Me: Hi, I'd like the Clam Po'boy sandwich.
Waitress: Huh?
Me: *points on menu*
Waitress: Oh, the Clam Poorboy.
Me: Yes, I guess that works too...
They have your typical diner stuff for breakfast and lunch e.g. omelettes, hamburgers, chicken soups, etc. If you are not expecting anything more than diner food, this place is for you. If you are expecting anything in the vicinity of "paradise" at Paradise Cafe, you are in for a disappointment. The service is fast and friendly. There are some beer and wine options for lunch (not sure about breakfast, sorry, if you are into alcohol early in the morning). The floor-to-ceiling windows have a great view of the main street and the mountains. It's nice to sip a hot bowl of soup in here during a snowstorm...simply beautiful!
1 star off: my Clam Poorboy sandwich was just a bunch of salty fried dough
1 star off: who still spells out the whole word "po'boy"?!
"Pretty average" - direct quote from my husband.
Our waitress was great, perhaps the highlight of the meal. Too bad the food wasn't slightly better.
We came for breakfast, and I ordered a ham and cheese omelet, while my husband had the french toast with bacon. The french toast was actually quite good, and the bacon crispy. It was nothing spectacular, but it was good. My omelet, on the other hand, was overcooked and bland. I specifically order omelets in restaurants because they are hard to cook and I have not yet mastered this skill at home....however, if I want an overcooked/dry omelet, I would simply cook one myself. Mr. Chef, YOU are supposed to know how to cook an omelet, and it makes me sad when you don't.
The breakfast potatos were mediocre, as was the coffee.
I also couldn't get over the aquarium scene painted on the wall, which seemed out of place in CB, but that's neither here nor there.
