This place is seems to be a pretty good alternative for all those people who are sick of Le Boulanger.  At first glance, the location is spacious but right next to the busy Stevens Creek.   The interior is quite inviting, offers plenty of varied seating, and even has free Wi-Fi.  Note that this is a order your own food up front and then find your own seat kind of place.  This setup is perfect for the kind of food they have, as there is no need to wait around for service.

The Panini's are simple and good here, just make sure you're ordering something that you like.  They offer enough for all picky sandwich eaters.  Remember that they have 3 types of sandwiches here: Hot Panini, Signature, and Cafe.  All sandwiches include a hefty amount of ingredients, so you are generally getting a damn good sandwich.  My favorite ones to order are the Italian Combo, Chicken Bacon Dijon, or the Asiago Roast Beef.   I remember coming here with a friend out of curiosity for the first time back in college, luckily my curiosity and hunger were happily appeased.

Having been here twice, I must say I am impressed with Panera Bread.

It's like a warm deli/cafe/lunch place/free wifi all together. The seatings very spacious and awesome, the menu is great, and the service itself is fantastic.

First visit: first time here so I was timid and scared shitless. The lady helping me looked deep into my eyes like a vicious man bear pig ready to kill me. I ordered the mozerella and cheese panini. Had no meat, I was sad. Was quite filling though and if you're a vegetarian you may or may not enjoy it. Personally I thought it had too much butter in it which made me feel sick.

Second visit: Frontega chicken. Om nom nom, ate that shit up like the feast after Ramadan. Delicious, perfect, way to go.

My only complaint is what the hell are those pagers for when the food comes out maybe less than a minute after your order. I swear they're faster than mcdonalds here, and quite frankly the foods much better as well.

Nice place for a lunch or perhaps dinner, also a very nice place to set up your laptop and/or meet with classmates/coworkers to discuss whatever.

If you don't know by now, I love consistency. This place is consistent. The internet is limited during peak hours, but I could always get a table for me and my laptop while I was studying for the bar or just getting some work done. The service is consistently great and efficient. I like the buzzers that they give you b/c this location is sprawled out and you can sit outside. There is plenty of seating and benches as well. And Peet's is right next door too.

I had the strawberry poppyseed salad and it was more of a sweet fruit salad, more than a salad, which was nice anyway. It was fresh! The vinaigrette was good and they had blueberries, canned pineapple and mandarin oranges, strawberries and poppyseed. I ordered it with chicken and it was ok. Not so clean cut, a little stringy, but it was still good. The french onion soup is pretty good, but I prefer mine a little thicker. The baguette was good. BF liked the soup and salad too.

Paninis are good here. I like how they have a microwave at your disposal near the coffee condiments. They will toast your bagel or what not for you. They will cut your bread for you. Sometimes they run out of the good pastries and bagels, esp on Saturday, so you should get there earlier. Their iced tea is ok. They coffee is pretty good. They usually have three kinds "on tap" in those black, long thermoses.

Overall, it feels like home here every time. Everything is clean and people are friendly.

Loved the french onion soup in the sourdough bread bowl.  Was happy to discover this place - reminded me of old times in Florida when I was a student.   Lot of kids in this cozy place studying with their laptops..the downside is you don't get an indoor seat easily.

I've been to this and a couple other Panera's, this one though...is consistently out of Asiago cheese bread! This is a signature part of moms fav sandwich and they are usually (5 our of past 6 times in) lacking it. They front counter also doesn't know how to select anything  comparable and so the sandwich is lack luster and suffers. Though, they always have the asiago cheese crutons for my soup and salad?? Oh yeah...the ceasar salad: I wanted a bit more tang, awaken my mouth flavor but it was unsatisfyably monotone. please stock up or don't false advertise.

With our Mocha Freddo's in hand Kim M. and I walk into Panera Bread for a filling and delicious treat. Frontega Chicken Panini, Kim orders. The cashier hands us a pager. Once we sat down, the pager went off- what great service, it was literally ready instantly ... like magic.

We opened the paper bag to find a generous portion of our delicious Panini with a side of chips. The bread was crispy, the onions crunchy and the chicken juicy and hot. This isn't your regular, thrown together sandwich deli- this is good quality food. I believe the food is worth it's price, I find it to be almost gourmet.

