Really, for fast food, Panera is running right around the top, along with Chipotle.

I like their food, their business model, the restaurants, free wifi.  Rarely turn it down.

Free wifi, lots of outlets, comfy booths, crunchy bagels and decent lattes. I   find myself working out of this place a lot. I usually spend under 5 bucks for a latte plus a cinnamon crunch bagel with raspberry cream cheese. Yum. Can't be more enthusiastic about it because nothing tops Twiggs!

HELLA GOOD!

this is the place to bring a friend and have a one on one with them. Its a very casual place with great food. The paninis, salads and soups are BOMB! my favorite is the You Pick 2 (picking half of a Chicken Pomodoro and a half Orchard Salad). and the Chocolate Duet cookies are freakin delicious!

and the best thing is, its not bad for you! DO IT!

I love bread. I love carbs. I love them, and they love me, clinging to my hips and tummy, giving me womanly curves that I wish weren't quite so womanly sometimes, like when my doctor says that I ought to consider losing ten or twenty pounds... and yet...I love bread.

Panera makes pretty decent stuff. Their pastries are nice, their sandwiches are good, the soups don't seem to be made from scratch locally but that's okay. They're still okay.

It just seems so expensive. I've only been eating at this Panera for a couple of years, yet it seems the prices have risen steadily each year.

And where do they find such anemic little apples? :( They look so sad, I can't bring myself to choose them as a side dish, even when I know my doctor would approve.

I heart panera because of the free wi-fi and the all you can drink coffee. It's the refuge for students who need to study. After a while I need to stick to decaf, otherwise I'd get sparked. Minus one star because Panera pre-makes their food so you can't request a sandwich without cheese. This place is packed even at night. If you bring a laptop, it's almost a competition to find a booth with an outlet. One plus is that this particular panera doesn't have loud annoying music blaring like the ones in Solana beach and Liberty Station do.

Love Panera because they have yummy sandwiches, salads and soups and they are all served up with some carb-licious bread! Plus there shortbread cookies aren't half bad. Don't even get me started on their cinnamon crunch bagels. You can call it breakfast but really you are just eating a sugar laden carb filled dessert. Yummy!

I knew I had to come back after eating the Fandango salad.
It was the savory mixture of greens, nuts, mandarin oranges
and raspberry dressing.
I repeat, raspberry dressing!

Second time around, I had the Chicken Tomesto.
It was as good as the picture they have displayed.

Third time around - Chai Latte and Cinnamon Scone.
Light, crumbly scone and a smooth, warm Chai Latte.
Both really hit the spot on a cold morning before class.

FREE WIRELESS =)

It's a bit over-priced though.
But, I keep coming back, because
I adore the people who work here -
they really seem to enjoy their jobs!
So, of course, we get great service, right?
RIGHT!

High-five Panera!

__________
UPDATE 5/23/07

Try the Trail Mix Bagel.
Super good with cream cheese.
And a coffee, too.
It's my lunch-o on the cheap-o.

Good Food, reasonable price. Nice place to hang out with buddies, specially before or after a movie from Edwards. I think they have free WiFi as well. Their half sandwich & half soup deal is the most popular one. They used to have a dried tomato soup... it was phenomenon. But they stopped it for some reason :-(

The iced honeydew green tea is the shiznit. I keep getting refills of the stuff. Wished they came in larger gallon sized cups. It's like when you go to a Thai restaurant, all you want is the thai iced tea but they never give you enough. Sup wit dat?

Nice, free wi-fi for the mobile laptoppers.

Thought this place was only for the ladies until I tried some of the sammiches. Pretty tasty. Does this make me a metrosexual now?

4 Stars = One of the best places in Whale's Vagina.

Sitting here working on my personal statement.
Taking advantage of the free wireless...(Yelping while "studying").
Got about 10 refills on my 2 dollar lemonade/green tea.
Nutty Chocolate Chipper cookie was delicious.
French Onion last night was tasty.
Crispani's a good deal for 9 bucks.  I could eat probably 3/4 of one myself... any takers for the last 1/4?
Bagel with Hazelnut Cream Cheese is YUM-O (sike, I hate Rachael Ray).

