The only reason this place isnt getting a 5-star rating from me is because their thai iced tea was truly disappointing and I find thai iced tea to be a staple of thai restaurants. The tea tasted good (tasted like tea) but it looked watery (instead of milky) and they didnt put enough ice so the drink was warm.
Besides my issues with the thai iced tea...the pineapple fried rice was soooo goood. The pineapple was sweet and they werent stingy with the cashew nuts. We also had pad thai. Which was also good. Perhaps a little sweeter than I'm used to but it was satisfying and a little lime juice and hot sauce only made it better. The service was good.
The Bad:
The credit card machine was broken when i went and I had to call my brother to bring me cash. I'm guessing this will only be a temporary problem. Oh, and I always get the two above mentioned plates whenever I go to a thai restaurant. I had to ask if they had them because their menu was really hard to understand.
This was my first time at this place and I'll definitely be going back. The physical space itself is pretty big, which makes the place look really cold and empty but then again some people like that. I didnt care.
Had the fishball soup, and it was perfect. Atmosphere great, seems authentic. The place seems to be going through slow times so It seems like they don't even turn on the fire until you order. Food takes a bit of time.
This's the kind of place you won't go even if it's free. Their lunch specials are plain gross. The penang beef special's supposed to have curry beef but you don't know where the curry has gone. And it's gotten 2 pieces of mysterious triangular biscuit-like crunchies with some sort of disgusting unknown minced meat inbetween and a big chunk of greasy noodles. They're definitely not Thai food! Okay that's the $5 deal. If you pay $7, you do get a curry with a tiny box of steam rice. But that waitress with lots of acne on her face will even forget your order, overcharge you or give you the wrong thing. She doesn't speak English, gets mad and gives you a "bitch-stare" when you try to tell her what you want. You call in and she says come pick up in 10 minutes and when you get there she says "oh sorry I forgot!" It's the most terrible Thai place I've ever been. It's truly, truly, truly awful. You have to be a real sucker to tolerate your existence there.