I gotta' come back to try their soups and salads, they look delectable.

P.S. Parking here sucks!

I'm glad my first Panera Bread experience was not this location. The food is great - huge fan of the sandwiches, soups and salads but the parking at this location is not good. There's nothing more annoying than not being able to find parking when you're hungry.

Worse, the cashier guy made me feel like herded cattle. Do I look like a cow who needs herding? Ok, don't answer that. "Next" he called, and I obeyed. I gave him my order and he blankly gazed in my direction as I spoke, as if I was saying "Moooooooo... Asian chicken.... moooooo.... salad." Perfect grazing food, he was probably thinking. He gives me my change and says "Next" while I'm still putting my money away. I turn around to make way for the next customer, and I see no one is there. Thanks for rushing me for nothing, dude. You hate your job, got it. You just gotta learn to hide it better cuz it's so obvious!

I've been staying with my cousin in Cupertino for a couple of weeks now. We decided to come out to panera so we could get some good soup on a raining afternoon.

Now, She is full chinese and I'm Chinese and Korean. In Asian culture, We might look alike but... if you were asian.. You could tell that she is full chinese and I'm half.  PLUS to add to it, we are pretty Americanized so I don't think we really blend in with the teeny bopper anime crazed Asian crowds Cupertino offers. BUT I could be wrong..

There were 2 cashiers. The line was not long at all.
My cousin goes up to order and I was busy talking to the boyfriend to notice if she said "for here or to go".

I then go up after her to order and when the white guy asked "for here?" I said.. "uhh what did the girl in front of me say?" He said.. "I don't know" and its like wow are you high? that was seriously 5 seconds ago.. then he says..

"After awhile, you all look the same"....

Ok its not there was a massive crowd of Asian people in there and trying to point out my cousin was like finding waldo in a sea of wanna be waldos.. And when this guy said it.. he had this underlining sarcastic tone in his voice and a small smirk.

I replied:
"heh (sarcastically.) right..."

Yeh I should of said something else like "WELCOME TO CUPERTINO.. POPULATION: ASIAN" but the boyfriend and I were alittle shocked at how racist someone could be. Now granted, this white boy was about my age.. mid 20s.. looked like he popped out of an Abercrombie album with his blonde hair and polo shirt but still.

Then..... I'm late to class and I'm waiting for my food. 10 minutes pass and I realize that my buzzer is broken. I got up to see my food cold sitting on the counter and I asked for it to be wrapped up so i could take it to go.. Over all. it was a bad experience.

I've been passing by this place the past few days because I'm always early for work and have some time to spare ... just enough to pick up a breakfast . I had the turkey & artichoke panini sandwich which was awesome . It was very yummy and packed with flavor . The bread was good ... very crunchy and not too hard to bite on . The side of bread I chose for it to come with was very good too ... not like the stale bread you get from some bread stores . I got the jalapeno bagel with cream cheese the other day . The bagel taste okay , the cream cheese was cold ... would've been nice if they heated it up along with the bagel because it tasted kinda funny . Imagine a hot toasted bagel with cold cream cheese haha . They didn't put the cream cheese on the bagel either so I had to do it myself . Kinda weird because usually when you order bagel w/ cream cheese , they put the cream cheese on for you . It did come with a big chunk of cream cheese though . The french toast bagel and the cinnamon toast bagel are both pretty good . What impresses me the most about this place is their bite-size cinnamon crunch bogels !! They are SO yummy and delicious !! Just talking about them right now is making me want to go out and buy some .  love this place ... almost everything here is pretty good and I always get my order super quick so I'm giving this place an extra star . Good options , good food , quick service . Why not give it a try ? This place reminds me of Starbucks but WAY better . I don't like Starbucks but I do like Panera Bread . Btw , they have free WiFi !! And they open pretty early like Starbucks & Peets .

I was really craving a salad so I decided to try this place out.  Well I got their split 1/2 order that is a combo.  I got the Harvest Salad and tomato soup.  It came out to $8!!!!  That is way too much money for just half orders.   The salad was ok as the soup.  Not over the top crazy good.

Parking does suck, I noticed that there was supposedly additional parking behind the main lot.  So good luck.  You can have my spot because I don't think I'll be going here that often.

