I have eaten at this location twice. Pizza is very good.
I have ordered from this location twice. This first time I called a minimum of ten times to get a busy signal spread out over 25 minutes. After about an hour I did get through. Picked up my pizza without further difficulty.
Today I decided to add their app to my phone which required me to sign up. I ordered 20.00 worth of wings, mozzarella sticks and a browny for a 2:30 ish delivery. I called at about 3:20 to find out what happened. I was told the driver knocked on the door then called me. Funny I was in my garage with the door open, which is 10 feet from my front door and 25 feet from the road no way to miss him. Reviewing my phone, no calls, no voice messages. I think I'm done with this papa Gino's. I do not take kindly to being lied too.

Would be fine aside from the fact that compared to the usual papas I order from this pizza has literally 1/4 of the chicken. Here, have 10 small pieces of chicken on a LARGE pizza. What the fuck? Thanks.

      AVOID!

New England's Papa Gino's is and always has been a pizza place that leaves much to be desired - and it was proven again to me tonight.

When we were kids growing up in Milford, Massachusetts, going to Papa Gino's was a family treat, after swimming lessons, Cub Scouts and Little League. It was pizza and as a kid, adequate is good enough. The sauce is acidic, the thin crust is usually both overcooked and flavorless compared to other chains. The cheese and sauce never seem to get along and the cheese usually ends up by itself on the plate.

What I most recall about going there when I was a Mllford kid are 3 things; the table jukeboxes that never played songs you had paid for, the mirrors on opposing walls that let you do see duplicates of yourself multiplied into infinity and the very long waits to actually get pizza.

Surely that couldn't still be the case decades later? I now live out of New England but while in the area, I decided to take my 3-year old daughter there tonight and tell her about my family visits. The table jukeboxes are gone but things change. The menu has even changed to include burgers and specialty pizzas.

When I walked in at a rainy 5:15 pm, there were no other customers. I ordered a small sausage pizza and a kid's mac & cheese meal. I was told it would be 15 minutes.

I was busy goofing with my daughter and realized 35 minutes had passed. I went to the counter and stood waiting for one of the 8 employees to address me. There was only one other customer in there at the time, waiting for take-out.

From one of the workstations a teen worker nodded at me with a "Hey, whassup?" gesture but didn't ask what I wanted. I said, "I've been waiting for a half hour for my pizza. I was told it would be 15 minutes."

"We're really busy. There are a lot of deliveries," he said.
"Yeah but I'm HERE," I responded.
"Well, talk to a manager," he said without pointing out the manager.

Another guy looked over and asked what was up.

"I was told a half hour ago it would only be 15 minutes, and I'm the only person in here. Just wondering what the story is?" Again he said they were backed up and had a bunch of deliveries.

"Yes, but I actually drove here and saved you the trouble."

He looked into the oven and asked what I ordered. I told him and he said it was almost ready. We sat down again.

A minute later he yelled that it was ready. Mind you, I'm sitting in a booth 12 feet from the counter and am only one of 3 people there. The other two are waiting for takeout orders. He could have brought it to my table with about 10 steps, something a good manager would have done in light of the delay.

I look at the tray and have to remind the manager about the mac and cheese meal. He reaches into a warmer and puts a plastic bowl of mac and cheese on the tray, looking at it as he does so. The shredded cheese on top isn't melted at all, which concerns me. I plunge my finger into the bowl and it's colder than room temperature.

"This is cold. The cheese isn't even melted."

Without a word, the manager takes the bowl and hands it to a co-worker, saying simply, "Heat it up again."

I sit back down and he calls to me again a minute later. It is now 45 minutes since I first ordered. In that time, only 4 people have come into the place.

I sit down and hand my child her mac and cheese. She asks, "Where's my toy?" I had told her it was a kid's meal that came with a toy.

I go back to the counter. "That was a kid's meal. There's supposed to be a toy or something?" The manager puts a small coloring book on the counter without saying anything. I ask about the dessert.

