I've been driving all over the High Sierras, dirt roads, I mean I would drive for 3 hours and not see another human being. The air was fresh and unbelievably clean. Which brings me to the the donuts.

This was like the only donut shop in probably like 100 miles. The glazed donuts were delish. I went back for more the next day.

At 9am the parking lot was full of 4WD pickups and this place was rockin with locals drinking watered down coffee and eating donuts.

    Yeah my kind of place!

The hours are a little odd but since I worked nights this was a great place to stop after work. Everything is worth trying. I love fresh homemade doughnuts!

We are so pleased there is a great donut shop in town.  These are fantastic donuts obviously made with the best ingredients cause they are all so good !!

I remember several years ago when Krispy Kream donuts came to several locations in the SF bay area.  Some friends there  thought they were good, and urged us to try them when we were visiting.  What a mistake !!   Horrible, small, greasy , and yucky.  Most of those KK locations have since closed - they  served a lousy product..

Well -  these Papa's Donuts  are nothing like that.  We are so blessed to have a quality  donut shop in Quincy.  And the prior review that speaks of the hospitality of Miss Kathy is right on.  What a fantastic hostess she is.
Coffee here is pretty darn good too..  Located at the east end of town.

Yummy & cheap (which is good since they don't take credit cards).

They were very nice when I stopped in for coffee and directions.  The directions were accurate, but......the coffee left something to be desired.  It just wasn't strong enough for me.

so we went to high sierra this year but decided to spend the night before in tahoe so me and the old man could get our gamble on.  we left real early and headed to quincy, getting there about 7:30am.  i was driving because brian h is a bitch in the morning and we hadn't yet had anything to eat or drink.  knowing the long line we were about to get into at the festival, we flipped a bitch and pulled into papa's donuts.
now, i'm from new england.  we know how to eat donuts.  it is common to send someone to the store for toilet paper and have them come back with a dozen mixed from dunkins.  if they stopped making chocolate cruellers, my mom would get the baked goods version of the alcohol DT's.  people kill each other over donuts where i'm from, so you better not mess with another man's donut.
that being said, i don't really like donuts.  maybe that's why i moved to san francisco.  so i could fit in better.
so we ordered ham and cheese croissants, nuked in the microwave and coffees.  i usually don't drink but the old mans crankiness was rubbing off on me.  both were quality and served with a wicked big smile, even though we were obvious stupid, choochy out of towners taking over their town.
