on Yelp. I asked her if she ever checked the site. She said no, but then continued to explain that some people write negative reviews for reasons that are not really the fault of the business. For example, she said that some people have very high expectations for a 20-minute pedicure. "You can only do so much in that short amount of time," she said.

That conversation rang in my head as I walked out, a little disappointed that there were still rough spots where my fingernails meet the skin. At other nail salons I've been to, they remove the dead skin around around the perimeter of the nails toward the tip. But then I thought -- My cuticles were taken care of, the polish looks great, and my service was done lightning quick.

So I'm giving four stars because they do deliver a fast, good-looking manicure.

This weekend was the first time I have been to this place and I went based on other Yelpers reviews. And needless to say, I was not disappointed! The owners were so friendly and very sweet!! They were quick but took great care in tending to my worn out feet. I am extremely ticklish, which I let them know up front, and somehow I got through it without squirming once! They were even patient as they attempted to scrape off the hot pink nail polish on my toes and fingers from the 80's Old Skook Prom from the night before! Not an easy task.

Since I am a Marine and their son is in the Marines, we had plenty to talk about. I got the best paint job I have ever received at one of these salons and it still looks as good today as it did a couple of days ago. I would highly recommend this place. At $30 for a mani/pedi, it's the best deal I have gotten in Boston thus far!

An oasis in a sea of overpriced Newbury St nail salons! Paradise is quiet and relaxing, never crowded, and they do a damn good mani/pedi. The livingroom type space, unlike other nail salons I've been to since moving here, is appropriately decorated, doesn't stink of chemicals, and is kind of spa-like. The NJ-born husband and wife owners are sweet and accommodating, and as far as the reflexology goes, that man's hands are magic.

Their prices are very reasonable, and don't make you want to use your perfectly manicured fingernails to gouge out their eyeballs. Yes, I have felt that way at previous manicure experiences. And yes, I'm in therapy.

I was looking for a nail salon and the first one I walked into (Newbury Natural Nails I think) was tiny and had a strong acetone smell, so I kept looking.  I came to Paradise at 6pm and liked that it was clean and spacious, plus $5 less than the first place for a mani/pedi.  I got the husband, and I agree, it was the fastest pedicure ever.  At least the foot massage was nice.  The manicure was more of the same: quick, almost militaristic-ly quick, but effective, and a hand massage to boot.  They were really nice though, and fixed my friend's nail twice because she kept scraping it by accident.  They would've gotten 3 stars but when I was leaving, they were nice enough to wrap my toes in some saran wrap before helping me put my socks and shoes on, so extra brownie points for them.  All in all, a positive experience, but next time I think I'll save the money and do it myself =P.

Very sweet couple that did a great polish job. Good price $30 for the mani/pedi. I always dread getting pedicures because the cuticle removing is usually so painful, but not at all this time. I even ruined my toe at Zara within 10 minutes of leaving and they fixed it for free despite customers waiting...I felt so bad! Definitely going back...can't stand those crowded little nail salons where the employees frequently talk smack, oblivious to the fact that I understand what they're saying!

Tip- for all those who complain that polish lasts 2 days, invest in a good top coat and reapply every few days concentrating on the areas where chippage occurs. I always do this, starting with the day I get a manicure and repeat every 3 days. This also prevents an existing chip from peeling more. My manicure still looks like new after 1 week!

I really wanted to adore this place.

After you walk up the stairs, you enter a nice, well furnished shop with about four stations for manicures & pedicures.  I went on a Saturday afternoon and they somehow managed to do 4 pedicures and 5 manicures while I was there for 30 minutes.

I had a pedicure done by the husband, and while the paint job looked nice I was expecting a little bit more from my first pedicure of the season.  My nails didn't get shaped much, and any kind of pumice stone action was minimal.

All in all it wasn't a total waste of $22 ($27 w/ $5 tip) but when I get a pedicure I usually want more than just my nails painted.

UPDATE
A week later one of my big toes chipped.  I would expect this of a manicure, but I like my pedicures to last at least 3 weeks.  I was more than a little disappointed with this experience.

