I had been desperately looking for a store selling bonsai trees and blue jeans that is the size of a postage stamp and run by migrants who don't speak English. My search of Fashion Valley came up empty. Thank goodness for El Cajon Blvd!
The trees are really cool. I am considering buying one, despite the certainty that I would kill it.
In the meantime, I've bought some Chinese pots that I'm very happy with.

Lots of reasonably priced and well kept plants like lucky bamboo and bonsai trees available here. I believe they also sell linens, jeans, dress shirts, and various 99cent and up items, like a mini-Walmart. The owners are very nice and the lady that works here speaks chinese, vietnamese, and english. It's a bit jampacked and has kind of a random mix of household items but it's very convenient& inexpensive stuff, esp. if you live in the area. I got a really nice smelling jasmine plant and a cute bamboo set up for my apartment (for a steal compared to other places).
