I love to come here to get special cards. It's usually very quiet, and I always wonder how they manage to survive on such low traffic. The prices are very reasonable, and the golden stickers always make me come back =)

Vast amounts of both high and low end stationary and cards for whatever the occasion. Somewhere between a true boutique style place and a department store, Papyrus is an upscale chain I guess. Though I didn't find anything of interest on the initial visit, I've got plenty of ideas for occasions to come.

I expected more of a selection of card stock or invitations, but maybe they cater more to making custom ones.  Their other locations have more selection than this one does.

Ick. The card selection at this store is awful. They have a lot of cards, but they're super cheesy. Nothing funny, but nothing that would be ok for your mom either. They all have awful quotes inside, or stupid quotes inside - they're embarrassing to give. They also sell a lot of crap - cases in point: erasers that say "to err is human," key rings shaped as diamond rings, plastic rings with huge plastic jewels, lots of pink stuff with poufs attached. All CRAP that a 5 year-old girl would love. The service was only sort of ok - but the content of the store is really low quality. I'd stick with a boutique card shop over this any day...

They have the most creative cards you will ever find!  They're all really pretty and classy.  If you want crappy drug store cards that have sappy poems someone wrote while doing their business in the bathroom of a bar, go to Walgreens.  If you want a truly elegant card or personalized stationary or cool frames, or journals, or random desk accessories, go to Papyrus.

What can I say?  Well, whatever it is, it always seems to come out a lot better if I write it rather than speak it, and I can always find something nice at Papyrus for notes and letters. The Papyrus at the Stanford Mall is the one I usually go to, because it's easier (for me) to get there, park my car and get to the shopping area without having to breathe into a paper bag or consider moving to back to Indiana while sitting in the turn lane off 280 for an hour in a sea of SUVs and minivans.  The one at Stanford seems to have a little less variety of merchandise than the one at Valley Fair, but I like the stationery sets and specialty cards.  I bought a beautiful hand-made stationery set with a peacock design in a matching hand-painted box at this store.  Also a great place to go for the post-holiday sales!

Ummm... I'm torn with this review... Papyrus has an insane amount of many different kinds of cards, and they tend to range from rather cheesy "miss you/love you" mass-produced pink cards, to really funny and adorable hand-made little creations.

My ONLY problem with the store is that it feels kind of stiff and serious - being inside has never inspired me to go crazy and buy a card for as many people as I can think of... Thought I DO usually get a few cards..

and I do like making cards myself more than I like buying them! :)

Also, I wish Papyrus has more wrapping paper and ribbons. This is very personally biased, because I rarely buy cards without a gift, so wrapping and card-giving go hand in hand for me.

It's a cute store - definitely go in! You will buy one or more cards, send them to your friends and loved ones, and become a better human being, even if just for as long as it takes to put a stamp on the envelope and then curse yourself for mailing out pictures of kittens on laundry lines with little printed messages: How's it hanging?

Yeah, it's that kind of store.

If you need a card that says "I love you!" with puppies on the front, this is not the right place.  Papyrus has many genuinely funny - but not crude - cards, and many different manufacturers.  The selection is probably the one of the best in the Bay area for individual cards, holiday cards and stationary.

This is the first place I go when I arrive at the Stanford Shopping Center.  I love browsing Papyrus for their great collection of journals and the strange collection of knick knacks near the counter.  I own every travel journal they carry: http://ode.reinyday.co...  If you're looking for a special card, you'll love it here.  They have confetti, stickers, little writing kits, and other spectacular stationery selections (couldn't resist the alliteration).