After reading all the Yelper reviews, I felt pretty confident that I was going to get a cheap but good pedicure. Boy was I wrong!  I walked in without an appt at 6pm and the place was empty except for me and one other person. I thought it was great since I would have more time having my feet worked on without the pressure of being rushed.  The wife sat me down in the pedi chair and had me put my feet in the tub. The water was cold and soapy. She didn't even turn on the bubbles once I placed my feet into the tub. I had no clue how long that water had been there.

The husband finished the woman next to me and moved over to work on me. He then turned on the bubbles but not even 30 seconds later, he was taking a foot out to start doing the cuticles. I pointed out to him that I had really dry feet and I wanted him to work on that.  He said "yeah yeah" but barely did any massaging nor did he really do anything to my dry heels.  They were really nice but the pedicure was awful. He put the polish on my toes but got a large portion on my skin and left it there. It was just not what I expected.  I think you should be able to have a decent pedicure for $22 but I guess I was wrong. I definitely won't be back.

I went to this spot based on the reviews here. I have been going back for several weeks now. Every time I go, I get more and more friendly with the owners. They are sweet and do an amazing job.

In response to a previous post about them perhaps being ignorant/racist, I think that was a really unwarranted/paranoid comment and I was offended when I read it. I think other people here have commented that it was a little strange at first because they were the only ones there, etc. and I definitely also felt that way at first -- colored or not -- but it just had to do with the fact that the place was empty aside from me and was awkwardly quiet (no TV, music blasting, etc.). The owners speak perfectly good English, have a son in the Marines and moved to Boston from NJ. They are quiet at first, but they are willing to talk to you - unlike some other nail salons I've been to where all they say is "what color?".

Anyway ... I have been getting tips for a few weeks. The job they do is beautiful, fast and well priced. And the individual service has me going back time and time again. The woman (Jenny) has devised her own method. She doesn't do acrylics. The method she has come up with is better on your nails. They seem to be just as strong and when one does break, it's a lot easier to get the rest of the nail off of my real nail. AND they often will comp the fix - if they know you'll be a repeat customer.

Bonus: You might just see one of the Red Sox players getting his eyebrows waxed ...

I get a mani pedi here, which I had never had before.  I found it enjoyable, but it was slightly awkward to me that I was the only one there.  The husband did everything and I was surprised how good he was; paints nails like a pro.  He kept saying I was tense and told me about the massage services, which were fairly cheap, but after denying he gave me a back massage for free.  Which was super nice but I found it to also be slightly awkward, which may just be me.  Just like he paints, he also massages like a pro.  My only beef is that the mani didn't last too long, but my nails were in a pretty poor condition before.

I'd give it a try, for $30 (on Newbury Street)  you can't beat it.

I've just made an appointment here for next week before my trip to Croatia... based on all your great reviews... Yelpers, I hope you don't let me down!  My mom owned her own beauty salon on the UES in NYC for 12yrs so I can be extremely picky about nail places...  we'll see if this one meets the mark!  For now I'll leave it at 5 stars because I have high hopes!

-------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------

Well... I have to say I enjoyed it but wasnt that impressed with this place... and I know its been forever since I got the mani/pedi done but I have had no time to be on Yelp!  :(  ...  anyways

for the price of the mani/pedi... totally worth it and well done.  I had tips done on 3 nails and the wife didnt even charge me for filling and repairing those!  not a huge color selection which I was disappointed by and also not a very relaxed feeling.  I felt a bit rushed and I didn't want that but I guess if I was prepared to spend $50 for a mani/pedi and went to a European or upscale salon/spa then I'd be able to lounge more and they would take their time a bit more.... oh well...

the toe polish lasted about 3 weeks and was still good but my nails were growing out so I had to change it... the one on my nails got a little weird even though I tried to upkeep it and i had to take it off barely two days after i got it done... usually it lasts at least 4 days.  Overall, better than most places, doesnt smell like acetone or chemicals and semi relaxed.