"You get ice cream. You want it now or later?" I tell him later and sit down yet again.

I'm finally eating 50 minutes after arriving in an empty restaurant. The pizza is lackluster. I was also given two breadsticks, which are absolutely no different than the pizza crust except that they are hard and burnt. While I eat, I overhear that every pick-up order is delivered with the phrase "Thank you. Sorry about the delay."

I check the place out more closely. The booth I'm sitting in has ripped vinyl upholstery, as do a few others. There are straw wrappers and piles of grated cheese on the floor.

Papa Gino's bills itself as "New England's Best Pizza." I was curious about the company and visited their website tonight, where I found this...

"Our guests continue to praise both our products and our people as the best," says Rick Wolf, President and Chief Executive Officer. "They treat us like family and are happy to return again and again. To be known as a great restaurant with outstanding food and friendly faces is incredibly fulfilling."

I was really hoping that Papa Gino's would have improved over the years as bigger chains had moved into New England. When I walked in, I was honestly looking forward to a pleasant memory with my daughter.

I left without dessert and won't be back.

Everyone in this location moves at a snail's pace. It took 20 minutes to get my order and I was one of only two people waiting. The location is in desperate need of a remodel and the flow of the counter is terrible. Everyone just piles up while waiting for their food. The food is what you expect.

It's Papa Gino's. It's pizza. It's not awesome, it's not bad. It's cheap, and with the 5 minute lunch guarantee, it's quick to get in and out of while on break.

The slices have great crust that you have to really chew through, nice pools of flavorful grease on top. Love it.

For a dollar more, you can get another 330 calories in the form of a third slice. Or you could get nice healthy side salad with Blue Cheese dressing for the same amount of calories. I'll always stick to my pools of greasy goodness!

Not for the health conscious, you'll find those people at the McDonald's down the street.

This place sucks. I wanted a pizza and my favorite pizza place in town was closed. I was told 20 minutes after placing my order. I was already on the road so I arrived 5 minutes later. I used the bathroom while waiting. The handle on the toilet fell off when I went to flush it. When I arrived back out 2 minutes later my pizza was already in a box. I knew they gave me leftovers, but it was late and I was hungry. Didn't feel like losing it again after a bad night bowling. I opened the box when I got home and could tell just by looking at it that it had been sitting around being kept warm for hours. Nothing is fresh at this dump. I guess maybe that's why there's never anybody there. Close it down. It's just taking up space. Totally and utterly useless.

These fools forgot my order! I called in an order on New Year's Eve. When I called the order in, I specifically asked if the location was still accepting delivery orders. The person on the phone said they were, and took my order and said it would be 35 to 40. Then? It never came. By the time I called, they were closed. Thanks for leaving me high, dry, and hungry on New Year's Eve.

I go to this place often, it is right near Kohls and is quite comfortable inside. I usually get pizza but the sandwiches are good too. I think it is a good place to stop for a meal.

Does anyone knows that people who make the pizza do not wash their hands????
I just had an experience this evening. I put in my order to this young man at the cash register. I paid for my pizza and while I was waiting for my pizza, I noticed the cashier joined the man who was making pizzas. I thought the cashier was just "hanging out" with the cook. Then, I've noticed i saw him start handling the pizza dough. he started forming it with his BARE hands!! (Mind you, the cashier had a very oily dirty-looking hair.) I watched for a few more minutes and getting disgusted. I approached the restaurant manager, who is now at the cash register helping another customer. I had to interrupt the manager and told her that the guy who was helping me did not wash his hands. She nonchalantly said it is okay...it is in the company policy the cashier/cook does not have to wash their hands or don't have use a pair of gloves to handle pizzas because the pizza oven is set at 500 degrees. She said whatever germs in the pizza will be killed due to the high temperature. It took me for few moments to tell her that I want a refund becuase the thought of handling dirty money then make my pizza is just VERY UNAPPETIZING!!!

So if you value your health, do not order your pizza at any Papa Gino's and spread the word!!
