Danielle was amazing and helped me find birthday cards in two seconds flat! I remembered how helpful she was the last time I visited and I love shopping at this store! I always find more beautiful things than I came in for!

Papyrus has some gorgeous stationery and cards. I went in there a few years back to get a Valentine's day card, and was looking for something not so stereotypical, or corny, I wanted something pretty and simple. And I found a cute as buttons one. The prices are generally high. The store space is cramped. But, sometimes, getting yer' old standard hallmark card just isn't gonna cut it. And they do have a pretty ok selection. So once in a while I'd browse and see if they had anything that caught my eye.
Plus, when you're looking around wal-mart for a Mother's day card, and you can't even squeeze your way around the hoard of people looking for the same exact thing as you, you'd almost think that paying more and going somewhere else a little more unique, is worth it. -

Back when I used to work at the mall, I would go to Papyrus all the time on my lunch break. I love stationery, always have, and even though I couldn't afford most of what they had, it was fun to look around at the tons of stuff.
Now, the opposite is the case: I could afford their stuff if I wanted, but the cramped, crowded store, where you can barely squeeze past someone in an aisle, has lost its charm for me. I appreciate an artful, inviting display, but not when things are jam-packed together so tightly that I'm afraid to pick something up for fear of knocking over a dozen other things.
It's true that Papyrus probably has the best selection in town for boxed notecards as well as single-serve greeting cards. From classy, high-end Crane stationery to fun, affordable Marcel Shurman, they have plenty of choices to suit everyone. Around Xmas, they also have a big selection of boxed Xmas cards, although they're pretty pricey. They also stock lots of cute trinkets and small gifts - things like scented candles, wax seals, and pretty wrapping paper.
Although there's a clearance section in the back, I've never found it to be especially rewarding. From time to time, I have scored a bargain there, but 25% off too much is still too much, so don't expect to find crazy deals there or anything.
If you want to get someone a cute gift but aren't exactly sure what, Papyrus is a good place to go and survey your options. And if you're one of the few people who still writes snail-mail notes, then you'll appreciate their selection of boxed notecards. For the most part, though, going to Papyrus isn't worth the mall-employee flashbacks I get whenever I set foot in there.