I have to admit...I use the Panera Bread chain like it it my personal study room.  During my last finals period, I decided to escape my school's tense and anxiety ridden library and apartment building.  So I came home, but wasn't sure where to go everyday since I'm not a library person.  I remembered that Panera Bread had free internet...so I started going there and I fell in LOVE!

First of all...the damned place smells AMAZING.  Out went my low carb diet.  But the smells kept me happy and energized all day.  It opens at like 6am or something, so I'd go at 8 or 9, and be there literally all day, till 5 or 6 pm.  I'd get coffee in the morning and would abuse the free refills (another amazing perk!).  I would also each lunch there...the 1/2 and 1/2 deal with a greek salad and chicken noodle soup...YUM!  Pretty much everything on the menu is really good.

To avoid being a weird creeper who was there literally 7 days a week 8-12 hours a day for 2 weeks straight...I went to different Panera Breads around the south bay.  Yea..I'm weird. hahaha.  So I hit up this on, Campbell, Coleman Ave, and the 2 in Fremont.  Their service is always excellent, and I'm always nice and comfortable there without feeling like I need to leave.  It was as relaxing of a finals period as I could get...and guess what, I got straight A's last semester!!!  Come late April and early May...I'll be doing my grand Panera Bread tour again.  Come join me!

This place is really good, but I had to knock down two stars for service &price. Whatever tho, that's still a solid A-OK

I came here one morning since me and the bf ditched class again. Whatever, in college they really don't give a fuck! Haha. Anyway came here to get some chow. Both me and the boyfriend got a bacon egg breakfast sandwich. Really good, however the portions there suck. It was like half of a regular sized sandwhich, and for the price? Pffft, coulda gone to daily donuts and got a sandwhich for cheaper and I'd be full. Anywho, we were still hungry so I bought us a pumpkin muffie &bearclaw. Muffie was http://bomb.com, and the bear claw was huge! LOL I only wish my sandwhich was huge too :(

-1 star for service. The asian lady (who I think manages the place) seems to be extremely fake. Yenno that whole "I hate you, but I'ma front and try to act nice"? Yeah, that read on her like a book. Kid who helped me too totally didn't want to be there, and I mean I understand, sometimes you don't feel like being at work. But I mean, if a customer smiles at you, asks how your days going, and is being genuinely nice, don't toss her debit card on the counter after charging it. Whatever, I was in too good of a mood to let your ass fuck it up.

-1 star again for the price. I think i spent maybe $18 on a sandwhich, water, bear claw and muffie. IDK, maybe I'm cheap, or frugal, or someshit, but help a sister out. Times is hard yo! Lol.

The top two reasons why I would go to any cafe are the food and the internet.  Let's review, shall we?

1. The food.
I really did not like the food, but I've only tried their half sandwich + half soup deals.  So maybe their coffee/pastries might be okay?  But my general feeling about the food I've tried is that they just try a bit too hard.
- The Fuji Apple salad is a really weird mix of ingredients, and I would not order it again.  The apple chips plus the apple dressing are overwhelmingly sweet, and the gorgonzola cheese is just jarring.
- I usually really like chicken salad sandwiches, but the one at Panera is nothing special.  And I thought chicken salad wasn't that hard to mess up!  It was just a lot of nothing.  Bland, but filling, I guess.

2. The internet.
Sure it's free, but you have to re-sign in every 30 minutes.  It's just annoying, especially if you're VPN-ing with a corporate network to get some work done.  It's really hard to be productive with the internet kicking you off so often.

Panera does have good attributes like cleanliness and lots of tables, but internet trumps all when it comes to a cafe.  It's just not an ideal place to go with a laptop in tow.

This is the first Panera I ever went to, but I find that most of them are pretty much the same.
They have a nice selection of breads.
Their sandwiches are very good.
Their potato chips are delicious.
I'd say skip their soups. The tomato is too thick and salty. The tortilla soup is basically a bean soup with some corn thrown in.  The chicken soup is somewhat better but still too salty with noodles so soggy they melt in your mouth.

I came here for a business lunch last week.

This is the first Panera Bread I've ever been to, I didn't realize that they are a chain. Given that I usually eat at Asian places while in Cupertino, I didn't even notice this place, which is very conveniently located between the Target and Whole Foods on Steven's Creek Blvd.

