I love this place. The owner and staff treat you like an old friend every time you come in and they remember your name and what your "usual" order is. I get cravings for their Turkey Panino sandwich often. I love the side salad and the light dressing is delicious.
The atmosphere is relaxing and feels like a neighborhood hangout.
All that I know is that I ordered a mocha frap with whip here and it was so good, it made me never want a cheap sugary/syrupy frap from starbucks ever again. If you aren't strolling on foot near this spot, you probably won't encounter Pane Dolce because it is hidden sandwiched between many botiques in the middle of Ventura Blvd. It is such a find though, and I recommend everyone who loves a nice quality non-monopolized coffee shop to try this place.
I love how friendly the staff is, and have had nothing but good food...everything from their paninis to a good old fashioned cappucino, great!!
I also love that they support local artists and small businesses, and visiting with "Old Jake" (a dog who chills on the front steps) makes this a very cozy, neighborhood place. In a city where the sense of customer service and community is hit or miss, this place definitely hits!
The coffee is good, the eggs are good, the whipped cream on my iced blended mocha is good, the truffles are good.
Everything here is so yummy.
But the best of them all are the POTATOES. The most amazing breakfast potatoes I've ever had. I dream about them.
Go eat them, now. You will not be disappointed.
A quaint neighborhood coffeehouse that pairs java and cookies with healthy breakfast and lunch selections.
This is indeed a rare find in the Valley. A nice, homey cafe with a tasty selection of mouth-watering cookies to compliment your favorite cup of java. There are breakfast and lunch items as well, but I haven't tried them yet. Located right in the heart of Sherman Oaks, one can sit at the outdoor patio and watch the hustle n' bustle of Ventura Blvd.
If you opt for indoor seating, considering take up the tables right next to the huge windows. The cafe is small and not very crowded like other coffeehouses. Pane has very friendly baristas and wide variety of pastries and drinks as well. The barista recommended the hot chai tea latte and it was excellent.
Unfortunately Pane Dolce have limited business hours and usually closes at 5 p.m every day.
I highly recommend this place!
Closed on Sunday? WTF!
I really like this place and would give it five stars except for the fact that it closes way too early.
I know someone else said it was expensive but when I can get scrambled eggs, a croissant and a bottomless cup of coffee for less than $5 I sure won't complaint.
It is a great place to study because of the good lighting, nice tables and wireless access. I don't know if they are the ones managing the wireless but the connection is strong and free.
The people who work here are also really nice. They know a lot of their customers and are always asking after family and friends (and they seem actually interested in the answers.)
There are also about 6 tables outside for those smokers and dog owners among you .
It's possible they even have parking in the back but as a bus rider I haven't check that out.
I do wish they had more outlets
i love the asparagus soup and veggie sandwich here the coffee and pastry's are really yummy too ! outside seating for a quaint afternoon lunch with the girls !
The chai lattes have kept me coming here for several years now. It is like drinking a fresh baked snickerdoodle cookie. It is a quaint place and has friendly staff. The only real draw back is the limited hours...but they way I see it, that must give the folks who run Pane Dolce a good work/life balance.
