Insanely good breakfast at this cozy joint in Green Mountain Falls.  Service is a bit pokey, but most folks here are not keeping a tight schedule.

The star performer on the menu is the cinnamon raisin bread, which they bake in house.  Make sure that someone at your table samples this treat.  They offer a buttered toast version, and a french toast version.  Seriously, do not miss this bread.

The pantry is always a nice place to stop for a great breakfast or lunch.

On a nice day, it is sometimes a waiting list to get one of thier outside tables but if you can grab one, it's nice to enjoy the weather and always fun to watch the people over by the lake and gazebo.

Every item that I have ever ordered from the menu has been a hearty portion that tasted great in a fun small town diner environment.  I hope you enjoy a waitress saying things like "What'll you have hun?"  I know I do.

Service is normally excellent but occasionaly depending on the day and server (especially a nice day very early or late in the season when they might get swamped unexpectidly) the wait time before you get your order in or a drink refill can be a while,  but even if you hit a bad day the wait for the great homestyle food is worth it, besides you just have to relax and pass the time enjoying the small town atmoshere.

While the pantry has an old time diner feel, the prices are modern, so expect to pay about $9 for one of thier hearty breakfast or lunch entries.

While I haven't had a chance to try it yet, I noticed they started serving an "all you can eat breakfast bar" on the weekends on the Creekside Patio (you can still sit up front and order of the regular menu as well).  And they also serve dinner a few nights a week during the summer with some live entertainment on the Patio Creekside as well.

You want to know how to get on my good side?  Call me 'Hon'.  Call me 'Sweetheart'.  Call me 'Sweetie'.

...but only if you're the sassy waitress carrying over a refill pot to fill my cup with more perfectly dark diner coffee.

The Pantry is one of those dying breed diners:  hometown owned and operated, with basic but filling food, a crisp green and white decor and killer coffee.  They even have a counter right as you walk in with vinyl-topped chrome stools and an aging Formica surface at which you can sit and watch the mostly-local crowd interact with the owners.

The Pantry is a true gem.  Oh, and I think the waitress called me that, too.

I love the Pantry!  It's true that I can't help but stop there on my way back to Denver from Woodland Park.  My car exits the 24 on its own accord, I swear.

As Suzanne mentioned, it's one of a dying breed.  You step in here, and it's like you entered a time machine.  Trust me though, it's in a good way.  If you sit at the counter, you can peruse all of the postcards and thank yous from people around the world while you wait for your meal.

And what a meal it will be.  Sweet or savory, everything I've had is pure quality.  It's just totally delicious in that made-with-love sort of way.  All of the staff are wonderful and willing to chat you up about whatever you like.

The only downside?  This place is popular, so there's often a wait.

We always enjoy the Pantry.

The food is down-home, artery-clogging diner fare. Okay, the tables might be a tiny bit sticky and the decor is strictly kitsch. But the servers are friendly (Fawn especially - she calls everyone "hon"),  service is fast and the food is always good.

In the summer this place is clogged with tourists. As locals, we like going on a snowy mid-winter morning and having the yummy coffee mixed with hot chocolate, whipped cream on top... and a giant pancake. Can't beat it with a stick.

i love the pantry!  i've been going here for years and am always pleased with the food, the service and the general experience.  the biscuits and gravy are a must have and the vast array of eggs benedict options are lots of fun...if you're in the area, you've got to try it out!

Good food, friendly and prompt service. Decent decor and setting (I would have preferred the outdoor seating, but we couldn't)
