This place is a great alternative for lunch and breakfast for the commuter/9-5'er.

A decent breakfast will run you less than $3.   My favorite is the sausage, egg and cheese on a roll.

For lunch you cannot beat the $5.99 special - a burger (to order) or chicken sandwich with fresh fries and a drink.

The service is quick and the people are friendly.

Their breakfast special has changed, but still considerably cheap.

This one's for all my Penn Station commuters.  Two eggs, home fries, and two slices of whole wheat toast can be had for 99-cents.  It's really $1.09 after tax but who's keeping track?

During the weekday morning rush, you'll probably wait about 10-minutes to get your food but it's well worth it especially if you're already spending $7-$10 for lunch, it's good to be able to shave off your daily expenditures somewhere.

Tip of the Day: smother with copious amounts of ketchup accompanied by excessive ounces of hot sauce.  Drink juice.

the 2 dogs and a (draft!) beer special is truly unmatched in terms of value, especially when you consider that you're paying twice the price for just the (canned) beer at any other vendor inside penn station. they will gladly add chili, cheese, onions, or any combination of those three to your dogs for an additional charge, or more traditional condiments for free. you can also upgrade the brew to either an import/premium or a large (32 oz.) for a nominal fee. all in all, the whole deal comes to under $5, which, as mentioned above, is an absolute steal.

come on in, grab two dogs and a 32 oz. bud heavy, and mingle with those who are running to catch their train or missed their train called life long ago. either way, enjoy it!

I love watching masters of their art at work and if it's culinary art, even better!

There was a brisk line for the breakfast specials at this fast food outlet in Penn station. There is a clear view into the cooking area and it was amazing to see the short order cooks hard at work churning out those breakfasts. For less than $3, you can get a very filling cooked breakfast.

They are everywhere! Its a classic in a way I guess. The hot dogs arent anything spectacular but you must eat one when you go to NY.

The papaya juice is good for you but was very sweet. Some locations even offer a cheap breakfast.

I would like to start by saying that I was severely disappointed to search Yelp and not find this Papaya Dog listed. It is located in Penn Station in proximity to the LIRR. It is by far the best 'Ya in the city for a variety of reasons.

First, the food is dirt cheap. Second, it serves absurdly cheap brew in plastic 32 oz. cups with a lid and straw. Third, it has plentiful backroom seating and several televisions (but no bathroom). But be warned: those who occupy the gritty backroom are almost always homeless or approaching homelessness. However, I've held numerous conversations with these gentlemen and not experience one act of peddling. So, if you decide to spend an evening in the 'Ya, expect to make a few new friends in this very depressing atmosphere.

With that said, if you are looking for cheap eats/drinks, questionable clientele, and surprisingly friendly service, check out the Papaya Dog in Penn Station. You will not be disappointed.

My go-to place for a hit-and-run breakfast as I dash out of Penn Station.  99c for scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast is a steal - I dunno how they do it!  They even serve the ever-elusive corndog for those days you lust after deep fried food on a stick.  Absolutely one of Penn Station's best assets.

I work above Penn Station and every Friday I treat myself to scrambled eggs, toast and home fries for 99 cents. YES 99 cents! The cook knows me, is quick and you can't beat the price. I love this place. Lunch is good too.

Stella Artois in a 32oz cup with straw and lid for a mere $3.50. Nothing more is needed in life!

Dissimilar to the other papaya barons that litter the city, this papaya dog is the only one ive seen that has tables to sit at, AND they serve up a mean 2 hot dogs and 1 beer for 2.95 deal thats sure to make your guts giggle with delight after a few rounds. BOOOOM! thats a great deal when you and your friends are looking to play halloween a little early this year and yall want to put on your sauce faces for a quarter of the price compared to any other place in town.!  Try out this papaya port when you and your friends are ready to set sail for the evening, drinks are on me. :)
