5 reviews for Panda Express
It's a sterile, consistent chinese food place. That said, it tries to appeal to everyone. It's good but not great, fair priced, and it's sustenance.
Spend your cash elsewhere but if worse comes to worse, it's not a bad spot.
My friend Dave H. and I had some food here on the great Penn State campus. It is inside the massive student center called The HUB. I think this was the first time I ever had Panda Express. It's good Chinese food. It's even better with chop sticks. The hardest decision you'll have to make is chow mein or rice and you can't phone a friend.
Its Panda, surrounded by cows, more cows, even more cows and 45,000 twenty-something college kids. In otherwords... food, by the shovelful. Speaking of shovelfuls, true, funny story:
my sister eats her Panda with a spoon. Not because she can't use chopsticks (though when I was there, I was the only person using them... even the Asians there used forks) but because a spoon lets her put more food per arm motion into her mouth. As shes reads this over my shoulder She says "And if you only chew twice, you don't choke on your food and can have the next bite ready when you've swallowed the first one!" - I swear I don't make this up...
It's funny, but I really like the food at Panda. It is American Chinese at it's best. The reason it is so good is because it is in the HUB, the student center of Penn State, and they have tremendous turnover. This ensures that everything they serve fresh. And you can taste the difference freshness makes.
So, make fun of Panda all you like, but they do what they do well, and I enjoy their food.
Total greasepit...even the rice was greasy. Still, I ate here about once a week, because of its location and nothing more. Bad news.