PEACE OUT.

Love their bread and freshness of meats but this place is just too over-priced. The "Pick Two" (choose 2 of: salad, soup, 1/2 sandwich) with a drink came out to a little under $10 which doesn't really fill you up.

This place has changed a lot, for the worse, over the years. Years back, they had consistent quality but after my last visit, they seemed all over the place - sloppy. For example, my soup was really watery and I bet the person did not add the right amount of water to the soup concentrate (no way they make it from scratch).

But I do have a soft spot for place. They've catered my company's benefits' fair for the past two years and gave us more than enough sandwich, cookie and salad platters. There were a lot of leftovers but each year, the Panera people gave the leftovers to our department that put on the fair.

However, avoid this place if you can. It's not special and in fact, you may be disappointed.

This is a pretty decent standby lunch spot for Mira Mesa.   I'm usually not a fan of chains, and in general I'd rather go to a local owned bakery (if there was a good one), but this place does have a few really great things going for it.

1 - Free WiFi, good place to study if you're a kid or screw around looking at the internets if you're me
2 - Proximity to the movie theater, making it an ideal pre or post movie eatery / hangout
3 - tasty, albeit unhealthy as hell, panini sandwiches
4 - it's about 2 blocks from my house

If you're looking for a chill, quiet, hassle-free hangout, this is perfect, if you want have some gourmet food, probably better off elsewhere.

By the way, geniuses, because they bring food out to you after you order it at the counter doesn't mean they have "Waiter Service", who raised you people?

To be honest, i am a huge fan of Panera. Yes, it's a carb heaven and hell for some people. It's a great combination for a computer geek and coffee addict like me.  the bread is absolutely great and the bagel is simply irresistible.  Love their trial mix bagel and chocolate chip bagel.  The staffs are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic.  Can't complain the free wi-fi wireless Internet. It makes the Hotspot in Starbucks look like a joke.  ( $6 per hour or $10 a day. dang! ) The layout of the bakery is always open, spacious and bright. It's comfortable to be in one for hours with free refill coffee and a good toasted bagel.

In addition, we wrote to the Panera online after they retire their great Chocolate chip bagel from the menu last month. They replaced it with the new 'Choc-o-nut' begal". Surprisingly the customer rep. emailed us back in a timely matter and explained it's a seasonal menu and the bagel would be back on the menu sometime. It's comforting to know... :)

I'm a huge carb lover; anywhere serving good bread, and I'm there. We stopped by Panera before heading over to Edwards for a movie and their sandwiches and breads definately didn't disappoint. The guy who took my order even threw in a free iced green tea for me! I definately like the paninis. Stop by and they offer a great menu for breakfast also!

This place is great for lunch or a light dinner.  You can order all kinds of combinations of soups, sandwiches, and salads with the "You Pick 2" option.  I personally enjoy the french onion soup and bistro steak salad with a side of french baguette. Yum!  They also have very enticing desserts and fresh breads and bagels.

Great mochas.

*New Crispani's (served after 4pm) are delicious!

A bit overpriced for the half sandwich and soup combo but I can't complain.  The food is great and I don't think I've ever been unhappy with an order here.  Once I had to order a ton of sandwiches for work - it was totally last minute deal but one of the employees there was very sweet and completely worked with me on getting a big sandwich order in and done on time!

i usually get the half sandwich/half salad combo here with the fuji apple salad.  it's a very good, very filling meal for me at a very reasonable price.   i definitely love pastries and bread, and panera offers a very good option  for my cravings.  only downside is that parking can be a bit hard to find on the weekends with all the stores in this complex.

free wifi, free refills on lemonade, but of course you have to pay for your meal! their sandwiches are freshly made, they have a variety of salads and soups and their pastries are too appealing to pass up. definitely one of my favorite places to chill and study at if its not too crowded and if its early enough, as in pre-10pm because it definitely gets busy at around lunch time.