I had the Frontega Chicken®  --     Smoked & pulled white meat chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, chopped basil & chipotle mayonnaise, grilled hot on our Focaccia.  (I think it was something like $7.99-8.99)..

it's a well made, good proportion hot panini.. that's all I have to say.. Will come back again!  =)

-- decor:  clean, neat, bright and free WiFi (limited to 30 min. during lunch and dinner time though)  do come early or there's a line waiting for seats.. this location is popular during weekday lunch hours!

this is like a StarBucks serving sandwich/panini...  very cool!  =)

Whenever I'm in the mood for a quick but healthy lunch I swing by the Panera Bread.  It's a little on the expensive side compared to Subway, but the choices are nicer (although not necessarily healthier) and it just seems more "hip" compared to Subway!

The food quality is pretty good, the service is good too, and the layout is more conducive to hanging out than your local sandwich shop.  It's the Starbucks of sandwich shop I guess. Lol.

Great joint for a UYE knitting event.
Why: It was empty, and we got a couple of tables to ourselves!  I ordered a panini with turkey, asiago and artichoke. My mother, trying to be frugal and get something small, ordered a cheese, ham, bread concoction.  it was tragic, and I think we both thought it would be more like a grilled cheese.
Either way, she ended up sharing my warm sandwich with me and we were both happy.

Decent chain with some good food option. Like that they serve yogurt squirts or go-gurts with the kids meal!

The UYE knitting event brought me to Panera Bread for the very first time.  I was struck by the similarity between Panera and Specialty's in Santa Clara.  I happened to visit both on the same day.  Similarities include:

(1) baking their own bread and pastries (e.g., bagels, scones, muffins, croissants, cookies)
(2) offering breakfast sandwiches, sandwiches, soup, and salads
(3) free wi-fi
(4) ample room in a new looking location
(5) bathrooms
(6) all-you-can drink refill your own soda cup option
(7) order first and they give you a buzzer
(8) way better than Le Boulanger

At first I thought of getting a sandwich but none of them appealed to me because I don't like smoked deli meat.  All the turkey options use smoked turkey meat.  Even the Frontega Panini uses smoked chicken.  Weird!  Specialty's has a wider and more appealing selection of sandwiches.

The made-to-order salad was quite good and the service was so fast that I didn't get a chance to wash my hands in the bathroom before my buzzer went off.  I chose the Asian chicken salad ($6.99) which comes with your choice: bread, apple or chips (baked or fried).  The whole grain baguette was chewy, dense and fresh.  The romaine was crisp and the sesame vinaigrette was light and not too sweet.  It comes with crispy small wonton strips, sesame seeds, almonds, cilantro and sliced white meat chicken.  I got distracted by knitting and conversation - the salad doesn't stay crispy don't let it sit around too long but that's to be expected.

In true chain style, they even have their own signature bags of chips.

I think it was a really good place to have our first UYE Knitting.  I've never been there myself, but know of another knitting group that meets there on another night.  I called in advance and asked if I could reserve a table - doesn't hurt to ask - and they did accommodate!

There is only a couple of options for veggie sandwiches, both kind of skimpy on the veggies.  I had the Mediterranean and it was okay, too much bread for me though.  You also get a side of chips or an apple.  Guess which one I chose.

I'm impressed with the level of service and even though they were closing at 9pm, they told us we could stay longer.  I also love their booths and it's so conducive to private studying (just ignore the elevator music).  Just a hop skip and away from DeAnza, I have another option when I'm hungry.

A quaint & fresh bread place with a variety of delicious sandwiches and baked goods. It's about a block away from De Anza college. The selection on the menu is amazing  and there's always something new to try. The french bouquet is so good with the whipped butter.

A very relaxing place to eat by yourself to study or with a large group of friends. It's fast, easy, and delicious with complimentary wi-fi.

This place is known for their signiture sandwiches and even their signiture chips! It gives you many options with any type of sandwich you are craving. I find the paninis to be the best. Soup, salad, chips, fruit, yogurt, bread, ect. The combinations are endless. My favorite is the broccili chedder because it has just the right amount of flavor. A signiture side of their french bouquet with their unlimited refills of your choice of soda or free ice tea!

A good place to stop by at any time of the day at a very appropriate location.