Great great place.  I got a really nice mani pedi for $30.  It's really nice, relaxing, clean, and close to the copley T stop.  Right between Exeter and Fairfield.  I just went today, so i'll see how long it lasts.  Will most likely be back.  I just moved back to Boston from NYC and miss the amazing $20 mani pedis, but this one really reminded me of a NYC nail job.  Really friendly too.

I'm so torn about writing this place up...because I don't want anyone to know how wonderful it is! (well, just enough people to keep them in business)

$30 for a mani and pedi on Newbury Street. Walk ins available on Saturday and Sunday. It's owned by a husband and wife team that are both wonderful, sweet and more than accommodating! I always feel comfortable in here... no pretension, I never feel rushed or in the way. It's just a great, relaxing experience.

The pedicure chairs are the typical massage chairs. They have lots of colors to choose from and ask repeatedly if you like the color. Although I've only ever seen the husband and wife working, there are lots of manicure stations, so perhaps they're thinking of expanding?

I first came here almost a year ago on a very cold, windy winter Friday night. It had been a long day at the end of a long week. The salon was so warm and cozy. It was just what I needed! I've been back many times since and never once disappointed.

I never thought I would find a place like this on Newbury Street, but I'm glad I did. Just shhhh. Don't tell anyone.

After trying several nail salons on Newbury Street & Coolidge Corner, I realized that Boston just didn't compare to the nail salons I used to go to in my native NYC... until I went to Paradise Nail & Spa. This was the closest I got to getting a NYC nail job in Boston.

Paradise isn't your typical Vietnamese-run salon where nail techs are scurrying around simultaneously doing your mani and pedi so that they can set you out in 30 minutes. It's actually owned by a Korean couple... the place was quiet, relaxed and MOST importantly, VERY CLEAN! I stopped getting mani/pedi's for a while because nail salons around here just didn't seem sanitary. It grossed me out. But Paradise is Newbury Street's best kept secret. Located on the 2nd floor of a Newbury brownstone, it is surprisingly spacious with lots of pedicure chairs, nail stations, waxing area and massage room.

The husband and wife duo are super friendly and the husband did my mani/pedi. They definitely use clean tools, offer a very thorough pedicure, a great leg and foot massage, and best of all, the shape and paint job on my nails were great, it really caught me off guard!

I sat at the dryers a few minutes before I got a massage. I originally intended to have a 30 minute massage, but it felt so good, I ended up going for the full hour! The husband "specializes" in massage therapy and honestly, though it was a bit awkward at first, I definitely left feeling totally relieved of back tension. I think he specializes in deep tissue massages (which is what I had) but he can do a swedish if you ask him. I was very impressed, the guy is obviously experienced and he worked out the knots and tension in ALL areas of my back, certain places I didn't even know were tense!

I'm DEFINITELY going back again. Though it's not the $20 mani/pedi's I used to get back home, it's definitley a $30 I'm willing to spend for a satisfying experience. I'm not paying $30 to get a crappy nail job at a dirty nail salon... I FINALLY found a place, Paradise is it for me.

This was not one of the better mani-pedis I have received. The main problem was, they did it too quickly; after a long winter of wearing boots, I was looking forward to getting my crusty-fying feet sloughed, but because they don't give your feet and hands time to soak properly, they don't get all the dead skin off.  I have NEVER had a 12-minute pedicure - and there wasn't even anyone else in the shop!  Yes it was cheap, and the owners were very nice, but I don't think I would come here again.

This place rocks!  I went with my roommate after we had a horrific experience at Lauren's Nails.  It was $22 for my pedi, and $12 for her mani.  The place is easy to find and they offer $30 mani/pedis.  The people are friendly and the polish job LASTS...a week later and no chips [on both my toes and her fingers].  The people are friendly and personable--if you want to chat, that's okay with them, if you don't, that's also okay.  It's clean, and has a spa-like feel.  I've tried two other Newbury St. places and this one is the best of the three.  One gripe:  not the best color selection, but worth it for everything else you get.