Wow, I've just read some bad reviews of this place. Maybe I just got lucky but I have loved my 2 times here.  While waiting for my brother to get out of class I needed a place to finish up some reading.  So I got me some tea and an spinach and egg souffle.  Both were great.

You know when you go in a cafe and think yourself, "if they just have the beverage I want, I'll be fine" ?  Well, I was more than fine. I was greeted with the smell of fresh bread, HEAVEN. And not only did they have my earl grey, but I could refill the mug to my heart's content.  Then when they ran out of water in the dispensers the employee went to the back and refilled it for me on the spot (on both days too...way to be consistent).  Last unexpected bonus, there's a microwave so if your tea/coffee/food gets cold while you are doing whatever you are doing you can heat it right up again.

A+... after 3 cups of tea and a bathroom stop I was done with my reading and back out into the world.

Pros:
- Good food, especially the soups.
- Great food options for any type of mood you're in- heavy, light, healthy, drinks only, and so on.
- Free wireless internet access.
- Quick service.
- Provides a decent environment for studying. Wi-fi, power outlets, decent sized tables and comfortable seating.

Cons:
- This location is always busy and during peak hours it can be difficult to even find a table.
- Even though they offer power outlets, there aren't really enough to go around and you have to wait to grab a table/chair somewhere near one.
- The espresso options aren't very good. You might try your luck at the Peet's next door.
- The parking can be a pain in the middle of the day. In the evening, when the business park behind it is closed, parking spaces are plentiful. During the day, when it's open, it can be difficult to find a spot.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS PLACE!

I always come here whenever I wait for my boyfriend to come out of class which is usually between 5 - 10 pm.They close at about 9 pm though. The people here are so nice.. They actually remember me. At the moment, I am actually sitting at this Panera Bread location on THEIR WiFi! Another great thing about this place!

This place is good if you wantto get together for a group, and it's also good to just sit down and read a book with a cup of tea. The price is reasonable and the food is superb. They are very quick serving you your food. The pastries are also great!

This place always bakes this delicious haliboo (sp?) bread on Fridays and I've only been able to get it once but then I went on vacation so it was no good after :(

I love Panera Bread because everything tastes so good and fresh even though there is just an enormous amount of sodium for the most part and a lot of their sandwiches contain lots of fat. I think in the end if you walk into Panera Bread knowing this and not expecting it to be a healthy place but simply a place with fresh, great food, then you will have a great experience.

This particular Panera Bread is has almost no parking as the downside since it is so busy and there are some businesses nearby as well so if you do want to go, go early and get out fast :)

When I want a bagel, I come here. Why? I'm addicted to the 'everything bagel'. I don't like them from anywhere else. All other places (Noah's, Posh, Manhattan, Einstien's, etc) have rye seeds on their 'everything bagel' and it gives it a strong, sour (?) taste. PB doesn't have the rye seed on them.

I also like the 1/2-1/2 deal (choose 2 from 1/2 soup, 1/2 salad, and 1/2 sandwich). The OJ is good too.

One thing I dislike is their panini sandwiches. They aren't fresh since they are premade. All their other sandwiches are made to order, why can't these be ?!?

Nice outdoor patio to sit out and enjoy the weather. PB gets packed on weekends around breakfast/brunch time.

Pros: large space to meet people, lots of people, nice patio

Cons: parking can be tight at lunch, people who hog tables dont order/eat anything and treat it as their home office.

Food...breads are excellent, crispy on the outside and chewy inside. I've had a ton of soups. The chicken soup is very salty, the tomato too sweet, but the broccoli cheddar is pretty good, creamy and mild. Not impressed by the sandwiches, and for some reasons my pastries are always stale.

Went for the first time today, and I was underwhelmed.

Got the chicken bacon "signature" panini, with a piece of baguette as the side.  (Choices for sides were the baguette, an apple, or a small bag of potato chips.)

The sandwich cost $6.99 plus tax ($7.57).  The order was ready pretty quickly, maybe the eatery's only strong point.

No waiter service at all... so you go pick up your order when the coaster pager buzzes, and you bus your own table when you're finished.  No beverage service either, so I helped myself to water from the soda fountain.  I guess the water was pretty good?  I'm reaching, I know.

The sandwich measured roughly 7" by 4" (a bit smaller because the bread is not rectangular).  The "fresh hearty bread" (per the menu description) was dry and hard.  Seemed a little stale, though that hardly seems possible if it's baked fresh daily.  Definitely disappointing considering the name of the establishment.  The bacon was fatty (as expected) and not crisp (disappointingly).  Seriously?  You can't cook up some crisp bacon?  It was like they pan-fried the bacon but stopped before it was cooked enough.  The mustard gave it some much-needed flavor.

The 5" piece of baguette was very hard and not tasty at all.  I guess "baguette" must be French for "crust."  Unless it's French for "harder than a prison inmate named White Power Bill... wearing the full armor of a medieval knight... encased in cement."  I added some of the corn oil spread (butter alternative) to make it more palatable.  Note that such condiments aren't served with the food, but rather that they need to be picked up next to the soda fountain.

It didn't seem like very much food, but I suppose I was adequately full afterwards.  The food was so-so, the prices were higher than they should have been, and there was no waiter service to redeem the experience.  Two and a half stars, and I'm rounding down.

Also, if you have a group of more than four... there's maybe two suitable tables which can accommodate your group.  Outdoor seating is adequate, but the indoor tables are mostly smaller.  Plan accordingly.  As in, at some other restaurant.

So I LOVE Panera Bread but I was very disappointed with my experiences here. The parking SUCKS. The Indian (I believe) place next store takes the whole parking lot and won't let you even park there to go in and get togo. Several times I have drove away unhappy because I wanted my sandwich but there was no place to park. I most recently started parking in the Target parking lot but its quite inconvenient. It would be perfect if I could walk there but the lack of parking kills its appeal.

I came for the wifi, which cuts out every half hour, reminding you you've overstayed your welcome.

But what could I expect from one of my least favorite bakery/cafe chains?

The pastries are dense, fattening but not flaky, and taste stale.  The coffee is weak, which can seem like a bad thing--but you can probably drink 3 cups for every Starbucks tall drip.  Their brewed iced-tea is good enough that I won't feel like I've wasted my money there ordering that.

Panera is okay, but I also have a lot of issues. The food is generally good, but it is also really inconsistent.

Cons:
The bread on my sandwiches is always a different size, so I never know what kind of sandwich/salad ratio to order, because you basically never know what you're getting till it comes out.

Sometimes the lines are really long and there are never tables

They are really lax about cleaning the tables

Their menu is really hard to understand and they change it too frequently

Parking is a bitch

Pros:
They arent weird about free water, and they even have lemon slices!

I'm still going to come here, and it's probably still going to annoy me...

We've been experiencing our first heat wave of the year and the last thing I want to do is go home and cook dinner.

After doing some shopping, we wanted something light for dinner. We were introduced to Panera Bread while visiting Las Vegas a few years ago (pre-Yelp era) and remembered how pleased we had been with their salads and sandwiches.

S and I decided to split a chicken salad sandwich and a green salad topped with grilled salmon. It was nice that the put the roasted peppers on the side (S gets tummy problems when he eats peppers) - so I got to eat all of them! :-)

This seems to be the place to hang out and study as I noticed quite a few students working busily behind their laptops. It's great that there's free wi-fi available.

Just another chain restaurant!
I must admit though this place has a MEAN Sierra Turkey sandwhich with this orange sauce on an Asiago cheese bread. It gives you this frolicky, hair flowing in the wind, dress flowing, starry eyed feeling. You know the one you feel when you see Mcdreamy :)
ahh.. got too caught up..BRB.

I looooove Panera. Sandwhiches, salads, broccoli cheese soups are bomb! I love how you feel like youre in a cozy cafe.. students chill with their laptops, couples conversate in comfy booths or by the fireplace (if there is one). Upscale sandwhich/cafe shop and great bakery.

Good place to sit and chat, but I'm not sure I like their food.
If you're looking for some place to study, Panera offers free wireless.

This looks to be a great place to study or work based on all the people there. Lots of different places to sit. Parking is limited and ok to walk a bit.

The sandwich and salad are fine, but the vinagrette had the subtlety of a hammer. If I didn't have a sandwich to soak it up I couldn't have finished much of it.

I've not had the opportunity to eat outside, but it looks more plentiful than the parking.