Indeed one of the very best nail salons I have been to in Boston!
They do such a careful and beautiful job of manicure.  The place is decorated very nicely and cozy, it makes you feel like you are at home.
The background music is soothing and most importantly, the husband and wife couple (the owners of the salon) treat each customer with so much care and respect.  Ever since I stepped into this salon for the first time 1 month ago, this is the only place I go now for manicure.  I have told many of my girlfriends about this place and my sister also loved it!!

In addition to the nail care, they also do a fantastic job on facial waxing and massage.  After a 20-min massage ($20 only), I left that place feeling so rejuvenated.  The husband is so great at doing back and neck massage it's unbelievable!

I highly highly recommend this place if you are looking for a nail salon that not only does a great job at mani/pedicure but also gives you an amazing experience of being taken great care of.

Pop up the stairs to this hidden Newbury spot!  The husband and wife owners took on myself and my 2 friends, and had us on our way quickly!

The manicure and pedicure was only $30 and while drying I grabbed a quick eyebrow wax-even though the proprietors hail from new jersey my brow arching was not excessive!

Unfortunately, my toes were ruined when I spilled by shoes back on too early-not to fret- they told me to come back any day this week for a complimentary polish change!

The best part was that I left like I was being being pampered in a friend's living room.

**I just wanted to report that after my polish change I am IN LOVE with these people! My nails look perfect and the gentleman working even ran down Newbury to feed my meter while my toes were still drying**

went here last nite because the other nail salon i went to said they were too busy  even tho there was only person there!!!
i was the only one there, i think because it was soo damn cold out, no one was out! so i got a mani/pedi. for 30 bucks it is worth it! the husband did my toes and nails. and i couldn't believe how perfect they are painted on!  the wife is soo cute, she helped me pick out colors and even put on my socks and shoes for me. they do a great job here and its soo quiet and quaint and having the whole place to myself was soo relaxing. I can't stand when ppl are on their cells phone yapping away.  come on, when i get my nails done I wanna relax .  This is definately my new nail spot.
oh, and another thing, they organize the color by shades, so all pinks are together, reds, ect. so awesome cuz i hate when they are not organized!!
* you have to be buzzed in after 5pm*
**** I went here to get a french mani & pedi before my trip to Hawaii, John did an amazing job! he free hands paints on the white tips and they are wicked straight and perfect! I dont know how he does it. he is awesome!  ..going there tonite for some polish now that I am back, bronzed and bitching..***  8-)

Update:
I got an acrylic nail refill yesterday.  Surprisingly they do not use drill at all.  The wife patiently buffered every nail carefully by hands, and then applied a clear coat of gel with dust-on acrylic powder.
Pro:  Much gentle, definitely no pain.  25 bucks for all that work...  a very good deal!
Cons: not sure how long it will last.  .  I had 3 nails that were lifted; rather than removing the lifted area, she sealed the gap with gel and acrylic powder on the surface.    I'll update later
Additional: the couple is truly nice people which made the experience exceptionally relaxing.  I'll definitely not going back to any cheap place on Newberry st, ever!

Good job for the price.  If you always go to the 35 dollars mani/pedi on Newberry Street you should switch to this place; you got so much more for 5 bucks less.  It's more like a soothing day spa environment rather than the typical loud crazy salon full of Vietnamese technicians chatting nonstop with each other.  I got a pedi and back massage from the husband.  He did a very good job on the pedi; great foot rub, nice paint job.  I was a little concern of the tools because I am not sure if they clean it between the customers.  Looks like it has been sitting outside for a while and I don't see any UV box near by.   The back massage is rather painful comparing with the foot rub.  Personally I prefer slow-flow with hard pressure.   He used his elbow to release my knot by moving back and forth extremely fast.  I might go back to medi/pedi if I were in the area but won't try the back rub again.

After reading the great reviews, I was disappointed. The guy seemed to be in a big hurry doing my pedi, even though there was no crowd there. I didn't feel he was very thorough as a result. Also the foot massage was downright painful. It was the quickest pedi I've ever had - isn't this supposed to be relaxing?! And something I couldn't do myself at home?1 I'll go somewhere else next time.
